posted a message on Fetish "army"
All in all what are you guys upset about? The visual of the skill? Would you be more happy with 10 fetish doing 10% damage each? (Rather than the current 5 fetish doing 20%) Because if so, that is probably an easy fix for Blizzard to make if you voice your concern enough in the appropriate way...

The reasons why I would think Blizzard would be against increasing the amount of fetish is:
    1) Too many distractions for the monster AI to attack, making it too easy for players to sit in the back and cast. (Look at the Diablo 2 necro. Almost impossible to die with the right summoner build. You can run up to a mob of 30 enemies, and likely none will target your necro, they will attack your minions instead. How are you expected to die, or even considered to 'balanced' compared to a barb that has to attack all 30 by himself?). Maybe they are trying to prevent something like that from happening.

    2) Too much movement and distractions on the screen... even in just a 4 player game, that can get a little out of control, especially a party full of witch doctors all casting that move... again going back to the necro... 1 necro with maxed out summoner army was enough to lag games pretty bad... I think they don't want that happening again.

As far as the skill itself, I can see use and potential for it... like Nokturnal said, it's not all about DPS or damage, if your focus is only one that 1 specific stat, I doubt you'll last long in later difficulties...

I like the little edition of these books, I like hearing the stories, it's interesting. :) I'm glad they have this in the game. Even if they only give you XP in the end (I'm not sure what else to expect), I'd be happy with that. :) I hope to see more lore from the actual Diablo books... particularly including the necromancer Zayl. :)

posted a message on No more used games?
I'm not a big console fan, it's the limited controls that I hate the most... it was fun growing up on a console, but ever since I got into computer games, I've never really looked back at console. I even have a PS3 with 0 games... I just use it for Netflix and a cheap storage drive and blue ray player, haha.

I think it is a smart move to stop the use of used games... developers make no money on those games... If one GameStop had 1 copy of Red Dead Redemption, and someone played it, beat it, done with it, traded it in for something else, and another kid comes in and buys that used copy, does the same thing, over and over... multiple customers played off one game, and the developers only get paid for that one copy... the rest just goes right to GameStop. Which is unfortunate.

This will bring money back to developers, I think it's a good move. Pretty soon everything will be bought online through an account like Steam is what I'm guessing... way cheaper for developers to send you a file than to send you a DVD copy of the game.

posted a message on Anyone else trust Blizzard?
    Trust what?

Trust that Blizzard, as a game developer, will continue to develop good games? Well I would have to say yes I trust that logic... if not, they probably won't be around much longer, right? Blizzard has a huge fan-base and they have created some very good games over the years... they've spent years developing Diablo 3, trying to make it appealing to all sorts of gamers... I trust that they made a good game... and if they didn't, then oh well, I'll play it for as long as I can, then move onto something different?

People upset about Diablo 3 looking or feeling different than Diablo 3 has to realize that it is 12 YEARS we're talking about... you can't have the same product, it would fail miserably.

Let me give you an example... Duke Nukem 3D released in 1996 vs Duke Nukem Forever 2011..
Took them 15 years to make the new one, and it sucks. Wanna know why? Because they took something successful in the 90's, and tried to re-create the same thing almost 2 decades later, that just doesn't work... same corny 90's punchlines too. haha.

I'm probably one of the few that actually appreciates Diablo 3 for evolving from Diablo 2... I don't really want to play Diablo 2 anymore. Thank-you Blizzard for making Diablo 3! Not Diablo 2.5

There is a major difference between discussing or showing how it is done.

If they provide a link to a botting program then actions can be taken, but discussing the repercussions of botting isn't all that bad.

That really is the bottom line... it's one thing to talk about a terrorist attack that has happened, it's another to talk about how to go about planning such an attack, and the possibilities of doing so... all they are doing is discussing the impact of botting, nothing about how to bot, where it's possible, and how to do it... nothing wrong with that.

Seriously show me when you do. I've been irritable for weeks now over trying to find the best 27 inch for my money.

I just bought 3 AOC 27" monitors. They had them on sale at Fry's Electronics for $200 a piece. Pretty cheap for a 27". Decent specs, and overall pretty good quality. Depends if you want suburb quality, suburb price, or a little of both...
One of the 3 had a few dead pixels, so I returned it same day and got a new one no prob.
Samsung also makes some pretty good 27" monitors for pretty cheap.
I went from a 23" to a 27" and it's awesome, totally worth it... the dual monitor setup is great too for gaming in full-screen and watching streams/videos/forums on the other display. Good luck!

posted a message on Already paid for digital, no reduced cost on CE version?
I actually called for this very question... my friend plays WoW and wanted the WoW Beta and all the perks with the digital D3 copy. But he also wanted the Collector's Edition. So we called Blizzard (after being on hold for 50 minutes) they told us that he can buy the Collector's Edition, and they will remove the original key, and take off a few months off his WoW service... so basically he plays WoW for free for a few months (That is the difference in cost between the digital and the CE).

Now a few of my other friends (myself included) wanted to get the CE edition, and we did not buy the WoW pass... we got ours from BestBuy and they are still unsure if they are going to do a midnight release. We are going to have small party at my house the night of D3's release, and we ALL wanted to play, not just the ones that bought WoW pass or digital copy.

So when we talked to Blizzard we also asked about that situation. "Hi I bought the CE edition from a store, if they don't do a midnight release, can I just download the digital copy and play during the midnight launch, then later go into the store to pick up CE, do you just refund the digital copy?"

Blizzard customer service said that they will refund you for the original copy. He did say however, that if I'm going to do something like that, I should buy the game 7-10 days before the release. If I buy it too soon (like right now) it might give me trouble for how long ago the purchase was made. If I buy it too late, it won't post on my credit card account, and they can't refund something that hasn't been processed yet... just further delaying the whole process.

So if you're getting the WoW pass and you want to upgrade to the CE edition, it looks like they will just take away the cost of some of the months of your WoW subscription.

If you're getting the CE as an upgrade from the original edition, they will just out-right refund your money of the original, once the CE has been added to your battle.net account.

I am getting it. you people saying "too much money?"
get a better job... i support things i enjoy in life including diablo and make plenty enough to do so
:D it sounds like you are working just to be able to buy games, what a stupid thing to do in life.Because there are more inportant things just to waste money on some games :D. But whatever, not all people are like you who lives just for game, and will do all just to get some stupid collectors editions witch gives you nothing more than standart edition. You have same lvl cap, same chars, same relese date, and same opening servers time.So whats makes you so special with your better job then others?I will answear my question in your place.Your stupid childish brains makes you special, becsuse others are not so dumb, to waste money on some CE.But you I guess would hang yourself if you wouldnt get CE(collectors edition).

Okay so if by buying the Collectors Edition gets Nokturnal NOTHING more than the standard edition, then he is basically giving Blizzard an extra $40 dollars... who cares? Even if you see it as "a waste" or a "donation", what is wrong with that? He is spending more for a game he has been waiting for, and he has the means to do so... who are you to criticize that? People support certain organizations all the time with extra funds.

I think it is very honorable for Nokturnal to support Blizzard, and buy the CE if he wants it. That's his right and his choice. Unless you are his financial adviser, I would say that you should just mind your own business.

I know I'm a musician and I love Diablo's music, so getting the soundtrack from them will be worth it for me. I also I want to see the "behind the scenes" and more in depth on how they made it, or the reasoning behind certain changes and adjustments throughout the games development... I'm also an art-fan, and I would love to see the sketches and concept art book...
LASTLY, I love Diablo overall, I love Blizzard and all their games, and I love all the great moments I've had playing with all my friends in Diablo 2, and the moments I will have playing Diablo 3, and all those great times you can't put a dollar value on...

Some people might see it as "A cardboard box with plastic things just to make more money" but to some of us it's beyond what's physically included in the box, okay?
