posted a message on Dashing Strike no longer a secondary skills?
Go elective mode??? Profit.....i mean seriously its there so you dont have to be pigeon holed into a certain skill setup so use it.
Unless you're saying that they took out dashing strike which they have not, you just obtain it at a later level.

Yeah, mobility is key. Imagine fighting a demon hunter, Vault has no CD (only resource cost i believe) so if you pull and they cast one vault your screwed :D thats why you need things like leap.

I just want to see what the archon form is, so i can decide if it's worth playing wizard over barbarian.

If you arent looking for specifics there are youtube videos of a blizzcon demo where they PVP'd...Archon form was there and it was sick (MASSIVE disintegrate damage etc) you should really look em up

posted a message on I fear Monk's status in PvP.
    Quote from Malkishua

Thats just the thing. WHY can't I be a glass cannon Monk? It's quite frustrating. And I know its not a MMO. I played D2 for a long, long time and WoW for quite a while. BECAUSE of that I fear this.

I never said you could not be a glass cannon monk...it is probably just not optimal. Wizards and Barbarians have single skills that hit for over 1600% weapon damage. Monks highest i believe is more like 900%. However, monks do attack faster and gain speed / attack speed / damage buffs on skills that they use to be able to become a glass cannon. It is just not very believable that you will be able to go 6 damage skills that only buff damage and survive anything in hell or inferno. You are not a ranged class that can dodge every spell, you will need to play defensive.

Ask yourself, is a "glass cannon" an insta-gib character or a character that puts out massive damage... because monks can definitively put out damage, look at exploding palm, you can chain that and make countless enemies explode(based on % of THEIR health) this does massive damage toward the end of the game. Barbarians however, have a skill with a 2 minute cooldown, that costs nothing(if runed) that does 1600 damage in an AOE....it can be the very first move you do, sure you can die after but that is still a "glass-cannon". It just depends on your playstyle.

Personally i see monk as a more steady, steady -> Burst. class. while barbarian and wizard are more use everything you have, run in circles and wait for regen / cooldowns. I do not know enough about witch doctor / demon hunter to correctly talk about them soo :P

posted a message on who would be better for a balanced team?
I am assuming your team is a witch doctor / wizard / demon hunter....I would personally go with monk only because you said keep your squishy people alive. Barbarian (although he has skills to help) doesn't really provide any support...and most classes don't. He has the ability to quickly get back to your support (via dashing strike) and if needed pop his heals or an aoe invulnerability. Although this all depends on playstyle because in PVE there is no way i would take those skills and would most likely just go mass nukes with 1 or 2 self survival skills...

posted a message on I fear Monk's status in PvP.
I fear you think this is an MMO....You are not going be stuck being a pure support or pure healer....it just wont happen. However, a monk is a supporting characters (With heals etc) and you may not be playing to maximum efficiency without those skills. Every class will be able to have great damage output, but if you want to be a glass cannon monk might not be the best choice for you.

posted a message on midnight release
I don't know where you live, but in the U.S im fairly certain stores like Gamestop and EB games will allow you to transfer your preorders to different stores before release. This way you will be able to order it at your nearest store and when a release date is actually announced ask them about a midnight release, and they will probably know of a nearby store that has one which you can transfer your preorder too....enless you live in the middle of nowhere...then maybe not :P

plus, you can just put a 5$ down on a preorder, not a huge investment.

posted a message on DiabloFans Calculator Build Contest (ONE POST ONLY)
    http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/monk#aSXVjg!abf!cabcab

This build focuses on a Monk as a support roll in PVP, Mainly played with AOE nukers like Barbarian and Wizard.

    Active:

Fists of Thunder - Thunderclap Rune, Provides a short teleport to close distance along with spirit generation.

Crippling Wave - Breaking Wave Rune, Provides AOE Cleave damage and a slow along with a damage increase for all allies on the specified Target, allows other nukers to go all out.

Serenity- Safe Haven Rune, Locks targets in place to allow maximum use of allies AOE Cleave abilities, also provides healing so your allies can be more aggressive and not have to worry so much about their Hit Points.

Breath of Heaven - Blazing Wrath Rune, Provides a heal for allies again so they can be more reckless while in Serenity, but also increases damage done to opponents, again increasing nuking power for your allies.

Mantra of Conviction - Overawe Rune, Provides a 24% permament increase in damage for all enemies within serenity, along with 48% increase for the first 3 seconds after activation.

Seven Sided Strike - Pandemonium Rune, Provides a Giant nuke to use after you place all your debufs on opponents stuck in serenity. Also, have a chance to stun targets in the strike, holding them in place for even longer after serenity expires.

    Passives :

Resolve - Attacks cause enemies to do 25% less damage for 2.5 seconds. Helps prevent big burst from opponents like archon formed Wizards. (Helps reduce overall damage while our cool downs reset.

Fleet Footed - Without a true teleport like dashing strike 10% increase movement speed seemed like a requirement for this build, allows you to catch up to opponents and stay on them until you are ready to lock them down in Serenity.

Guiding Light - Whenever you heal someone with a direct heal (Breath of Heaven) you increase yourself and your allies damage by 16%, increasing our nuke damages yet again....

Overall : While locked in serenity we will be constantly healed, have slows and attack speed slower, reduce damage from the enemies and most importantly provide 58% increased damage on all opponents locked in serenity, and provide 31% increased damage for me, and 16% increased damage for all allies in serenity.
This makes for a great Nuke / Survival build when paired with the right teammates.

I rather think that blizz will impliment some sort of ranking system(similar to wow), where you earn point in some kind of way.

I do not have a quote but, i believe blizzard said there was a match making system, just not like WoW. It would match you up to play against people of your level however, these rankings are not visible so it doesn't become eSportish~.

Also, i hope we dont get loot or gold from PVP it should be more about the fun, but the gold wagers is a nice idea and they should think about implementing that :P

I hate the way people put down an idea cause THEY don't want to stress about it. The thing is if your not in to it, there is no need to stress or care about it at all.

But i do have to stress about it, what if my brother is not good at PVP? I am not allowed to PVP with him? Because i cant arena with him in WoW enless i want to re-farm all my arena rating to keep my Cap's high enough to be viable and get my new gear ASAP. I do like PVP, but i don't want to have to shun/be shunned by my friends because our skill levels vary, i'd like to just screw around with people i like playing with no matter the skill.

I hope so, it's what provided so much replay-ability, atleast for me. After having 10 chars with max gear the game gets boring, but with a reset you can do it all over, prove you're more devoted than the average player, and then of course, rape in pvp :P
