posted a message on Future Character Packs

If there are going to be 2 more hero packs, and the next is indeed druid then the third should be something completely different. 2 revisited classes is enough nostalgia/fan service. If they were given creative freedom lets see what they can truly come up with that gives us a real fresh experience.

Does playable class have to be a human? How about a Khazra hero! Or a demon who defects? Happened with Lilith right? If the nephalem angle has to be retained, and they have to be human, how about one of those cultists? Theres already a bounty where one comes good.

posted a message on D3 on console better than PC?

I do believe the appeal of the console version is somewhat understated and unfairly looked upon by many as a poor man's version of the D3 experience, or that it somehow has less substance. I find it interesting Blizzard have committed to bringing the seasons to console, given the challenges to keeping leaderboards clean. Though I guess DLC content like Necro pack, especially lower end of the price range, would be a very natural fit to the console business model in general.

Yes trying to use skills like Monk Dashing Strike is definitely a lot less precise on console, you simply don't have any control over the length/distance of the dash only the direction. I believe the whole twister wizard exploit was also absent on console given you couldn't place the cast of the spell on an exact spot.

    Nope.

Simply put, criticism toward the console version generally seems minimal. Does this mean consolers are much more satisfied with their D3 experience?

There has been a ton of hate directed towards the game for a long time now, criticising many aspects. It seems the majority of those voicing their displeasure are playing on PC.

Disatisfaction from the console community seems to be quite significantly less. Are they easier to please? Or just have more reasonable expectations?

Perhaps the oft criticised D3 mechanics/game design is actually perectly suited to the casual console gamer?

The only real weakness for console is the out of control modding - would need to steer clear of online randoms to ensure integrity of the gaming experience is preserved. Not ideal but at least an option. Not sure Blizzard can do much about the modders even though they acknowledged during Blizzcon they were looking at combating the situation.

Overall though D3 is quite possibly the best couch co-op multiplayer game on current gen machines (PS4 at least), and getting seasons is icing on the cake. As such would seem the console gamers have more to look forward to than PC-ers in the near future, at least til Necro comes out.

    Thoughts?

posted a message on Necromancer Suggestions & Ideas

Since they're so hung up about making the necro class "dark" and Lovecraftian...

Give one of the Necro 6 pce sets a Sadomasochistic theme.

Female necro look like a dominatrix.

Male necro look like the Gimp from Pulp Fiction.

posted a message on Nek the Brawler Kill Count

I'm not altogether bothered by lack of PVP in D3, but am annoyed that there is this Nek the Brawler fellow moping around in the game but is totally ignored cos what he is offering ain't what we want. Time, effort and resources were spent on creating him but he's pretty much irrelevant at this point.

    Given:

    a) it is higly unlikely a whole new PVP module will ever be worked on (due to lack of financial incentives for Blizzard, balancing issues for dev team, etc)

    B) Nek the Brawler training ground already exists

Why not add a "kill count" to Nek?

So when you run around in Nek's traing ground and knock off a couple of other players, these "kills" gets tallied and added to a cumulative total against your profile.

No new battle maps, no re-balancing, just add a counter to something that is already there but right now is about as useful as bewbs on a bull.

To keep the development effort to an absolute low budget minimum, don't even record how many times you get wasted (cos no-one needs to be reminded about how often they got owned), just show how many times you've nailed someone else.

No, this isn't a proper PVP solution, but hey Nek's just hanging around looking like he's willing to offer free bj's just to get some love and attention, so why not put him to work.

A slightly more adventurous idea might be to add an option to set an "entry fee" to go into one of these duelling sessions. Kind of a wager using in game gold or materials, goes to a pool collectible upon first to 5 kills or somesuch. Though don't want to over reach here...

Just a pie in the sky thought.
