posted a message on Group loot question that has been killing me
    Quote from DDodds

u are one screen away from your group and kill a mob. What happens if that mob drops the best in game item but its allocated to the other members of the group. U dont see it. They dont see it. It is lost forever. Just the thought of this occuring freaks the shit right out of me.

Are there any plans to prevent this? Am i missing some information on this??

    Quote from Azjenco

Maybe this is an issue in Normal, perhaps even in Nightmare. But the way I understand it, in Hell and Inferno you will need to be working together in co-op games, or else you're going to die. So it's not really that much of a problem, since groups will need to stick together.

When talking about "the best items in the game" those are going to come from inferno or other "end game" that has not been announced yet. It has also been stated multiple times, that end game will kick the shit out of you if you go off on your own (when in a large co-op game, not talking about a solo game), and groups will have to work together to take down end game mobs. So its kinda a moot point.

But as to the what if I go off on my own any ways, then -- Random loot is Random. If your co-op partners would have been there then maybe they would have gotten something awesome... maybe not. If you are in a party in hell / inferno it will always be in your best interest to be with a group. (mobs also get... what +70% hp from each player that joins the party? -- so it would take you longer to solo something anyways)

posted a message on Raging or sick of it?
I am getting less and less excited about the "news." I'm not raging, but there's been a lot of... lets call it mismanaged hype. I'm still going to play it, I'm in the beta, and its going to be awesome. But I don't really care about "new features anymore." Beta is playable and fun, and as long as the end game was challenging and fun, then the game would have been phenomenal. All the "adjustments" should probably have been made from the beginning and changing the things they have changed at this point, were kinda meh.

The problem though is that they can't release a game thats not 100% finished because of the ramifications / shitstorm the RMAH would cause by tweaking it after release.

posted a message on Do garbage items make finding rares more satisfying?
Not at all, this was one of the most stupid things I've ever heard,
a very well thought out post, we appreciate your insight.

Just make the white stuff non-magical and salvageable. If I'm back-tracking through an area, having to do a double-take on a bunch of junk loot laying around is no fun.
press alt and all the gear pops up. If its blue you pick it up, if its white or grey you leave it?

If white stuff is salvageable you feel obligated to pick it up. Since you can no longer salvage on your person, then you would have a shitty dilemma of do I go back to salvage these crappy whites which I actually need to grind out my artisan? or do I just drop them and miss out on those mats.

Sure if you drop them now, then you would miss out on some gold from the vendor, but the effective cost of that choice is now less of a penalty, than it was before.

I'm glad I no longer have to pick up every white. And turn that into materials. Now I have to go to town to turn blue's into materials. Time wise it probably doesn't matter much.

lol, so I got banned from the d3 forums for 3 days for typing "deleted by jacka" (only time I ever did it, seriously?) but I wanted to get in on this conversation.

So most of these changes, just like any changes your initial kneejerk reaction is WTF, at least mine was. But after I kinda thought about it some more... with every character having individual loot, in the beta say I went in the room to the right, any you went in the room to the left.

In previous D2, w/e dropped, you would pick up stuff in your room and your buddy in the other room would pick up their stuff, then you would converge back into the hallway, and continue on.

In D3, there's that potential for risk that says, well, if I don't check that room, what if something awesome was in there and I just missed it?

I think the saving grace is going to be that, oh there's a champ / elite / named etc, in there then you for sure want to go in there. But my problem in the beta, was that I felt like I had to go in every room regardless, to pick up every item, to break down for crafting or to get extra gold. This change should alleviate some of the "I have to go and check every room" as whites no longer really matter, as its all about rares or better, and the only reason you would really have to check a room would be if a champ was in there, but odds are if there's a champ set then you would help your buddy anyways.

    Edit to add:

If White Items are no longer salvagable for crafting - then there is ABSOLUTELY no reason to have them in the game what-so-ever.

And as to removing whites completely from the game... there are still those people who will want to pick up as much as they can to go and vendor. It sounds like whites won't be a great source of income, but will still be worth something minimal and if you are the completionist that wants to clear everything, then that can be a gameplay option for you.

RMAH only works in its' own region. If you register an NA copy of Diablo 3, then you can only use the RMAH in NA
^this can be bypassed easily with a proxy IP.

So I used to be a GM for WoW, and we used to roll through and ban accounts using "known IP's" of proxies / known offenders etc. I no longer have any association with Bliz, but I would assume that this would be something they would look into as well for D3.

posted a message on Multiple Builds
TBH, I can't personally speak for Runes or PVP because neither of which are in the beta. I think they said runes start dropping in act 2.

From the info I have seen on pvp though, spells will behave different in a PvP vs a PvE environment. Things that normally don't have cooldowns might have cd's in an arena setting to balance PvP more. So that would lead me to believe that runes might also behave differently as well.

Its all kind of a... "wait and see" approach atm. :(

Let me first say that I love the 6 active 3 passives setup in the current testing setup,
I also like that it is adjustable on the fly.

Not sure if you are seeing old vids or what, but I'm currently in the beta (haven't played in a couple weeks as nothing is new), and they changed the skills about a month ago to only be modified at... I forget the name, but its only at a shrine in town and at other certain dungeon points.

They disliked that people could put in their skills, then change them for each and every encounter.

posted a message on Are there only 4 ranks of runestones now?
    Quote from dnavarre

I thought there were 12 ranks, three of each dropping in every difficulty. But that was a long time ago, it's probably changed now.

Might be confusing rune tiers with armor tiers? I think originally there was speculation that there would be 12 tiers of armor, but is currently set at 18.

posted a message on Real of Fake? D3 "interview"
    http://us.battle.net...opic/3881923355

"Even though us in the Art team do not get a ton of information regarding delays, new game changes, tweaks or programming changes, I do know that the other departments are actually done. The art team has been done for some time now, but they have had us working on tweaking game graphics and artwork for future patches as part of the delay. As Jay Wilson mentioned, the game is actually done for the most part. But all I know is that we got an email stating the project was being delayed. There was no date specified or why it was delayed however. But we were given new assignments to work on since the project is already complete and has been since November.

What I do know is that the only thing that was being worked on was the rune system and class tweaks during the delay. They were also trying to make some changes to pvp. But the game was not delayed because of those changes. They came after when we got the emails it was being delayed. However, as I stated before, these changes were supposed to be for a patch after the game was released."

Q: Have you heard anything yet about the Korea GRB assisting with the delay?
A: "No. As before, I never got an email or document stating what was holding the release date up. I do know that some of us brought it up during work, but I still do not know since only a select few get that kind of information."

Q: Any information on the release date?
A: "We have not as of yet gotten any email at work about the release date, but we did get an email on Thursday which let us know that the project will be going Gold within the following weeks. Jay Wilson should be mentioning something about the release date this week. "

Q: Do you know how long it may take for the game to hit shelves once announced?
A: "I did talk to my supervisor at work who mentioned that the retailers are on standby for instant delivery. Because of the pressure and delay, I think we should be forcing it out the door within weeks after the announcement. It should have already been out. Retailers and Investors are getting annoyed."

Q: What are you working on now?
A: "They have us working on icons and artwork glitches for the game. But this is for a future patch once the other departments gather more bug fixes."

Q: Have you played Diablo 3?
A: "I have played it up to Act 3 on Normal difficulty. Some of my coworkers have played through Hell difficulty. "

Q: What do you think of the game?
A: "Well, it feels weird playing through it and always seeing the artwork that you have created for the game. For example, I would be flying through Act 2 and see the Pillar Artwork I designed and be completely unfocused because I feel it never looks right. So it does take a lot of fun out of the game for me and others who work on it. But from an outside view, I would say this game is going to be addictive and fun."

"but we did get an email on Thursday which let us know that the project will be going Gold within the following weeks. Jay Wilson should be mentioning something about the release date this week."

OP calls him a "Whistle Blower" though, which I think is kinda funny. Not much misconduct going on here.

There has been a lot of smoke recently though which would normally lead you to a fire (release announcement), so I would think we're in for something big fairly soon.

    But any thoughts?
