I would say best thing to do is worry about stuff like IAS and CDR on your follower to help them proc stuff/use abilities more. That's where they are truly useful.
Hmm, that is an interesting way to think about it. Although damage is negligible for the most part from your follower, this may possibly be a slightly more useful alternative!
Want to watch monsters explode for tons of damage? This may be the build for you! Utilizing the Jade Harvester 6P bonus, your Soul Harvest detonates Haunt for the remaining duration of its damage. Because you have Quetzalcoatl and Ring of Emptiness in the Cube, along with Creeping Death as a passive, you will hit for HILARIOUSLY high, single bursts of damage.
PLEASE NOTE: I haven't played Jade in a while and the first map was horrible, so the time could have been much better. I STILL have yet to see or find a Furnace for my cube, and I am missing some stats + poison % on my gear.
Been doing this for the past 2 seasons. Can also use the eun-jang-do weapon to freeze grift boss on 20% life remaining. Don't know where you've been hiding but this has been known for a while.
Haven't been hiding anywhere I made the video since people sometimes overlook useful things like gearing out your follower.
Yeah I agree with what you are saying, but I'll use a gift on a follower wep and put a gem in it (why wouldn't you?) to max out their damage. Getting to 150 CHD (50 baseline+100 added) on a follower is usually just a matter of gearing an amulet that has some CHD on it- it shouldn't mean you can't have all the other stats you want.
So my point (at the end, in parenthesis) was a gentle reminder about what was missing from the video (e.g. what to roll on the items, what gem to use in that empty weapon socket, etc.). Not mentioning Attack Speed was an oversight wrapped up in an afterthought...inside Edward Nygma..
Yes, duly noted. I should have gone over making sure you look for IAS especially as a stat on the gear you give the follower.
Thanks for all your help and feedback Huckle !
In terms of the build, I used the exact skills in the guide, along with the gear. Well, I TRIED to get as close to the correct stats as possible, but as I mentioned, I am missing lots of stats, 40% cold dmg, etc., so I am much weaker with this build than I should be. Even then, the build was fun to play and as I mentioned a great alternative to playing UE Multishot.
I've linked my armory page, but I believe I may have my UE/Multishot equipment on since I did some regular rift farming. If I do not have the right gear on, follow the guide's gear suggestions
It sounds like more and more the Eun-Jang-Do (lightning dmg) + wyrdward can be a great alternative for many classes when it comes down to RGs.
I guess it's fair to say that, depending on your class, with packs, a Templar might be the best choice overall, but on single target (i.e. RGs) a follower with Eun-Jang-Do + Wwyrdward may excel more?
Yup, I remember trying that one before! Overall, followers make handling packs and bosses much easier when they are CCed in some way for most of the fight
This build is a fun alternative to UE Multishot. It revolves around proccing the Natalya's 6 piece bonus and buffing up your sentry damage. Thanks to Zoey's Secret belt and Garwulf chest in the Cube, your survivability is also MUCH higher, in my opinion, than UE build. With optimal stats, I think you could push GR75+ easily with this build.
PLEASE NOTE: I am severely under geared for this build in the video. I just grabbed items I had in the stash just to test out the build and see how it functions. I'm missing a ton of dmg overall and some survivability. However, despite that, I was able to jump right into a GR65. I also could have finished it sooner if the maps were more open rather than so narrow.
I feel, if needed, rolling IAS would be the most beneficial for a follower (in terms of DMG stats) because the followers are equipped to proc stuff. So, more attacks = more procs.
Gotcha; I can imagine someone with that high of paragon and probably very well rolled ancients just 1 shots everything in T13 with the blink of an eye.
In any case, it would seem Goldwrap + legendary gem is most viable if you are lacking optimal gear and paragon points to back you up.
Thanks for the feedback Huckle! I especially like the lightning-Windforce Scoundrel build. Sounds like it could work very well instead of the Templar, and it gives you the extra crit chance on top of it.
However, I am finding though that the Templar is working great with my Demon Hunter as it keeps mobs clumped together and lets me vault away and start DPSing with all my "at X range" bonuses. I will need to experiment further with the followers and see what works best :D!

Hmm... that's a good point about bane of the stricken. I guess it could ultimately just come down to a matter of preference?
