Which means you can just as easily create a lower priority monster mesh and attach extra monster meshes to it in a random pattern. This has been done before... it can be done again. There is a system for it by now. You may not know it, nor do I know it, but it's there, and you need not assume all the complexities if they may not even be there anymore.Quote fromWeapons and shields are indeed separate meshes, they are rigid AND NOT related to the monster mesh in any way.
And they can be disconnected. Meshes can be toyed with.Quote fromEquinox, a mesh is a bunch of polys, but the polys are connected together.
Spore is a video game. I'm talking in terms of programs that create 3D models, not a game that is specifically adapted for people to toy with it and stuff. Please stop bringing that game up, I never mentioned it at all.Quote fromin spore
I'm sorry that you don't know anything about vertex methods. If you don't know something, I suggest you don't mess with it. I commented on a guy's post. What do you want here?Quote fromi don't know what you mean by your vertex methods here, equinox. that's completely irrelevant as far as this discussion is concerned (Devil_Dark's argument does not hold either).
And, vertex methods: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/cc164112.aspx
You can generate vertexes, polygons, etc. on a very very low level of programming.
Obviously, nobody uses that, but to give you an idea, since you totally had to butt into our convo.
See Project Offset. Crowd test demo.Quote frombut the spikes are a different topic, because they relate to the body visually. equipment doesn't. you can attach it anywhere (in the hand, at the hip, on the back) and it'll be okay. but the spikes have grown out of the body, so there need to be some marks on it that represent it. and it's the case right now. if it were automated, it would look much uglier.

Generally, the voice acting could be better. Gone are the days of Diablo 1, I guess. Compare DI Leoric and DIII Leoric...

Getting back into my exercise program which got kinda sidetracked by exam week.
Trying to beat DII Hell on Hardcore.
Learning HTML/CSS and rewriting a program I wrote this semester.

2. Wizard
3. DH
4. Barbarian
WD just feels like a very multi-layed organic class to me with so many options.
Monk looks one of the most difficult classes to build to me, and one of the most interesting with all the various stuff he can do, and I absolutely love how he looks and his animation. I was thinking about the female but male all the way.
Wizard feels very, very powerful and fun to play with. Male wizard's attitude seems appropriate.
DH fills my "engineering put turrets here slow everyone and wait" niche.
Barb... I don't really know what happened there. Kinda didn't click with me. Will definitely play them eventually but not terribly excited atm.

I'm gonna remap Shift to Spacebar, sounds awesome (especially considering I played DH all morning today. With a touchpad).
Got a two extra button mouse so:
I have potions as my "oh shit!" button on mouse 5. Actually feels a bit awkward, pretty easy to use on accident, but I think that's actually a good thing... "fuck fuck fuck" "Oh, potion" (I intend to play HC)
I got the "move" command on mouse 4. Not sure if I'll be using it, though. May put something else there instead. Those lore popups are annoying.

My $661 laptop runs DIII fine...

DH got some of the worst skills/runes in the beta, IMO...

Just saying. You get what you're looking for and nothing else. This is not any better than a guy looking for a woman with a PhD degree to be a stay-at-home mom. Not that it can't happen, but it doesn't make much sense.

The fact that the guy is quite aloof/semi-hostile may be a bigger problem...

But do they let us rebind that? Noo...

Hey, you got all the way to Leoric. By the time I woke up today this was all over. This is what I get for sleeping in, I guess.
