And if they add a quest to add a socket to a weapon, I would like a quest that add 100% crit damage to an amulet or 6% crit chance to helms or rings...

You just asked for a specific roll value from a range which is very different from a specific 1 socket affix. The dramatic potency and fun factor of gems that have specific bonuses for helms and weapons is quite different than just having an optimal affix.

Am I really supposed to be convinced ? :) Asking for the optimal affix for a weapon is fine but asking for the optimal affix for an other item is not ? I guess people believe it is legitimate because it was in D2.

And you obviously have no clue why it was in D2.

The socket affix give you a variety of options. A top-end crit roll is NOT an option affix. You'll not be convinced if you didn't already understand that simple logic. With the socket affix you still get to make a decision, which makes it fun and interesting. Getting a crit affix every time is not an option and thus boring.

You can sell ammys w/o any crit damage. You can sell helms and rings w/o crit. Good luck selling anything but the most ridiculously rolled weps and helms w/o a socket.

Again quit being negative, this stuff should of been implemented awhile ago. Remember Jay Wilson no longer touches this game anymore its a new team, and its better then nothing.

It's the same team and they love Jay Wilson. :)

Well they certainly won't come out and say they didn't like him, even if he left the company. So I take their words with a grain of salt. No lead game director leaves a project still heavily in development unless he was pushed out. I'm sure no one on the team was happy to be apart of a project that has the worst feedback of any Blizzard game in history.

Note that worst feedback does not equal horrible game, but to get the lowest fan reception of all Blizzard games is not something you want to be in...especially for a new title and not an expansion and for a game that had been in development that long.

That's weird. I haven't played in a few months but I was playing when the drop sound for legendaries was added and my barb always had that skill on his bar.

Unless it was changed recently you have fail ears if those sound the same to you

Amongst all the fighting and the fact that I played back when hardly any legendaries would drop so you could get a good idea for what it sounded like, I'd say that they are pretty similar.

And besides, if I had "fail ears" then Blizzard wouldn't be changing the sound now, would they.

Blizzard has made a plethora of changes that made no sense (WoW especially) so I'd not put this past them. I'm betting people just don't want a different ping of any kind with the legendary one existing. Poor mental multitaskers would easily get it confused in the heat of combat.

What? That ability has a high pitched shallow ping coming off CD while the legendary drop sound is fuller and deeper (and frankly, quite different all around). Is this a bug for some people where the sound was the same?

I would keep hearing a legendary drop and I would look around frantically for it. Eventually through trial and error after countless false hopes of the sound actually being a legendary ping, I realized it was the barb's overpower.

That's weird. I haven't played in a few months but I was playing when the drop sound for legendaries was added and my barb always had that skill on his bar.

Experience per additional player in a multipkwer game

    NEW GAME MODE!!

    /sarcasm

Tormented Stingers and Stygian Crawlers have had their experience reduced by 75%

Suddenly looking less forward to this patch.

The sound that plays whenever a Barbarian's Overpower ability comes off cooldown is no longer similar to a Legendary item dropping

What? That ability has a high pitched shallow ping coming off CD while the legendary drop sound is fuller and deeper (and frankly, quite different all around). Is this a bug for some people where the sound was the same?

They need to consider sockets to be addable for weapons and helms at a minimum. They are straight up garbage regardless of rolls w/o a socket. No other slot in the game is devalued so heavily for missing one affix.

What? Why? I find Reddit a hundred times more difficult to read than any forum.

50 pages vs 1 page and the good stuff floats to the top.

D3 was an epic game when it came out

lol if D3 was "epic" when it released (unless you're talking about the epic backlash about the DRM requirement among the plethora of error codes) than what would do you call the current patch of LoD? You have some extremely low standards.

The inevitable is happening. Nine months ago, many people were claiming D3 was a complete bombing of the franchise, now were getting into a spot where D3 is shaping up to be better than ever. By patch 1.10.0, D3 will be a completely different game, but nonetheless built up from the "failure" we got back in May last year.

With posts like these from the blues, I smile every time I hear "D3 is dead".

That's because that claim was 100% accurate. So putting "failure" in quotes as if you never believed it puts you in a terrible minority. It's certainly not impossible to turn the game around, but as you can see they've had to do quite a few things to make it even palpable. You don't have to do that sort of thing when a game launches correctly. I don't even remember hating D2 pre-LoD as much as I did D3.
