Looks like the beta is about to end, it's the final stretch, facebook sweepstakes ended on dec 12th, next week is the last wave of twitter keys, one more stress test to be had. More so they either shut the achievement database down last patch because they were satisfied with it or to make final adjustments to be tested in the incoming last Beta phase. This is it, release is imminent, somewhere in the first two weeks of February the game will be on disc in boxes ready to ship in all regions, tomorrow they announce a date, I'd say February 17th.

They are doing to much unnecessary stuff, it's obvious that they just got extra time (RMAH delay) and polishing different things which were fine already.
agreed, they are changing alot of stuff that doesnt need to be changed, or stuff that is PATCH type things they could easily add after release. considering it was said months ago it was fully playable start to finish i dont think any game polishing is holding it up. like you said they are just polishing it while they have extra time for some other reason. -

After reading this patch note, it actually doesn't look like we're at all close to release.
- Achievements disabled (presumably due to ongoing problems)
- Auction house ongoing problems.
- New features getting first testing (battletag)
- Database schema changes still (Shown in reason for character wipe).
Database schema is one of the first things locked in because changes to this flow on to many other sections of code. when designing, the database schema is one of the more complicated changes to make.
All in all, this patch does not fill me with confidence for an early 2012 release. Those with predictions in January need to revise, and early Feb might be out too.
DISCLAIMER: I am not in beta.
theres a speculation thread for this. and its been talked to death. no one still thinks its coming in january because of the new sweepstakes that last until the end of january so its obviously not coming out then. -

yea artisans have been officially updated on the website. its awesome.
the only real need for the mystic to craft runestones was with the unatuned runestone system that is no longer in development. the old system you find 1 lvl 5 crimson rune and u can use it and swap it between any skill you want, therefor needing runes WAYYYY less. -

true, but blizzard DID say runestones will not appear until act 2. and have said MANY times that they will not add any further content to the beta past the skeleton king. they may add in runestones to act 1 to test them but they may only be tested internally and never see beta which is most likely considering their stand point on releasing more content. -

if your going to say i'm complaining, i'll tell you i'm complaining about Bad effects on something thats going to be over used. Again if it's going to take major money, in theory, to remove i high level gem and you put it on an armor thats level 12, why the hell would i remove it? i wouldn't, i would save it as it is for another char, Now the problem starts when you have to upgrade your armor to the next level up, again in theory your going to pay top dollar to yank the suker out and resocket it? 20-40 monsters? the most monsters i ever saw in one cluster in the beta or in any video was like 11 (besides the jar of souls event). which i said the dogs will distract at LEAST 1 monster. and even if their okay they still are the end-all be-all for a SUMMONER class. . what is this rediculous need for people to argue against a classes main mechanics? lets make barbs and monks without spenders or argue that a ranged barb will be as effecient as a melee one. saying you want to make a melee WD/DH/wiz or ranged barb VIABLE is one thing but anyone saying that they can be equal is just being an embecile

no offense but nice way to say aboslutely nothing. and no one is using pets for damage. they are meant to be TANKS, they might as well do no damage. the extra dmg isnt anything to count on. you just count on each one distracting 1 monster a piece at least which will be great with 4 dogs + garg. 5 inferno mobs distracted at all times during all fights will be amazing for you to lob your powerful ranged attacks without nearly as much panic if you had none.

they wont allow that to work on bosses. otherwise it would be absolutely essential for everyone to have it and if a full team of 4 had that it means the boss of the game with 430% life (328 MILLION) would die in a matter of seconds.

just did a quick calc. if your doing 50,000 damage per second. it will STILL take you 25 minutes......\
although he is technically the "boss of the game" and by the end of act 4 inferno i would suspect you will be doing well over 50k DPS.

ya that wouldnt make much sense if your pets life didnt scale. because if they already die relatively quickly then mobs with 45% extra dmg will faceroll them which doesnt add up to what jay said.

ya exactly. ESPECIALLY in inferno. no way you'll be killing fast enough to face more then 1 elite per 2 minutes unless they are in the same room. itll take u almost 2 minutes just to kill one lol

yes. it does in fact grant you extra speed. sometimes i would use it just to move a little faster through hallways and such that had no mobs. although how much speed is beyond me, it doesnt seem like a lot. maybe like a ~40% boost or something for 2 seconds isnt much but it helps get out of those sticky situations even faster to make those 2 seconds really count

tested spirit walk in the beta in the last patch. the dmg your phsyical body sustains does NOT transfer over to you in the spirit realm. so you come out with the same health you went into it(unruned)
