I hate that I'll be missing the release for D3... I work now, so I can't make the (here in Quebec it's illegal to have workers starting before 8 or something, so midnight release don't exist... instead we get 8AM releases, as opposed to 10AM on any other day) release that early. I did preorder off Walmart.ca, so if anyone is wondering: They are STILL taking preorders!
Lol ya'll be crazy. I usually show up a little over an hour before any of these events, BUT I make sure I go to stores located more on the outskirts of town. I suggest you scout out a nice little store that'll be hosting an event, but it as far from downtown as you're willing to go. The farther away from the masses, the less people show up. That frees up a lot of time for you... no need to go right after work... that would be a long and very boring wait.
For SC2, I showed up about an hour and fifteen minutes before stores opened for the event and was 5th in line. It's only when there's about an hour left that people really start showing up. And MOST stores have limited quantities on CEs, so make sure you're at least in the first 20 in line before you waste your time waiting for a product they've already sold out of (to the people in front of you.) I say you scout the stores about 2 hours before they open (just to be super safe... because it IS Diablo 3), and wait in your car if you don't see a huge line. Once people start showing up OR you get to the T-minus 1.25h mark, just go stand in line.
Anyways... I'd like to think I've done enough of these to be able to give out advice about how to do it.
The line is usually pretty fun though. I've ALWAYS met up with really cool and interesting new people while doing these. Like-minded individuals congregating for something they're ALL super excited about... Ya, it's great. I don't suggest you bring anything... that's just for the hardcore line people. Unless it's cold... bring a coat or something.
JUST bought a 27' in preparation for Diablo! So far I'm loving it... although it IS a little TOO big. Whatever, I'll just get used to it. Big step up from my laptop's 16'
You are right about the Novas and exploding chests though. Seems like they took those out. I was slightly disappointed... Then again, I play DH, so those things (unless we're talking trapped chests) wouldn't really affect me. I can roll away and shoot barrels from a distance!
When Cata came out I had a hell of a hard to studying. Graduated in December, so I'm all good to go on the 15th and onwards... Work might get in the way for 8 hours a day, but I just have to remind myself that without the job there's be no Diablo 3... So I press on. Good luck to all you gaming college peeps... I know how it feels when Blizzard (purposely?) release a game during finals... I'm rootin' for y'all!
Whoever is having issues with this game seriously needs to research their shit and buy a new computer. I'm running beta on high on a 1-year old laptop. It's all about looking at GPU benchmarks, processor speeds, and comparing prices. Don't buy an HP at Bestbuy expecting it to run anything and everything on Ultra. Won't happen.
I guess that's why I still consider PC gaming to be above console gaming. Most PC gamers are a lot more savvy... Makes gaming a little more admirable.
If you haven't bought a collector's edition by now you will likely not be able to find one.
Not true. Just go to Bestbuy or whatever for their midnight/8am opening, show up about 1h-45min before it opens, and you should be able to snatch one up. That's what I do for every big Blizz release, and always manage to pick up a collector's edition.
You know, Blizzard is still making and maintaining WoW if that's more your "cup-o-tea". 4 players should be fine. It'll be a nice break from the thousands standing around in Org and slowing the whole game down. Now we have nice little stable servers we can all party up in and enjoy.
Wow is a good starting place to figure that one out. Gold sinks are just tools used to counter the fact that an infinite amount of gold can drop from enemies. Of course some players can learn how to play the economy in their favor and control large chunks of gold despite the sinks. Blizzard is usually good at balancing things though. I'm not too worried.
I have every Blizzard collectors edition of games from the last 2 years, but I also picked up the annual pass... I might get this collector's though! I want D2, the USB stick is 4GB which could come in handy, I love art books, I love SC2 avatars, and the WINGS!!! Ya, I recently got a new job, so I'll definitely be able to afford paying of my annual pass and upgrading my game. I just hope Futureshop or Bestbuy doesn't sell out. I never reserved because I wasn't sure if I'd have the post-graduation job in time for the D3 launch :/
Anyways, I think it's worth it! I love my SC2 and Cata collectors.
Dune (1984) is there a finer scifi movie?....erm i think not.
When SyFy channel makes a better dune adaptation ... well, enough said.
Silent House: 5/10. Not scary and quite predictable. Me and the wife guessed the ending about 15 minutes in. We just thought it was bad acting, though. LOL. Loved how the movie was shot though. Quite unique.
The 1984 version of Dune was a masterpiece to all those who have enough braincells to appreciate it,to anybody else i would imagine a southpark remake of dune would entertain them more
Sorry, but after reading the book the movie just sucks. I read it, was excited to watch the movie, stopped watching after 15min. It was horrendous!! If you have enough brain cells to read, do yourself a favor and forget the movie ever existed.
