Please explain how and where you are getting this information. I don't think you have any professional experience in the industry do you? :-/

Server farms range from hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars to set up and maintain. I can really start quoting the overhead if i need to.
Hundreds of thousands isn't much to a company like Blizz. And costs have been dropping a lot over the years. A single server is less than $1k these days, which is actually really cheap.

Also, as i said... over building a server farm is EXPENSIVE. Basically what blizzard is doing is taking some other machines and turning them into temporary authentication servers... and programming the load balancer to push them into the pool. This is a temporary fix to the problem that will naturally go away.
Servers are cheap. They just don't scale linearly.

But really, it's not a problem they can throw money at to fix I'm sure. Blizzard has tons of money to throw at stuff.

Which is why they should have fixed this a while ago. It's going to take a long time to fix.

Servers are NOT cheap... wtf are you talking about? I think you are confusing servers with storage.....
Servers are really cheap. Storage is a joke.

Let's put it this way, servers are cheap to the average American. Servers are nothing to a billion dollar corp. If they wanted to buy a million of them, they could write a check and not notice the money is gone.

Just remember that this is likely to be one of the best games ever made once the servers are stabilized. :)
It'll be great and I look forward to playing, but not remembering that they completely failed the launch isn't the right thing to do.

Do you know anything... i mean ANYTHING AT ALL about networking?

Do you know what a denial of service attack is ? Do you realize that this many people hitting their servers at once is the same as a massive DoS attack?

Or you do you just want to complain more... just like you did about everything diablo 2?
wtf are you talking about diablo 2 for?

But really. DoS attacks can only happen when you aren't expecting the traffic. If you know that 382947u23894892348923489yhwefuhs328942 people are going to log in at the same time, you better prepare for it.

Aren't you the WoW head that said you don't like diablo 2 because <insert everything under the moon> ?
    Never played it.

GW2 is you comparison point... oh my that is the problem right there These two games are not even close to the same size both in player base and in scale of the system that has been developed for D3
One comparison point, because it was only a few weeks ago.

Only Blizzard titles are that big...
    Not true at all.

Not that it matters, since they knew how many people would be playing and had plenty of time to prepare. A smaller game may need less servers, but they still need enough to handle everyone.

GW2 failed at this on the first beta weekend, they fixed it in 20 minutes.

Like any other huge title! (also all of the wow expansions and the game itself)... no point for all you kids to whine about it! And I bet that even if you whine, you'll still grind mindlessly until both physically and mentally exhausted! :tyrael:
This only happens with Blizzard titles.

The achievements are for getting 2 to 60. 1 normal and 1 HC I'd assume.

If they raise the level cap, they have to add a new difficulty level. They can't raise inferno in case people don't get the expansion. So I'm fairly sure they'll never raise the cap.

No they won't. Inferno is just all the content, with every monster 1 level above you. It would be very easy to keep Normal, nightmare, hell, inferno. If you buy the exp and level to (let's say 70) every time you go into inferno, the monsters level would be 71. If you're still level 60, then they would be 61. They don't need a new difficulty mode, because that's what the new content in the expansion pack will be.
Then people who buy the expansion can never play with people who don't have it. It would divide the population in half and possibly kill the game.

The only way they could possibly raise the level cap, is to raise it for everyone, for free. It's not like a higher level cap would do anything. They could easily add new zones, skills, and new classes without touching the level cap.

What does everyone think a higher level cap would do? Make the game more grindy?

They're back to being okay, at best. They still rarely attack more than once. The whole precasting thing does have some uses though.

They started on D3 before LoD. If they haven't finished something by now, don't expect it to ever be added.

Its a great skill i dont know why are people still arguing about it.

It has 360% wep.dmg over 15 seconds, low mana cost and it will deliver dmg 100%. If it kills an enemy while its active it jumps to another mob and it resetes. Its like another free spell.

So yea ... cast 2 or 3 haunts and reinforce it with some additional dmg and this skill is one of the best in game.
360% weapon damage to each mob over 15 seconds. Firebomb x 3 with conflagration rune, 330% to each mob over 3 seconds. It gets even worse when you compare it to a real skill. Firebats with the PBAoE rune is 600% for example.
