Her voice fit's in perfect with the lore and I like it. Also a word of caution. Bluejay, you're already gettin a rep as a whiner, I'd personally stop making nitpicking threads.

That's what happens when you make threads before doing proper research. You end up looking a whiny child. In fact, I bet his voice sounds a lot like what he hates about the Wizard.

Also if I don't get banned by then I plan on making a thread and updating it daily with the progress of where I am. If I fail, whatever I still had fun ha. If I succeed then again, whatever I did what I said I would and could do. Life moves on.

I guarantee you don't make this thread. You'll probably disappear from these forums promptly upon release.

Did you even read the backstory of the wizard posted on the reveal site? Go read it. Maybe you'll get a clue after that. You can't say something doesn't belong until you have an idea of what does belong.

    Clueless morons are clueless.

    Quote from keldaur1

Many around here forgot that LoL had it's e-sport status thanks to it's popularity, streamers and the tourneys, in which, Riot games had nothing to do till later on. People should get their facts straight before saying LoL is an e-sport because Riot supported it. Riot supported it when there was already a fanbase and interest on watching it, which was a good move for a game you don't really know how it's going to work, but community made that possible.

Dude, you've got your facts completely wrong. Riot supported the e-sports aspect of the game from the get-go. There was a ladder system and season one started shortly after the beta. Of course there were already people interested in the game and playing it, it was free.

You are wrong if you think that LoL would have anywhere near the amount of $$ involved in it if Riot wasn't supporting it. THE MONEY HAS TO COME FROM SOMEWHERE.

You want D3 to be an e-Sport? I hope you have deep pockets.

Adon, howabout you comment on this argument? You seem to be completely ignoring it because you clearly have no counter. If D3 is to become a competitive e-Sport, someone will have to fund it. I'm afraid that competitive players aren't really attracted to games that are not balanced around the competition.

posted a message on wizard short story (SPOILERS WITHIN)
so.... in the story, the guy that the head of the mage clans is talking to, is an assassin. like, the d2 assassins. the ones that are called up when some mage goes rogue (i.e. the backstory for the wizard).

    in your opinion is this:

    a. foreshadowing an expansion class
    b. foreshadowing an encounter that you will have in d3 with an assassin
    c. just something that they will pursue outside of the game in lore-books.

I think people are going to be quite flustered when they hit a wall in Nightmare and have to say to themselves "OK... I keep dying... maybe I need to farm some items before I can continue on.."

Or maybe they'll just be the suckers paying exorbitant prices for my rares on the RMAH to try and blast through.. lol. Enjoy your world first I'll enjoy my $$.

posted a message on Without Ladder Resets, D3 Replayability is Doomed.
#1 Your remark about HC is folly - there is no RMAH in Hardcore.

#2 There is no way to predict the flow of items onto the RMAH. It will be a few months before enough people are farming Inferno to actual cause a drop in prices.

#3 I believe you are underestimating the demand for items. As long as there are people willing to purchase, the prices will not drop. I think that you are overestimating supply and underestimating demand, in essence.

posted a message on So uh... there's already a D3 bot released...
    Quote from rynzr

if people think theres not going to be perfected bots that run smoothly and effeciently within 6months there stupid. you can make acutal money through this game every programmer under the sun is going to be sitting there making bots better and better day by day.

    I happen to believe this.

Take, for example, one game within which botting is known to be very prevalent: World of Warcraft. This example has the added benefit of being developed by the same company as Diablo 3.

Typical bots in WoW do very menial chores: farm raw materials (mining nodes, gathering herbs, etc.), farm mobs at the same level as the character continuously for hours. Let us keep in mind that these mobs are extremely easy to kill, especially with heirloom gear. Now, is this the most profitable way to farm gold or experience? No. The most profitable thing to farm would be instances that you have severely out-leveled. You can get rare items for enchanting mats, cloth that sells for a lot, etc. Why are there no bots that farm low-level instances? Because it's too difficult to program. Otherwise we'd see bots clearing BT on DK for the high amounts of gold you get per clear.

That said, there will be bots. They won't be farming inferno efficiently, however. They will be farming Hell mode once they have a lot of gear. And even then, they won't be doing it efficiently.

Weird, when I was logging in here I excepted pure rage from people. Thanks guys for all the good things you wrote. Its a matter of time before the ragers going to point out stuff without reading between the lines here. ;) Be on your guard!

You'd be surprised how far good presentation goes in making a video enjoyable. There's a lot of production value here and we can tell you put a lot into it. I'm sure most people on these boards (myself included) would have very little idea where to start to make something like this other than to google "free windows movie maker" and probably fire and miss on a few shitty programs before ending up with a trial version of vegas video, lol.

You don't give yourself enough credit. Plus I fckng love Swedish accents in English.

posted a message on D3 video of some bosses
looks like the thousand pounder which we've seen many many times - neat lookin' boss. also the SK is in there, we all know him very intimately at this point. the SK has actually been killed by a guy who maxed thorns lol http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ma9YH93WP28

and then lastly there's the big brute from 0:00 that was doing the death animations which sadly are no longer in the game, and never will be :P

incidentally, those death animations were being triggered from a programmer who was activating the appropriate scripts in real time as the movie was going heh
