Kill 100 players with Wave of Light and get a rolling boulder instead of a bell. Earthbender monk for the win! :monk:
Kill 100 times with Sweeping Wind (Master of Wind) and get a Tornado with flying cows in it :P Airbender Twister-cow monk for the win!!!

Lol. I like the PvP related stuff. Maybe there could be some for having X achievement points too or other various things through out the game. That'd mix it quite a bit and make something else worth striving for.

posted a message on Itemization patch won't happen until November (confirmed)
    Quote from Zero(pS)

    Really, really "disappoint" :(

There are a lot they could do to make items more compelling for now without revamping the whole system (like making secondary affixes stronger, and making the effects of off-class stats more compelling [dex, str, int]).

I wouldn't even mind if they kept the whole item revamp to the expansion (considering it's as huge as they say it is, and not just "less items drops and stats now roll between 190-250 only" as they hinted previously).

They've also shown they have a clue on how to make Legendary items better and making other Gems viable (with Rubys on weapons), so it's just a matter of following that same trend again :fret:

November? That's 5 freaking months..... on TOP of all the time that has passed since the last big content patch... AND that's a positive expectation. A more realistic one would be next year's March.

First time since launch that I'm actually hugely disappointed with a Diablo 3 related news.

I just hope skill and rune changes don't take this long as well, this game desperately needs more of those to keep things slightly fresh.

Lets just pray that the reason behind the delays are they have something in store for us they haven't mentioned. That's what I make myself believe and by time I'm completely let down (hopefully not) there will be a new patch to mix up the old content just enough to make me play a little bit longer.

P.S. I feel like I can't go anywhere without seeing your posts lol.

 thanks. I'm glad to hear that.

I want more viable Legendaries (specially Shoulders, Chests and Weapons), because those make us look really awesome ;) And also more viable skills/runes, those are a big part of our "aesthetics" too.

    You're welcome :Thumbs Up:

So I hate comparing games to other games because there's always two responses.
    A. This isn't ____ ! If you like it so much go play it type attitude or..
    B. Diablo 3 sucks that game is so much better / That's what Diablo 3 should have been.

So to clear the air before hand I love Diablo 3. Its amazing and I like it more than Path Of Exile (Which is also a great game) but It would still be cool if they used the same basic or altered idea to fit their needs with weapon, armor skins and skill skins like they use in their microtransaction style shop thing. I really like that idea of not only using a cool looking skill but changing the color or giving your helmet a cool spiritual aura, a halo, demon horns, or make your monks wave of light go from a bell to a boulder dropping down would be amazing and it alone would add tons of customization and with the creative juices blizzard has the potential for some incredible and widely varying skins. Although I can see this being a much more intricate process to actually get into the game.

EDIT: Adding this little paragraph here to the original post.

I like the idea of a separate tab just for the armor look. It covers two key areas; You have to hunt for the armor for the look (was probably a given anyway), AND it doesn't eat up precious stash space, because it would be on your toon in the other tab.

I'll +1 you even if it's not completely original, because I'd love this feature implemented this way =)

Thank you lol, I'm not going for credit or originality it's just my take on something thhat'd be nice to see. They could even put some sort of stipulation to make you have to meet some requirements to actually acquire the ability to have a cosmetic tab. Something obtainable obviously. I'm not at all familiar with the WoW trans. because I've never made it past level 40. I just couldn't get into it but I'm sure if it's a popular and has positive feedback with the millions of WoW players it couldn't be a terrible idea. I'm not saying anything against anybody (honestly) but usually people with negative feedback post and complain, people with positive either are too busy playing the game or games or don't have a reason to reply.

This is mind boggling. So you are saying they have the development and design experienced needed to implement this into the game, because they have already done it, but its just "too hard".

Or are you saying that adding this will make it more like the other game?
Well then why did they include yellow quest markers, male and female classes, achievements, damage numbers, hp bars, ect. ect.

Because these aren't WoW features just because they are in WoW, they are just features. Saying, "NO DON'T MAKE IT LIKE WOW" is foolish since WoW took many of its features from Diablo 2.

People want to see features from other games because, gosh, they are fun... But hey, I'm just a troll so discount my opinion and points.
People seriously need to learn how to read.

I never said I don't want transmog because it's a WoW feature. But quite a few people do (you can check the official forums for that).

Also, it's remembered as a "WoW feature" because WoW is a very popular game, and as far as I remember one of the first big titles to implement such system (I wouldn't know for sure though). Dislike it as much as you want, but people don't want features from what's seen as a more "casual" and "cartoony" mmorpg (other people's words, not mine - I don't care about having features from WoW).

I've been an avid defender of having a Transmog-like feature in D3 in all of my past posts, so get your facts together and try to understand the basic idea behind someone else's text before pointing fingers like that.

And yes, implementing something major like that IS hard. You can read my post and Jaetch's again to find out why.

It certainly wouldn't be easy from a design standpoint. Think about how many pieces of armor are in this game. Levels 1- ilvl 63.

I once attempted to make a video of a wizard demonstrating what every single allowable item that a wizard can possibly use, based on level requirements. I gave up 75% of the way through once I got up to the latter armor levels and legendary and set items.

Now do that 9 more times beyond the first. Two of each class, male and female. Now make sure all combinations of items can be properly dyed any combination of colors. Now how will "transforming" the appearances of these items work in the first place? Is there an artisan requirement? Is there material/gold requirement? What additional UI needs to be incorporated?

The concept is easy and straightforward. Implementing it is not going to be. After publicly stating that they love having the option so much that they will implement the feature in a future patch, I can't see why Blizzard will go back on their word for it. Many players seem to care a great deal about gear customization, probably right behind itemization and item quality/drops in general. We will see such a feature in the future, I don't doubt it.

If you're referring to what I've suggested you wouldn't have to do all of that unnecessary work because you would have a separate tab of armor to over lay the current one and all of the appearances already exist along with the dye variations. The only thing you have to do is make the tab, overlay the appearance and make it not alter any of your stats.

I know they've mentioned things like that but this specifically seems very easy to implement. Seeing all they would have to do is add a tab to hold the gear that effects visuals then make their appearance overlay the current armor.

Uhh... please don't. We just had this "it's so easy to implement" discussion a few days ago. And it was even related to gear (can't find it right now).

Like Zero said, they're working on it, but none of us has ever seen the D3 source code and can determine if something is "easy" or "difficult" to implement.

Well obviously everything is easier said then done, but with them know the coding and how it's set up how hard is it to add a tab a simple tab? That most definitely is very simple. Then changing it to where it takes the appearance of one armor over the other would also be along the lines of cancelling out the appearance of the other one instead. The most difficult thing that there would be to it is not having the stats included or glitches relating to have the two sets of armor.

If I recall correctly, a Blizz rep said they are interested in giving us a feature similar to transmogrification and improve character visuals.

They're already working on that by allowing Legendaries to be dyed (although I'd rather see cooler looking legendary armors instead of the strip-tease sadomaso we have now - looking at you Blackthorne's).

It's something they're aware of, and which they'll hopefully improve either in a future patch or in the expansion.

I know they've mentioned things like that but this specifically seems very easy to implement. Seeing all they would have to do is add a tab to hold the gear that effects visuals then make their appearance overlay the current armor.

To start off the idea I'm about to present is one I've gotten from a game called Terraria. In this game you have your armor that actually benefits you then a separate set of armor that only effects the visuals. I feel like this could easily be implemented into diablo with a tab under your inventory where you can equip your aesthetic only gear. For example you could be wearing a Mempo and not like the look but mayb you love the way the full set of i63 armor looks and equip that full set instead with your choice of dyes on them.

If I had more time I would photoshop an image to give you a visual on how I imagine this working but for all of you who've played diablo 2 imagine it being like weapon switching, or switching stash tabs except with gear that only effects the way you look. Maybe not implementing this on weapons themselves because making a sword look like a spear just seems kind of "off".

Disclaimer: I did no research to see if any ideas like this have been thrown around before but I haven't come across any and if somebody has posted on this before they deserve all credit.

Not intended as an offense, but do we really care about this?

So what if people can hack their games and make their characters uber powerful? It's not a competitive game. And what are people going to do after making their character near perfect in a game that's about hunting loot? Just randomly kill stuff? That will surely make the game feel boring as hell to them, and they'll leave, which is just fine.

Without the AH, public games (which I'm not sure we'll have) and the need for a "balanced MMO economy" I couldn't care less that people are able to decide what they're gonna do with their own gaming experience.

It's more about the appeal of having these great items that nobody else does or having near perfect or perfectly rolled gear that's better thane every body else. Obviously there will always be people trying to exploit a game and I've done it myself when it comes to being bored of it, then taking it to a new level getting more enjoyment out of it from modding or altering things about it. But what I want is the feel of D2. No auction house and it taking more work and time to get exactly what you want or finding the right person to trade the right piece of gear to, to get the last thing you need. I really miss that little bit of extra effort it took. I fall into that category of people who wish D3 was more like D2 and this is more of a chance to get that feeling without the AH being so easily available but with trading and saving up or bargaining for items is what is in place of that.

What I hope to never see is a scenario where "Holy crap, nice weapon. Can you dupe it for me?" plays out or is even possible.

EDIT: Any game can be competitive btw lol and I like to be better than average.

EDIT 2: If it's going to be as simple as a USB transfer, drop, save, reload. Then it's going to be saving up a highly stackable item at first. Duping the hell out of it = unlimited gold. Crafting the best gear. Game over.

Well the data is easily accessible, it is not cross-checked with server, so it seems it might be possible. It may however use some kind of encoding, or other method of obscuring the data, making it almost impossible. If it is simple plain-text or binary, then it's a matter of days. Can't tell for sure right now, as I have no knowledge of the file used nor of the systems on the console.

Blizzard is usually really good about preventing stuff like that but it is on console and there is no battle.net integration or server side anything. Hopefully it's avoided somehow or at least made extremely difficult to accomplish where it won't become popular over night.

This quote here making it easily available to getting your character on to a flash drive and makes me think of borderlands or any other game since characters aren't going to be server side and being able to play the game off line opens tons of possibilities for hacking, modding etc. Since it also will not be used through battle.net in any way shape or form won't altering items, stats etc be very easy once we/they understand how to alter the coding on the save or simply hex editing and with no obstacles to get around It seems, once discovered it'd spread extremely fast potentially causing issues such as it was in borderlands? Correct me if I'm wrong, which I hope I am and it won't be as easy as it seems?

posted a message on New Game Feature: Player Rankings (w/ pictures!)
I just wish there was a Ladder in general which kept track of the basic things, Paragon level, elite kills, gold earned etc which reset every few months and a new game option which excludes the AH completely but some sort of implementation such as Diablo 2s custom named games so trading could still happen. Hell I'd even be happy just using the trade chat alone. I like the AH version of the game but you can get like 100M for $3.. That's just too easy and too cheap. I'd play all 3 versions still. Especially when an expansion came out. Hop back on the old AH characters just to mess around, test stuff out find new items etc then go play seriously on the no AH version and Ladder mode. As of a few months ago I quit. Came back, my gear was worthless obviously. Spent $7 fully geared my wizard and barb for MP7 played a few days and it got old since, unless drops are near perfect stats then they are worth very little.

Edit: I don't think any of the new game modes would render the AH mode obsolete because I feel only the gamers who lean towards the hard-core side or want more of a D2 feel to the game would play them leaving the less time dedicated players sticking with the AH since it would be easier and progression would be much faster.

posted a message on Console Forum Category - Suggestion
I just think there should be a console forum category implemented so people can start theory crafting and there can be stickies to include all information relating to the console version to answer any questions or be a go to for any info on it such as there will be NO auction house and topics to theory craft or how-tos adjusting for game differences/changes from PC to console. I would definitely like to see this since I will be getting it for console as well.
