Started T3, ended in T1 (except for Malthaël for which I had to go 1 more level down, it was really late at night).

Kinda low dps (300k), but I rely on HotA to be able to wreck things fast (2/3 crit HotA it what I consider "fast", crit is currently donig 2m5/3m5).
I also have +20% dmg on Frenzy and +11% on HotA which provide a significant boost (and +14% on avalanche which I'm not using currently)
I'm not sure Frenzy is the most efficient currently for rage generation & dps, but I find it pretty useful to mitigate a lot of damage since I still have a very good attack speed (1.88 attack/sec), which stuns a lot.
Healing : 6k+ life/sec, 7k5 LoH, almost non Life on kill, and 1k life/fury spent + Inspiring Presence
With this setup, I can heal away with 6k+ life/sec & Inspiring Presence, especially during "no dps phases", and while mono-targetting or when it's crowded, LoH & Life/Fury provide the proper boost needed.
My main upgrade will come from the offhand : I need to find a socketted one in order to increase crit dmg a lot, since HotA damage (my main source by far) relies on it much more than crit chance.
I still have 4 lvl60 items, so I feel pretty confident for the future. I think I'll have to drop a lot of AS at some point and I'm preparing mentally for it.
I chose to lower DPS by picking 2 defensive passives and 1 defensive rune (stun on Frenzy) because I wanted to be able to stay in T1 in order to benefit from enhanced loots, or so I think (the tooltip says "new 70 legendaries"), because what I really didn't want to do was to farm below Torment in order to be able to switch at some point in torment.
I guess I was right since I found a lot of stuff in a relatively short amount of time that allowed me to really feel comfortable farming T1.
That's just the way I currently see it. There are still a lot of things I don't understand about how the new system works (which loots are good where, what is the droprate, etc... but I'm following the masses farming adventure mode, so I'm guessing that even though I do not really know what I'm doing it must no be so bad (that's a ubber-noob reasonning, isn't it ? ^^))

Hit 60, farmed, spent a lot of money and made really good deals.
With 1000+ resist all, very good armor, I can survive act 2 with a crappy DPS and 100% skills dedicated to surviving.
Maybe I got something really wrong and did't invest in crit/crit dmg enough, nevertheless standing still to DPS is really boring to me.

Then I finished levelling my barb, got the same problems, then some day I discover the WW build, switches to it, and I can instantly farm act2 like it's noting, and go to act 3 for a good challenge.

It's so fun, so fast, so versatile and so brutal that I haven't played my monk since, and probably won't whatsoever. (even great boost won't make up for the lack of mobility barbs have).
My advice : sad to say, but reroll Barb. Comparing those 2 classes is an insult to barb.

At high level, suviving > dealing damage, since you ought to be alive to deal damage.
The slower the weapon, the more time you're stuck in the swing animation (i.e : not able to simply move), that's why people also prefer 1h.
Last but not least, stats like life/hit, that are extremely powerful at high level, work well with fast weapons.
So long story short...2h weapons have a small DPS boost (+50% ? less ?) but lack of everything else.

I know you don't plan to support Diablo 3 to be a eSport - If the commnunity wants it to become a eSport(without the implied balance), would you support it with replays/spectator mode and more ?
JayWilson: No. We don't want Diablo 3 to become an E-sport. It's OK to have PVP just for fun. Our focus is on our PVE game, and we want it to stay there.
I still mix up eSport/ranking, because for me, ranking = players turn the game into an eSport, that's why I make the shortcut.
That being said, I don't know how blizzard could do to include ranking without D3 to become an eSport, so maybe I'm not that wrong after all ^^

Only those who can have fun without ranking will enjoy it.
For the others, it will get boring soon and they will move to a ranked game, or will hang to the forums crying for Blizzard to implement ranking.

Exactly the very same as you do, without rankings (they stated it again a few days ago on the longest FAQ I had ever seen).

It's not, as you seem to think, for the "enjoyment of all".
You need comparison to others to feel enjoyment. Fine. Don't assume everyone does.
I get that you think Blizzard should include ranking, despite what they said, to increase replayability.
Don't get me wrong, I think you're right, but they won't include ranking just to increase replayability. They seem to be focusing on quality PvE content to increase D3's lifetime.
Long story short : replayability is not a reason good enough for Blizzard to consider including ranking. Your ideas are great, provided you drop the "ranking" request (and DOTA, which seems a complete new game development !).

- mantra of evasion -> mantra of conviction (so many debuff and survivability that I realized it would be useless to dodge a few debuffed shots, where I could be punching much harder instead)
