It's all about forum culture and it seems that on the various Curse sites the flaming, aggressive arguments, and trolling are expected and possibly even encouraged to some degree. There are several other high user forums on the internet that do not have this issue but it's a combination of culture and some pretty dedicated moderation staff. Not digging the mods here but if you want to drive behavior you have to show people consequences for actions. It's basic human behavior.
I will reference PA because I like it, and it's one of the best run forums on the net. Several years ago it was starting to fall apart and they instituted a simple and honestly silly global rule. They called it the Glorious Edict. The only tolerated "insult" was to call someone a Silly Goose. If you said anything else there were consequences, jail and up to banning. I know it sounds stupid but it worked. They also run a pretty tight ship across the board. Want some ideas, look here http://bit.ly/LNeQVJ.
Again, my intent is not to rip on the staff or the culture here. I like it here, but I think there are some things that could improve and would make it better. Hopefully things will change because as was already said the tone around here is degrading into official forums territory pretty quickly.

We just lost our best dps builds. If you care at all about farming, those mana changes hurt.

With that out of the way, they could focus on making legendaries worth while. At least we'd have something to keep us busy while we looked forward to the legendary changes. Instead, we're forced to wait for them to code the legendary changes (I assume that's the source of the long wait). Hopefully they're adding fun abilities on the new legendaries that require extra code.
I just hope they learned from their release mistakes. Blizzard needs to release some examples of legendaries BEFORE they release the game/patch so they can see the reaction from the userbase. It's obvious that Blizzard is out of touch with what the users want in regard to certain aspects of the game. Any Diablo fan could have told Blizzard that those vanilla legendaries were not exciting.
//edit: To actually stay on topic, I'm guessing the long silence is because the patch isn't very near and they don't have anything to talk about. Late Aug at the earliest? I hope that's not the case though, I was expecting sooner.

He had a point though.
Things ARE selling on the gold AH still. You guys are just putting up crap items. Saying it's because people are quitting the game is just silly and a bit ignorant.
Here's what is happening... I'll break it down:
* More people are hitting Inferno and farming Act 1
* Act 1 is dropping more loot with the new patch so the amount of so-so items has skyrocketed
* People already have so-so items (or better) and are after upgrading their gear with high quality items
So basically, demand is down for so-so items and supply is up so people aren't buying them any more. It's a basic economic principle. As a result, the minimum quality of items that sell has increased.

Fixed your fix.

So the fact that they mentioned rares with 1 affix doesn't bother you at all? Blizzard is known for releasing information about their games that is 100% false. It's not having a tin-foil hat, it's knowing what blizzard is like with their "guides".
//edit: Also, that neck you are refering to has 4 affixes. I do not believe a rare can have 3 affixes (it can only appear to have less than 4)
Affix 1 - min damage
Affix 2 - max damage
Affix 3 - min & max damage
Affix 4 - Socket

Well the problem is that you could get a roll of:
Affix #1 - 20 Dex
Affix #2 - 20 Str
Affix #3 - 20 Dex & 20 Str
Affix #4 - 40 Vit
The item will simply look like +40 Str, +40 Dex, +40 Vit. You will think it's a 3 affix item (and have no way of telling that it's actually a 4 affix item). I don't think there's a way to know if it's 3 or 4 affixes unless one of the attributes exceeds the normal max amount of a single + Dex affix.
