Appreciate the update, we very much enjoy seeing the progress and getting a sneak peak what has been happening behind the scenes.
This post will probably never be seen, but one thing that would be nice to at have at least be discussed, is the players ability to zoom out a bit more than what is shown in the current game-play footage of D4. Many of us prefer to zoom out a bit more than what is currently shown on D4, and D3, and it is a very common complaint on PoE. This option would great for many players.
Thank you
They can only set a maximum zoom out distance and allow for zoom in. The reason is that if you allow players to zoom out even more you create the problem of mob aggro and shooting at them outside their engagement distance. The same problem appears in all isometric arpg. If you zoom out more you also have to modify the enemy engagement range in order to have a fair game. And that's not worth it . You zoom out and then what? Cluster fucks of mobs will enrage from across a large area and go out at you at once while you at the same time can overkill them or not . It's not fun after a while. You loose the visual details not to mention. What's next? Getting rid of visuals alltogheter and just play a input based game where you give commands like in chess board games and let the game autoresolve the movements. There is a reason why you set some limits to these things

The man's post was about D2 , he also mentions sorceress...in the D2 forum.

PC.
For me , consoles are a mystery and can't grasp their usefulness. Just like mobile games.

I wish they will take the game seriously this time and do justice to the brand. I have no expectations myself though. I wish we will have at least a pk feature in the open world. But D3 also promised a lot and cut out feature after feature during beta. They also did blogs and listened to the community but in the end it was a mess.
I wish a lot of things for D4 to get right , but I won't be fooled twice.

From what I've seen so far, I got the impression from the Devs that you won't run into random people while roaming except for towns and group events. I could be wrong.

The only diablo game that wasn't open world is Diablo 1 with optional multiplayer.
Diablo 2 and 3 were open world in the sense that you got to explore the world of sanctuary.
Both had optional multiplayer service, with diablo 3 requiring constant connection to the bnet service in order to play.
Diablo 4 will be the same.
That online only requirement is not a gameplay feature. It's a security measure designed to fight piracy . At least according to actiblizzard.
Diablo 4 will feature the optional aspect of partying in large numbers for group events. Or you can engage in those events solo . Just like the pandemonium event of D2. Very hard if tacked solo.
On top of that you will see random players populating the various settlements in game .
How is that a limiting factor in enjoying the game content?
It's like in the case of the TV. You don't like a specific TV channel , you don't go and request for it to shut down. You use the remote to switch to what you like watching or turn the TV off completely.
It's not that hard . The improperly called "open world " is being confused with the mmo aspect of all players sharing the same instance at all times . This is not the case with D4 so far.

Because people have yet to overcome the impossibility to accept the "optional" concept of content that is there NOT FOR EVERYONE. They think that if it's there they are forced to play that way. They fail to understand that they're not the only people in the world and that maybe the majority would use such a feature . It's a feature that it's on top of the base experience, entirely optional, and not necessary to achieve end game.

It's just that I am expecting much more from a Blizzard game. I played Poe almost as muchas D2 , D3 , Titan quest and Grim Dawn.
Out of all , Poe is the only one who have radically different boss fights. From Atziri, to Shaper , to elder.
Each boss require a change of approach, each fight keeps you on the edge and requires you to unlearn the strategy from previous fights.
Different reflexes , timings and change of pace is what we should see between major bosses .
D2 I understand, developed pre 2000, not much to expect.
But D3 was horrible, move around, attack, move around attack.
You would expect them to at least evolve a bit in a title such as Diablo 4.
Then again, one of my biggest faults is still having hope in Blizz. I forget that diablo was actually created by condor, sponsored by blizzard south.

If you chose to go this route , then calm your tits bro.
Apart from the different model, looks exactly the same fight . I was expecting a fatality of some kind based on certain conditions, like a hp threshold.
And btw learn to accept the fact that your opinions are not unanimous. People can really be split into 2 categories. Those who can accept that fact and those who don't.

I think you can go with a golem necro , curse and some kind of main attack, whether melle or ranged.

Mtx and frequent updates means making people play the game over and over in order to give a reason to keep buying cosmetics and stuff.
Easiest way to do that is power creep. Moar difficulty ,moar levels and powerful gear. Moar numbers , numbers ,numbers. Attack, defense, crit and main stat.
If you like that ,then maybe I'm crazy, but that's not arpg.
A good game has some finality to it.
Why not go the route of wow , call it world of diablo and be done with it ?
Trying to reconcile so many aspects from different genres will result in a mess again. You tried with D3 and failed miserably.
Either go Mtx and free to play game or one time purchase and expansions with support along the way.
Why repeat the same mistakes? Why do they think this time will be different. People will rage again after launch.
When you ask money for a game that will have content locked behind MTX you only will enrage the people. Because they paid for a game that will never be complete, never have all content to enjoy.
It's freaking retarded.
Either that or blizz knows that it can rely on the flock of sheeps that will jump on the scam.

Why would you assume it implies that ? They stated that it will be a one time purchase to play and expansions , with microtransactions in between.

Hi there.
I don't know where you got your information but the D3 is in the hands of the classic games team for a long while . The second expansion was canceled and bits of it were released for free in patches while the new class, necromancer was released as paid dlc.
There is no new xpac announced for d3, nor any future support aside from tech support, new infinity power creep 100000000% item changes and some new sets that will in no way make me reinstall d3 again.

Also check the sources in the video description. It smells bad to me . A microtransaction game should be FTP . I'm only talking about cosmetics . I can't comprehend a blizzard title having ptw stuff.
Paid game and expansions should remain pure.
This starts to look like D3 reloaded . Why teh fook experiment again with a genre that is not made for such elements.
The diablo arpgs should only be about story, gameplay , quality and perfection in the long term. What the hell is happening?

There is a big visible line at the end of all their posts and blogs about systems. "Everything is subject to change by release" . Nothing and I mean literally no system they showed before d3 released remained . As they are now , those runes seems good but limited. What I'm concerned the most is the fact that there is no belt slot implemented so far in development and the limited number of sockets. True runewords require at least 3 sockets. I want trigger and 5 rune effects.
