Quote fromMrDrProfessor4» I'd still pick the AH over no-trading-at-all any day!
The AH was a cancer.
I always loved trading in ARPG's. I really did. Hustling your way from a blank account to riches.
I'm really digging the new "economy". That I no longer look at items in terms of gold/trade value and I approach loot drops with only one consideration; How much value does this item have for me and my characters?
I posted a poll-thread here last year titled "Should the AH's be taken down?" Some called me crazy, but I would never have imagined when I posted that poll that a year later, the AH's would in fact be dismantled.
So....to the AH's and the influential stranglehold it had on the Diablo players experience....
I was bored and tried some things tonight. I quit playing the game a few months after it released, so I don't know if it was ever fixed, but turning down my sound channels clears everything up. This was the same issue that occurred when the game came out. Has it honestly never been fixed?
I have an older setup, but when running through Crossing over and over while monitoring my gpu and cpu throughout, neither ever hit even close to a full load. GPU actually does the opposite, and just quits registering any type of load. I was even considering purchasing a new GPU this morning because the issues I was having until I saw this thread and remembered the strange sound issue.
HD 6850, i7 920. Overclocked both a bit and ran through. Didn't improve framerate at all.
Updated onboard realtek drivers - nothing
Sound at 128 - Drops below 10fps to complete lags whenever there are large amounts of mobs on the screen, or one of the demons that pukes adds climbs the wall. CPU never maxes any cores. Also tried forcing the i7 to two cores, didn't do anything.
Sound at 64 - Drops into the 20's at it's worse, but never completely locks up.
Sound at 32 - Fairly similar to 64. Seemed to stay above 30 for a majority of the time. Might have had a more intense situation though.
Sound at 16 - Stays 55-60 the entire time. Just like the rest of the game.
Googling shows people have talked about this on the official forums since release. I have yet to see a blue acknowledgment.
I remember discovering the sound channel settings were messing with my setup during beta as well. I go to almost a complete standstill during that part in Rakkis, and there are a few other areas that get me down into single digits.
I just recently starting running my sound via optical out for my new Astros, so I cranked the channels. That might be the problem. I'll test it out.
I was actually using a similar setup doing Mira runs. Absolutely love it in groups, particularly if you have a tank-like class that is able to group things up for you. In that type of setup, I also like the flying strike rune for Rain of Vengeance.
On my DH I rubberband to my death often smoke screening out of trouble from wallers or out of jailers. Every time it happens I thank myself that I'm not playing hardcore.
So if I am reading this correctly, MF increases the quality, quantity, and rolls on all items, makes me breakfast, and leads to an exorbitant amount of misinformation?
