posted a message on Rift Stat Calculators
I haven't seen this mentioned, but feel it's a basic addition that would really make a rift run, A LOT more fun!!!!!

At the end of the Rift when it's completed I would like to see a run down of stats... here are some examples.

    • Amount of Elite Kills
    • Overall Damage inflicted to Elites
    • Overall Damage inflicted to Rift Boss
    • Overall Damage inflicted during the Rift.
    • Amount of Monsters killed.
    Among many other possibilities.

It's something that would keep people from going back to town to sell and keep them pushing forward to help the onslaught. ( That is if people care about it)

It could also add a bunch of trophies or achievements i.e. Be the first in 10; 20; 50 rifts in this category.

    Any thoughts???

Thanks! Trance.fm I'll check it out. I've been great, finally getting into my Barb build and it's SOOOO much more fun getting into the mix rather than running away from it with my DH. You?

I'm curious as to the music that posters on here play D3 to. I usually have a diverse playlist when I'm playing but lately the Doom/ Death Metal has been a lot of fun, hours go by before I know it.

My favorite right now is Enshine, album Origin.

    How about others? Any recommendations?

I love the Diablo franchise, but I'm a very naive gamer. I pre-ordered D3, and woke up at 3:00 am only to be disappointed with several other thousand gamers. But have still played throughout the many up's and down's.

    I have a DH Paragon 35, and a Monk at Paragon 2.

I haven't spent a dime of my money at the auction house, and my strong point isn't hawking items on the AH just sell them for more later. I do feel that I'm good at this game, if that can really be said, I love going through each skill and finding little niche fighting styles with the different builds.I didn't stay away from the AH, I used it for gold and selling items that I wouldn't use, but I never found anything extravagant. But I don't feel that my lack of economic skills at moving items should hold me back from progressing the best character that I can.

I feel that I've gotten my value from the amount of time I've put into the game, but it hit me today why I feel I won't play again. I was playing with a friend of mine who finally leveled his DH to 60, and purchased items for about $10 which made his DH SO much better than mine. Of course it might feel fake but it really took away the gaming experience that I was looking for away.

After about 350 hours into this game, I must be silly to want that time to mean something that $10 can't beat out.

Very cool read, I really like the plot and the direction you would like the story to go. To add on, what playable characters would you have for the expansion?

Wonder if this will change in 1.04? With the adjustment of skills and runes not commonly used what will the down stream effects be?

posted a message on New legendary items ???
Thanks for the responses, it's weird for me. I'm a lvl 60 DH stuck in act two not trying to run my way through it. I want to be strong enough to hold my own and not run. Not sure that's a choice that I have now :).

My main point was, the legendaries are SO rare that I'm more apt to try to equip one when the stats aren't worth it, is anybody else feeling this way?

posted a message on New legendary items ???
With new "exciting, and unexpected" legendary items coming to the game in this new 1.04 patch, is everyone feeling like I am in the sense that they don't want to farm in inferno until the patch is released?

I know that whatever items that I find now will most likely be insufficient going forward.

    Thoughts??

Knowing that us Diablo fans, or 95% of us, played on the PC, who will be the target audience they are hoping to grasp by producing the console games? Or is it as simple as.... I want to play the same game on my couch?

I hope not, I think it would be a really bad idea. The controls would not be as great on a console as on the computer (which is the primary reason why I usually buy rpg games on a computer instead of a console). And since the console doesn't work together, it would be impossible for a pc user to play with a friend that has diablo on his ps3 for instance which would decrease the number of overall player for each console.

    Final Fantasy XI says hello.

Cross console gaming with pcs are entirely doable FFXI did it to great success. You just don't see it often because M$ is a pita for developers wanting to control it all via xbox live. (Square Enix was very vocal about how hard it was for them to get FFXI onto xbox and why they arent even going to bother with FFXIV for it due to Xbox wanting a large cut of the subscriber revenue)

If anything unless Blizzard has some magical relationship with M$ and they can cut through all their policies with xbox live being its own little self contained internet. I won't be surprised if Xbox doesn't get a port. And everyone is aware with PS3 memory issues so until I see them demoing a console version I won't be shocked if their console goals just kinda fade away.

Personally I will get it on console (assuming its a good port) I'll get it for PC of course but nothing beats the comfort of a couch. Console gaming is different of course but I'll use FFXI as a example I started playing it on PC. When I caved in and got it for a console and got used to the controls it was almost painful to go back to a keyboard. A testament to how well PC games that are typically mouse and keyboard can do if the controls are mapped well.

FF was always a console game ported to the PC for FFXI. Plus it's a completely different genre with completely different controls.

If we need a model for good comparison I would look to what Bethesda has done recently, marring the Skyrim PS3 version. They make quality games across all platforms, mostly first person, which makes the controls more fluid in changing styles, but they all have their own quirks.

I was shocked to find how well the Oblivion port played on my PS3, but that was more first person.

What I like on this site is that, yes, most of us are PC fans but nobody is trashing the console play. ( Unlike the alternative that I hear all the time on IGN)

@Emry's - I agree with you that you need to open up the ability for more people to play the game, but I disagree that their target audience for a D&D slasher isn't already in tune with the game. The port will cost more money for them without the addition of enough "new" players to justify the ROI.

Best guess as to the percentage of Diablo 3 purchased through each console?

Obviously the PC version will be more successful out the gate but will the consoles make up ground? Who is Blizzards target audience with the port? Gamers who have played Diablo will go PC, or am I missing something?

    PC - 65%
    XBox - 20%
    PS3 - 15%

What level difficulty does your hardcore Character have to play through? I'm sure there will be achievement requirements determining difficulty regardless, but at least I could get used to creating a hardcore character build without dying right off the bat.
