its a new thread each week. And there are new members every week. It gets posted on Friday, and Sunday and that is it (winners get posted monday)Quote from Benegesserit
You know there were lots of beta key giveaways by users in the forums and we didn't see spam for that. Can we just stop with the item giveaway thing in the news? It's clearly just an ongoing thing so just link the thread, people can bookmark it and we'll be done with it. Something happening every week isn't actually news. Might as well tell me the sun is going up as a news post.
Due to new people joining all the time, we will keep posting it, but we have it small, and at the bottom.
I also should add I have google statistics showing new people checking it out for the first time due to the link.
Im all for any other ideas tho? But now that it's small and at the bottom, there is not much more that can be done with it. -

Your analogy is actually pretty funny because I used to work at an athletic facility with a pool. Once a year we had to drain the pool for a week to do maintenance. Every once in a while someone would have an accident or the water would get contaminated for a while, and we'd have to shut the pool down. Also power outages, fire alarms, thunder storms. All sorts of things could render the pool unavailable.
We routinely had to say "yes, I am sorry. You have a pool membership, but the pool is just not available right now. This is part of running a pool." Some people occasionally canceled membership, but most understood because they liked our pool. It was an awesome pool on the 5th floor with a view of Central Park. Trekking out to Coney Island to swim in cold ocean water was not a preferable alternative, so they stayed members.
This reminded me of my last vacation.
I took a few days with my fiance and we went to a polynesian-style resort. It's in Orlando, Florida and they had an awesome pool. We had just went away to some theme parks not long before that and I wanted to just hang around the pool, work on my tan a little, I had designated time off from work, and so did she so we can enjoy our stay at the resort. Unfortunately, it rained a lot and we weren't able to use the facilities as we wanted to. We understand that stuff comes up and happens and it's all gravy.
I'm a restaurant manager and the food analogy is another one I can relate to. I've had people order 20 wings, eat 15 of them and say "they were too dry, they were too wet, under-cooked, overcooked, etc." I look at them and explain that if they would've alerted their server to the problem we would have happily taken it off their bill. However, we have a policy where if people eat a majority of the food, there is nothing that we can do about, and it's to prevent certain unscrupulous individuals from taking advantage of a razor-thin margin business.
Blizzard is probably far from being a razor thin business, and the resort can't control the rain, but it's the same principles of human understanding I think that matter most. -

There is no "overreaction" if the whole thing is based on S.Korean law!
I'm pretty sure the government won't take any actions if there is no legal base for this action.
So these players who want their money back (which I can totally understand - since the connection issues are f*cking ridiculous)
may have all the right to demand it back.
I'm fed up of this new age "buy it or leave it"-crap the gaming-community is mutating into. All this positive-thinking BS plays into the hands of the big corps, may it game companies like Blizzard or any other form of todays commercial areas.
It's bad enough that most of the big players give a sh*t about the communities/customer complains, but we have a right to say what we think about their product and to return it like any other purchased product if there are any "defects".
How do you hurt a corporation? Don't buy their products.
Customers have a right to returned purchases but this isn't Walmart where you can use something for a year then hand it back with a receipt. How about I buy some diapers have a kid shit in them, then wash them then ask for a return? If someone has put 20+ hours into something you shouldn't be entitled to a refund. 20 hours of entertainment for anything else in the world could total up to thousands of dollars yet people gripe about $60.
If you want to get into the "defect" claim I think their needs to be established terms and understanding of what qualifies defective in the gaming industry. Defect to me means it doesn't work, the game works fine and the servers have been okay and will only get better.
I'm fed up of this new age "whine about everything in life"-crap the gaming-community is mutating into. -

I am tired of pussy games without challenges. I am giggling with glee when I get gibbed. I laughed my ass off, as I unloaded on the butcher with my little wiz, and he proceeded to grapple me into the fire basically squashing me in about 2 seconds. LAUGHED.
I understand the appeal of being overpowered, but I think people can't see past their noses in that regard. I like to pick the underdogs simply for that reason, and to see if I can't make it work.
In a game like this, challenging is *good*. I could understand if it was extreme, and some spells didn't flat out work, but I'm level 20 right now, and I've certainly not felt underpowered, and I don't even have the best spells yet.
TLDR: challenging is more interesting than being overpowered. -

CorDa616 posted a message on DIABLO 3 GAMEPLAN!My gameplan is LITERALLY going to be this.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
Ten steps before
1) Camp outside gameshop for midnight release for my CE
2) Get home and hug the box to my body for about five minutes
3) Slowly open it, I might even see a light coming from it as I open it
4) Unbox everything, placing it delicately on my bed
5) Scan over it lovingly for about a minute
6) Place the skull next to my screen, inserting the soulstone with care
7) Grab the game, rip over the cover and pop the dvd into the drive in record time
8) Start installing
9) Very impatiently wait for it finish with all the updates, patches and other stuff.
10) Squeal like a little girl when I start playing and die of happiness
Ten steps after
1) Touch, poke and prod everything that can be touched, poked and prodded
2) Explore every dungeon, cave, hole, etc
3) Listen to everything everyone says with meticulous care
4) Read every lore entry I get
5) Run around all the main bosses for about two minutes just so that I can look at them properly and learn their attack style.
6) Repeatedly kill said bosses until I know their AI quite well
7) Watch every cinematic at least twice
8) Finish Normal
9) Go back and kill every boss again for a chance of better gear
10) Rush through Nightmare and Hell and most likely die in inferno.
I CANNOT wait...
5 Days, 8 Hours, 26 Minutes and give or take a second. I'm READY! - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.
