Your Beta Thoughts
As you know over 100k beta keys were sent out two days ago. This means a lot of you have now played through your very first run of the beta! We want to know your thoughts! Tell us what you favorite part was! Did anything surprise you? Did something make you want the game even more than before? Tell us in the comments and include any screenshots if you like!
The graphics are nice, the gameplay is a bit clunky at times -- I think the gold radius needs to be enlarged some.
Is it a bad game? No. Will it live up to D1 and D2? No, but most sequels don't.
I started with the Wizard and shot through, unlocking every achievement I could on him and getting him to level 13 in about 12 hours. He consistently killed things in 2 hits (minus elites, obv). He had a solid mix of single target abilities but also aoe that wrecked havoc on everything I came upon.
For my 2nd character I settled on WD since he seems the most unique and honestly, I'm not impressed.
His poison dart past the introductory quests comes across as too underpowered. Where my wizard 2 shot things, the WD can take up to 6 shots to kill zombies, that's with waiting for the poison dot to deal its additional damage.
His exploding frogs seem like a waste of mana/arcane -- just about every cast, 1-2 of them would hit some pebble in the road or an invisible wall and explode prematurely, quite often they'd explode at my feet the second I cast them.
So, being disappointed with the frogs, I got excited when I unlocked the zombie dogs -- that is, until I used them. Just like his darts, they're just too underpowered. Running around in the cathedral I came across a group of 5 (might've been 4) zombies and decided to see how'd my dogs do -- they died. Sure, they were outmatched and only meant to supplement my abilities but on a 1v1 fight that I did Zombie vs. Zombie dog, about 50% of the time the dog died still.
I'm sure the WD will get better but working through it right now, I'm not convinced that he's balanced enough in the early game.
Though I'll concede the point that I could be headed down the wrong track and that maybe the wizard is just too powerful and the WD is actually where it needs to be.
I'll keep playing him and get around to the other classes as well.
But on a sidenote: Did they really need to make the WD a carbon copy of Dhalsim from Street Fighter?

I'm a Leap/EQ barb - almost exclusively solo except some split bounties. I finally got my first Ancient Blade of the Tribes so I need to reroll.
+1783-2163 Arcane
+1381 Str
+1275 Vit
CDR 8%
+176% EQ
I have a consumable to socket the wep so I don't need to reroll for that.
I imagine of the stats on the weapon, I'd probably drop Vit but should I aim for Dmg% or LPS?
My present max GR is 67, so I imagine with this wep and some augments I've done, I *might* be able to clear 70 now. I've had really bad luck on the ancient drops this season.

I'll look to some of the other enchants as well. As well as acquiring a better off-hand and just better gear in general obviously.
Right now, self-buffed, I'm at just over 1.2m dps though my toughness rating is at 4.6m. I realize wizard isn't generally a tanking class but I feel like it's a stat I need to bump up considerably with better gear. Right?

The real problem is that I don't know what to do with gear, really. I reroll for +Cold and get rid of some stats but it's largely a guessing game for me. I mained Monk for months, quit and only recently came back for RoS and to give wizard a shot - I've been playing the toon for approx. 2 weeks now.
While I like using Cold b/c it gives me some control to escape should things get bad, I'm not sold on it. I haven't tried fire, a real archon build, etc so I'm open for suggestions there.
Really, I'm looking for suggestions for my toon itself but also just wizard resources in general so I may learn.

Good luck everyone.

From how the Enchantress spawned in like that, I imagine he's using a Sandbox (or private emulator, in other words) to show what 5.0 AS looks like.

The only thing helping me, I think, is that I'm use to playing as a DH and kiting. I face tank when and where I can, I only kite back to areas from where I came, I blind and make myself invulnerable, I think, with (near) perfect timing, and I just generally keep on the move -- I run circles around the mobs, making sure I don't let myself get boxed in, good use of floor space by stacking area affects as much as possible, etc.
But anyway - thanks for the suggestions and as I said, I have upped my LoH a bit and my resist (I'm sticking with fire, so far I've found it more readily on the AH than other resists)
Current Stats:
1.9 AS
601 LoH
16% Crit Hit
50% Crit Dmg
494 Res
23.5k dps
7504 armor
37.7k life (a lot of it from my 38% to Life Bonus)
EDIT:
Picked up better shoulders (but far from perfect):
Increased my Dex by about 60 and brings me up to 540 Res.

Here's some SS of my stats and gear.
Stats: http://i.imgur.com/IQq4J.jpg
Simple breakdown of stats if you don't/can't view the SS:
1.8 AS
0 LoH
16% Crit Hit
50% Crit Dmg
367 Res
25.3k dps
7977 armor
38k life (a lot of it from my 38% to Life Bonus)
Gear: http://imgur.com/a/bpt3U#0
As I said, I have about 15m to spend.
I know my rings need upgrading but the ones I've found on the AH are, imo, severely overpriced for the stats they offer and I haven't found a suitable offer yet from trade.
With my life and armor, I have a lot of breathing room to face tank for a couple of seconds but my res and LoH don't allow me to stand in the heavy of it like my barb does.
I'm coming over to monk from playing Barb and DH so I'm still trying to piece together the ideal stat mix for gear and the right balance between having high dps and being able to take the hits.
I'd appreciate all comments and questions.

I'm open to offers.

I'm aware that for higher end weps the LoH is a little low and it lacks a socket, so that will hurt some.
For me this wep would add a little over 3.3k dps (unbuffed) which would of course be nice but I'm progressing through A1 with no difficulties with my 13k buffed - LoH and resist is what's holding me back in a2 so if this sells well, maybe I could get better gear (still using some lvl 40'ish gear).

Given 'One With Everything' - should we just stack one particular resist (assuming we find the right gear, naturally) or stick to +All Resists?

Why? If he's not having some fun and can be taken seriously, he's saying that No Life is NOT the World First. Which is a valid point.
