The fight is about positioning the clouds. Don't bounce all over the room or you spread poison everywhere almost immediately. shadow power gloom helps too!

I Understand not being all over the room, I stick to the edges of the kill-cloud, but then how exactly do you deal with the adds? Tortuous Ground them? I tried that too, but couldn't kill them fast enough. Is this just a massive "Blizz cockblock-you-fight" with gear-checks? Or am I missing something?

Can anyone tell me how the hell this boss is supposed to even be possible? I was progressing slowly through act3, lots of repair bills, lots of frustration, blah blah, but was making headway. But then I hit Ghom. And Now I'm just stuck. I really don't understand how this boss is possible to solo in it's current state without having 200k dps. I'll get him to 80%-ish fairly easily, but then the entire room is filled with shit that kills you in <5 secs. I've tried everything I can think of, and nothing is working. Seriously, if any DH out there can do this, then please enlighten me. I am out of ideas and extremely frustrated. Help?

So much hate in this thread. Blah blah DH OP imma cry about it blah blah, you can use SS, crycry. Fact is unless you actually play a DH don't call them a broken class. You still need a certain amount of skill to hit SS at the exact right moment, or you die. period. You need to know how to gear/which skills to use, and know the fight backwards and forwards to know when to hit SS, or you die. yes, ranged characters progress more quickly with less gear than melee, that's just how it is right now, blizzard knows it and is trying to fix it. if you don't like it roll a DH and see how quickly you can get shot by things throwing fireballs offscreen at you if you don't SS at the exact right second. Or, you know, just cry about it on the internet. Or belittle someone who did a good job and yes, has good gear, but I'm sure took a LOT of time acquiring said gear.

I personally say good job OP. Haters just jealous.

posted a message on Another Act2 Inferno thread
I hate to tell you bad news, but yeah, honestly, you need better gear. Your damage and Dex are really low to be in act2 first off, and yeah, mobs hit like trucks. Your armor is pretty decent, and your resists are just OK. I'm also in act 2, and i know its hard as balls. I've heard you should really have 700+ resist all. I've got about the same resist all as you and about 40k hp and i've still been 2-shot by fireballs. It's pretty ridiculous. I'm progressing through act2 with about 40k hp, 550 resist all, 5.5k armor and 12.5k damage. and yeah, it's HARD. I die a lot, and champ packs really do just take forever. Some are just straight-up impossible and I skip them. And I agree, prices of things are pretty ridiculous also, as I'm pretty poor too, and don't have 3 million gold to drop on one upgrade. Really you have 2 choices, farm act 1 for gold/gear for a long time, or progress through act2 slowly and die a lot, hopefully getting decent drops along the way. I personally farmed act1 for a couple hours and grew bored of it quickly, because yeah, I can Faceroll act1 now too easily. So i opted for option 2. Its hard, takes a long time, and you die a lot, but its doable. I'm a little more than halfway through myself. The problem is that melee is way more gear-dependant than ranged classes, as we need to (obviously) be in melee range to do any damage, which means we're taking a shitload of damage. So when it comes right down to it, you need better gear. Or you can slowly get through act2 and die a lot like I'm doing atm. Here's the build i've been using, and as I said, its slow but I've been getting through it. and i have less defensive stats than you (except i have a bit more hp, but it doesnt seem to matter much when some champ packs just melt you in .2 seconds anyway). http://us.battle.net...YXgh!YUX!Zaacac I wen't more dodge-heavy with backlash runed on MoE. it's amazing how much it helps on larger packs of not-so-hard-hitting mobs. Just spam FoL and get the 16% dodge, use defensive CD's when needed, and spam Matra for the 15% more dodge (and some healing from Transcendence), and not only will you be taking less damage because you're dodging everything, but everything around you just explodes and kills themselves on you. It's like thorns without getting hit, and is amazing.

All that being said, it really is just hard as hell when you're undergeared. Melee is very gear-dependent. But you need a LOT more dex, and damage. Not trying to flame you or anything, but no wonder it takes you so long to kill stuff with 8k dps and <1k dex. So basically yeah, farm act1 and hope for good drops you can use/sell,and buy better gear, or progress slowly in act2 and expect to get raped a lot. BTW, the hardest mobs right at the start are those damn wasps, those litle crap things they shoot do like 10k per hit. You REALLY need to either not ever get hit by them, or pop Serenity right when they're going to hit you. if 4 of them hit you in sucession, its game-over. Very Annoying.

Edit: as for some of my other skill/rune choices, i use the fear rune on the heal, and its crazy how much it saves your ass. The heal itself is pretty nice, but what really saves you sometimes is the 1.5 sec fear. I use it when I get surrounded and can't move. Because Serenity and Blind will stop damage for a couple of seconds, but if you're surrounded to the point of not being able to move, it wont help much. In those cases I pop my heal, which fears everything, And then you can book it out of a clump and position yourself better. And honestly, I wouldn't go with Sweeping wind as a main Spirit-spender/attack, because (at least I have to) kite so much that it falls off constantly, and 75 spirit is a huge cost just to keep it up a couple of seconds. I personally use SSS runed with the teleport. Its great because it does a ton of damage, and you can use it defensively. While it's being channeled for that 5 seconds or whatever it is, you can't be hit by anything (I use it a lot if im waiting for other CD's to come up, or if i need to hit something that's standing in molten/plague/desecrate/other shit on the ground), plus in combination with the teleport rune, it helps you chase down annoying ranged things that are raping you from afar, or you can also use it to port out of packs if you're surrounded and your heal-fear isnt up.

Awesome, thanks for the quick responses. I've been wanting to try your build really bad, but my gear is just atrocious, and honestly havent wanted to spend any gold on the AH till 60, so ill actually be able to afford 60 gear when i get it. Since my gear is total crap and im 59, ive just been doing a knockback/kite build thats been working OK in hell so far, but its slow progressing and i know it wont cut it in inferno. Once i get my last level ill actually go on the ah and start gearing towards your build. You said that ~40-50k hp, ~25% ele resists and 100 HP per hit is minimum, I was wondering what you think would be minimum Attacks per second?

Cool deal. I wasn't hating on you or anything, I was honestly just curious if the changes were going to break it or not. So would you do the same thing, spamming MoH but just with Sustenance? that works just as well? and what stats would you have to change around?

Yeah, sorry dude, but they're fixing Boon of prot. Apparently it was waaaaaay more OP than they intended. What are your plans now? (Im not a hater, ive been really impressed by your build/vids.) Will them nerfing BoP to the ground break your build?

posted a message on Dodging Affixes?
Hey guys, I'm wondering if anyone can tell me for sure one way or the other if you can Dodge the monster affixes like Fire Chains, Desecrate and moltan pools? I've been hearing mixed things and can't seem to get a straight answer. I'm wondering if I should keep up my tactics of knockback/avoiding that stuff that seems to be working OK for me in hell so far, or if you can go full dodge build and just stand in that crap and "tank" it? Thanks.

Bommes, is there a reason you don't use wall of wind to spam Cyclone strike instead of refreshing the mantra? Unless im totally missing something i'd think that'd be better. Its 5% more dodge for the same 3 seconds, for the same spirit cost, and it also does damage.

This is pretty close to what I had in mind for a wizard build too, here's what I was thinking http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/wizard#UieROj!XUY!acaaba

Only problem with mine was I dont really have any Oh Shit buttons, might have to replace something with Teleport if I start getting pwned too much. but I think this build would work pretty well in a full group with some melee taking the brunt of damage and you can just sit back and Blow stuff up.

posted a message on WD summoner build, what do you think?
Hey guys. So I've decided to play a WD first when the game comes out, and I've always liked summoners and lots of pets and stuff swarming around me, so i figured a pet-build would be the way to go. Here's the build that i came up with. keep in mind I don't have beta still (sadface) so all this to me is pure speculation in my brain, so if it sucks nuts, sorry, I don't really have any way of actually trying this out. But here's what I got, let me know what you think, constructive criticism is welcomed!

    http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/witch-doctor#hZYTPQ!dZh!bZaZZb

The idea behind this for me is to obviously have pets out as much as possible, tanking stuff for me while i run around firebombing everything in sight. Then if a couple mobs slip past my pets, I Unbreakable grasping dead them and run like hell behind my pets again to get away. Then to pop Fetish army/big bad voodoo for champ packs or just when i get overrun. As for passives the first 2 are pretty obvious for any pet build. I am kind of torn as for the last one though, and had a couple questions regarding some things. I was wondering if Pierce the Veil increases pet damage as well as my own damage? It seems kind of obvious that it should increase pet damage too, but the tooltip just says "increases YOUR damage" so I wasn't sure. If it does indeed increase pet damage too I may take that over tribal rites, as this build should be very mana conservative, assuming pets arent dying constantly and I have to re-summon them. Another question I had was for the Slam Dance rune for Big Bad Voodoo, does that increase damage by 30% in ADDITION to the attack speed/run speed increase, or replace it?

Well that's what I came up with as of right now, what do you guys think?

To me the creepiness factor for stuff like this immediately goes to zero when I start to think about it, because I'm 98.6% sure that this was made by a 15 year-old chubby kid on 4chan who wears capes who made this and made up a back-story about it for the sole purpose of fucking with people.

posted a message on playing through the storyline in multiplayer
I'm not in the beta so I'm not sure, but are there different Single-player and Multiplayer modes? I was under the impression that there weren't different modes. But I guess that was just me assuming things. But if there are different modes and you have to start new characters in multiplayer and single-player, You can always just make a multiplayer character and play in games with passwords on them by yourself. That's what I was planning on doing for my first run-through of normal, for the same reasons, so I don't have to rush through stuff and miss cutscenes and quests and plot points. The first time I play the game I want to actually relish the every aspect of the story and every part of the game and not have to feel rushed by playing with other people. Once I've seen the story then sure i'll rush =)

posted a message on DiabloFans Calculator Build Contest (ONE POST ONLY)
Here is my WD summoner build: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/witch-doctor#VbYTPh!aZW!aaZZZZ

I always loved the summon necro in D2, so i Figured in D3 I'd try to make the closest thing, a summoning Witch Doctor. I like this build because it has all the pets possible, Zombie Dogs, Gargantuan, Fetish army, and Corpse Spiders. My other damage abilities are Firebats runed for single-target damage, and Locust Swarm for AoE. My Hope for this build is that even though I don't have any CC or mobility abilities like Horrify or Mass Confusion or Spirit walk, There will be so many of my pets on the field that I can freely run around and avoid incoming damage while spamming my damage abilities. My passives are Zombie Handler to buff Gargantuan and Zombie dogs, since this is mainly a pet build, then Jungle fortitude to further decrease damage to my pets, and myself, and finaly Vermin to increase damage to Firebats, Corpse Spiders, and Locust Swarm. Hopefully this will be a decent "boss-killer", with my pets tanking while i spam it with single-target Firebats.
