Stop dicking around and just kill MF off. It is not interesting, it is not fun, it is a seed of chaos which mangles so many aspects of the game. Work on monsters, work on skills, work on PvP, work on crafting, STOP WASTING EVERYONE'S TIME TRYING TO FIX MF.

While they're at it, look at most of the other boring "fake passive" skills. Wizard Armors, Magic Weapon, Monk Mantras, and Barb Shouts are freaking boring. They are fake passives, and the double 3 second mantra button isn't all that interesting either. Yes, the utility is great, but the mechanics are boring and silly as hell. Zerk and Archon are cool b/c they change up how you play considerably, at least they're supposed to. He's right that having them up permanently is a problem. But other permanent fake passive buffs are boring. They need to look into changing them up. Pushing a button every 2 minutes isn't skillful, it's boring.

posted a message on Ray of Frost Also to Receive Buff, Quality Over Quantity, Blue Posts, Fan Creation of the Week: The Art of Crimson-Nemesis
They need to fix a couple of other problems w/ Ray of Lost before the DPS.
-If you run away from monsters, and try to flip around to pulse-snare pursuing monsters, you take too much time swiviling around. This is also true for Disintegrate.
-It takes a full 1/2 second or so to apply the snare. That's way too long.
-In consequence, you can't sweep the beam and snare multiple enemies at once. It takes 1 second to snare two monsters, which is ridiculous.

Ray needs to be a very quick and effective snare first and foremost. The DPS is an afterthought. If it can't slow down a lot of enemies quickly, it will never be an option for most normal builds.

Eh...Shields are NOT viable?.........Eh yeah sorry i have to say this is totally not true. As a S&S barb ( Sword & Shield )
I'd say that shield are very viable. Having a BiS Stormshileld makes you a total brick wall ( 10% to Critical strike chance 34% Block )
Who says 10% Crit chance is nothing? My barb is rolling at 371k dps Buffed and i die mabye once every 5 MP10 farming runs from that 1 crazy elite pack combo everyone seems to get now and then.

Dont belive me, Look at this dude http://us.battle.net...56/hero/1213081 rocks 570k DPS when hes buffed.

How to make shields viable? Add a class that uses shields as a part of his arsenal in the expansion.

Open your eyes please. Barb and Monk can use shield perfecty if you know what build your setting up, Some monks out there are crazy when they rock a Stormshield for that 34% block chance. But hey if blizzard wants to make us shield using dudes OP then thats fine i guess lol

The problem is you need a BiS shield. You need to give people who can't find or afford a perfect Stormshield a reason to even bother looking over a rare shield. "Oh, shields work, if you get a 10% CC and 34% block Stormshield" doesn't help.

Add min/max/elemental damage rolls to shields (smaller than off-hand mojos/orbs, natch). I think they need to rework the whole dual-wield/two-hand/sword-board thing, anyway. They screwed it up terribly in D2, the "solution" in WoW is pretty ham-fisted and spotty, and other developers can't seem to get it right, either. Dual wielding w/ double emeralds is particularly bad.

posted a message on PTR Patch Update - A Few Skill Updates
    Quote from Zeyk23

Anyone else think it seems like generator abilities are being left in the dust? Every patch the resource spenders get more badass, and every class can gear/spec to be able to spam them without limit. Why would anyone use a traditional "generate then spend" build?

I agree, although a good way to fix it would be impossible in the middle of Vanilla (it would take a big stats overhaul like the expansion). Doctors really need help, b/c even spamming "free" skills stops regular mana regen. There needs to be more resource complexity beyond what they've shown us. It was really puzzling to give Hunters and Monks almost the same basic resource system as Barbs. There needs to be more variation.

So far so good. Still miss game-names. I would assume B.net 2.0 would have a better history system, so they could go over game-name logs and catch spammers and nose pickers who use foul/bigoted language. Hell, even have a right-click/report bad game name feature. There are already so many ways for idiots to spout off obnoxious drivel, what's another one going to do?

Oh, the same XelNaga who wanted Diablo 2.5, got it, and now is complaining about it? That moron? They shouldn't listen to his stupid face.

They're dead right on the 4 player set up. Even then, they need to tune down the screen garbage. They're dead wrong on lack of game names/custom games, though. It's literally impossible to do public Wimsyshire games on anything other than Inferno. Or wander around Desolate Sands trying to get every Ancient Device roll.

posted a message on Jay Wilson: Auction Houses 'really hurt' game
Jay Wilson strikes back from the grave. Man, this guy really never played D2, did he? "D2 never had an AH." Yes, that's right, all of those spam-bots were made and sent by commune hippies who hate the idea of currency. That Enigma Hammerdin was actually a real person, no really.

The issue isn't the AH, it's the complete and utter lack of item sinks. He (okay they, but I'm pinning this on him solely based on his PvP "blog") Early on in the closed beta, your average crafting recipe had one or two fixed range stats, then a couple of random rolls. Not ALL random rolls. You know, useful crafting. Somehow, that changed. During one Blizzcon, they mentioned that soulbound gear would only be a few items at level 60. It shipped w/ ZERO bound gear whatsoever.

Everything this guy says is utter crap. He's completely short-sighted and confused as to what problems the AH caused and what was caused by his own incompetence. Yeah, look at your average public game in D2. Seems like a well run, stable economy, right? Seriously? PLAY YOUR OWN GAMES AND LOOK AT THE RESULTS. Idiot.

Somebody thinks the SC2 bosses are better crafted than D3? Are you serious? They're great for an RTS, but come on. And compared to WoW's glory days (Ulduar, Ice Crown), both are amateur hour (but that has more to do w/ the simplicity of the mechanics than anything). Of course, comparing bosses between the three isn't fair to begin with.

Also WoW is WORSE than it was back in the BC days. Blizzard hasn't made anything good since their merge with Activision.

Stop trollin', yo. Other than Kara, BC was pretty crap. Ulduar was the best thing WoW ever did, ever.

Good calls. It's kind of sad and stupid that you have to explain to people why you can't simply pull the AH out altogether. Did anybody play D2? Did not having an AH in that game stop or even slow RMT, dupes, and Hammer Bots at all?

One thing he didn't mention that kind of worries me is nowhere does he mention bound gear. One way to get people off the AH is to make BIS gear account or character bound. The AH is great for commodities or alt gearing. There just needs to be a lot more done w/ crafting to beef up the commodities market. And there needs to be more commodities. Example; in order to craft a BIS bound pair of gloves, you need a level 63 pair of gloves, plus gems and other crafting reagents. Make random drops a more important part of the recipe than simply scraps. I still think the biggest let down I've had w/ D3 is the terrible crafting system. It has so much potential, and falls so far short.
