posted a message on Razer Naga for Diablo?
I wouldn't specifically pick up a Naga (maybe the Hex, but not the original) for D3, but since I have it, I might make use of it... it's always nice in WoW to be able to take my hand off the keyboard for a second without having to stop what I'm doing. I have skills in WoW mapped to all the keys, but I actually only use a handful of them on a regular basis because I don't really feel like I can react as quickly with my thumb as I can with my left hand on the keyboard.

I'm sure I'll make use of the keypad though, at the very least for menus so I don't have to reach across the keyboard. I'll have skills mapped, but I think I'll use more of the keyboard in this case too.

You can ghost run back, or, out of combat you can click your friend's body to resurrect them.

posted a message on CE's Goodies
I'll definitely use them on all my characters, maybe off and on when I'm feeling like it. As someone else said, they're an inventory item similar to how you had the Cube or Stone of Recall in patch 11 (or at least, that's how I assume it will be included). You can turn them on or off at will on all characters on the account you attach the CE key to.

I can't think of a more fitting class for them than the Monk, but it won't stop me from using them on all my characters regardless. =)

posted a message on D3 on Consoles?
As long as they handle things exactly how they have with Diablo 3 in the future ("we'll try, but it's not going to slow down development on our PC version"), I couldn't care less whether they develop games for consoles also. I prefer PC gaming for numerous reasons; I always pick up the PC copy rather than a console copy (Skyrim for instance) if there is a choice.

I do think in this case, Diablo III could translate really well to a console. Consoles handle action/adventure games really well and Diablo wouldn't be any different. They would have to change fundamental systems though - for instance, how would you pick up items with no mouse? Or if they do have a cursor, how do you move? Do you use one analog stick to move and one to control the cursor? Or do you use your left analog stick to point in the right direction and X to move there? I'm sure they know how they want to handle those sorts of issues, even if they're not actively developing on consoles anymore.

I feel like it would kinda suck to only be able to pair with other PS3 or Xbox players... But the way their systems work, I don't imagine it's possible to connect to Battle.net. I don't have any PSN friends, but I do have Battle.net friends, which means I wouldn't be able to communicate with anyone. Chat channels would be out, the AH would be clunky if you were looking for specific item names, and the RMAH would either be difficult or impossible to implement. I suppose through further partnerships with MS and Sony they could work the RMAH out, but I don't believe they would be given any control.

One thing I do like about Blizzard is how they have evolved into a one man show in the last number of years - they do all their publishing, development, distribution, etc in-house, both domestically and internationally. They DO have an in-house console team for D3, however I wonder if it would be possible to release for consoles without partnering with someone. I suppose that's not particularly important though.

My last concern would be with a different aspect of multiplayer. My wife and I both have computers, that's just a given. We both have separate emails, use different websites, play different games, or even play the same games together all at the same time. It'd be silly for us to share a computer because we both use them so much. We DON'T have two televisions and two PS3 consoles. A game like D3 would NOT split screen well I don't feel... There are a few ways to work with multiplayer.

    1. Split screen. I just can't imagine it working well, but they could do it. I've never cared for split screen anyways, so it would have all the same drawbacks as any other split screen game. I don't, however, remember playing any RPGs that do it. Usually you see that with shooters and action games.

    2. 1 console per person. It would totally suck that way, but you need 1 computer per person, so from my stand point it makes sense. For a console player who might be used to split screen, they might not care for that. In this case, my wife and I would just never get to play together I suppose, unless there is true cross platform multiplayer.

    3. Perhaps it could work similar to Little Big Planet - player 1 has the camera, player 2 needs to stay in the same area. While it isn't advisable to wander off on your own, you certainly are capable on PC. "Oh look, I want that treasure chest, I'll catch up in a second." This would not be possible here.

None of those solutions feel particularly intelligent for a game like this... and I feel like that would be the biggest hurdle to over come.

posted a message on Will you care about the $200 daily limit?
    Quote from Aesti

I'd rather not have a limit, but I can't imagine people making this much daily. How many players could Diablo 3 possibly have? I just can't fathom people dropping cash on items they can try and get themselves. I guess I'll just have to wait and be surprised.

Because of the way item drops roll, you can't just "try to get it yourself". That is why item sales and trading is so popular in the Diablo series. You may get a "Sash of Uber" off of "Uber the Rare Spawn", but YOUR "Sash of Uber" may be terrible for you and specifically designed for another class. But, whilst browsing the RMAH, you might find a "Sash of Uber" that is amazing for you that a Barbarian got to drop, but couldn't make use of himself.

posted a message on Will you care about the $200 daily limit?
As others have said, this appears (to me) to be a) probably just temporary, B) only a cap on the balance you can load daily into your Battle.net account. Assuming the cap stays: If you wanted to buy a $1000 item, but you've never sold anything on the RMAH, that means you would have had to load $200 on 5 separate days in order to pay for it.

Now, I can't remember whether you can pay directly from a PayPal account for items on the RMAH - if you can (and there are no fees for doing so), then it would not be very beneficial to have a large Battle.net Balance anyways. You could just use PayPal to buy all your items, cash out to PayPal, and have $100 in your B.net Bal to pay for games, Blizzard Store pets/mounts/portraits(?)/banners(?), or subscriptions when necessary.

However the chips fall though, I'll just be happy to pay for my WoW sub and future expansions. If I actually generate hundreds of dollars a week, I'll be shocked. I figure I'll use the gold AH (which I'm aware will be completely dictated by prices on the RMAH) to buy anything I want and sell anything I have to spare on the RMAH.

posted a message on how will you occupy your free time until d3
I'm not thrilled with Kingdom's of Amalur either. =( I figured I'd give it a try, but I'm just not digging it. The combat system is really quite fun, but there has got to be something else to draw me in. The environment art is beautiful, but I don't care much for the character art. The UI looks terrible. The conversation system drives me nuts. Even the prerendered cinematics didn't look all that great. I'm going to give it a little while longer, but I don't have high hopes.

Anyways, back OT. Reckoning I'll give a little time. I still haven't finished Skyrim, so I've at least got to finish up the main story thread (I'm really close.) I don't think I ever finished all the new Portal 2 content that got released last October(?). QUBE is quite fun, I've still got a few hours left in that I think. I finally decided to give SC2 a try recently (never thought I'd enjoy RTS games) and it's fantastic. So, in the time I'm not playing any of that or WoW, it's SC2 for me. Of all the games I'm playing, SC2 is the top of my priority list (outside of raid time.) Hell, maybe I'll get into one of the last opt-in batches and get to enjoy some D3 also!

Thanks for the link. I ran into version 1 long ago and it blew my mind. They've improved the interface, which is great. I like all the new info boxes as well, not to mention new information like the size of the Minecraft universe. =) I'll have to go through it again later in more detail.

I think (and certainly hope) that they'll have an announcement for us the week of the call. The stress test is a good sign in my book. They may have another wave or two, perhaps prep an EU server and send out a wave of EU keys, and then we'll have the final product in our hands.

People will be so blindly adverse to change that there is just nothing you can say to assuage them. It doesn't matter that every single bullet point has a 100% logical and reasonable response, he just wants to be upset and hate everything. That's all assuming it's not just a troll I suppose.

Love the picture though, makes your point pretty clear Molster.

If you need it now, an i5 2500k is awesome and you wouldn't feel bad about it. If you can wait for a few months, the i5 3570k will be amazing too. If you happen to have a CPU with an LGA 1155 socket already, you could upgrade everything else, then pick up the processor when it hits in April.
