Sep 24, 2013Benegesserit posted a message on Artisan Showcase: "Leah the Diablo" by Sheh, Demonize Your Digital Closet, Curse Weekly RoundupYou don't hear people bitch when people say "Darth Vader is Luke Skywalker's father." or "Soylent Green is people." for example. At some point something is too old where spoilers shouldn't matter. Your friend lives in under a rock if he hasn't already heard that Leah becomes Diablo (and really does it matter? the story is fucking horrible). The statute of limitations is long gone.Posted in: News
If I had a friend who wanted to play or watch something that was already old, and didn't want (and somehow didn't already know) spoilers, I wouldn't say anything. But to be on the internet reading articles about said media when it's long since released, you shouldn't expect spoiler tags for ancient content. And I would tell my friend he's a moron if he goes on to read sites about the content he's watching/playing/reading before finishing it. -

For the best selling PC game ever they lost like 90% of their players if there really is only 1 million people left playing per day
"Lost" is not how a non-subscription game would consider these happenings. If anything more players make a heavier load on the servers. The servers that no one pays for. Yet Blizzards keeps on patching the game, bringing players back.
But even if we look at it your way, 3 million players monthly makes Diablo 3 the highest populated game after WoW.
League of Legends
Also GW3 gets lots of content and I didn't see a plethora of bitching about how bad it was. -

So is this the famous LOOT upgrade patch ?? ..or is that still being worked on? PVP ever come out?
no and sort of.
They didn't say which patch will have the loot improvements (legendaries that are the same level as monsters that dropped them). For now its just 4 player FFA screwing around pvp with no death in HC.
The PVP patch was always set to be 1.1.0. My prediction for that patch is a bunch of people returning, getting rocked in obsolete gear, then spending the next 6 months complaining about how gear shouldn't matter in pvp instead of farming new gear, then quitting the game but sticking around on the forums and fan sites to complain about the game.
Getting rocked by who? I bet more people will be returning than are still playing the game. -

And you obviously have no clue why it was in D2.
The socket affix give you a variety of options. A top-end crit roll is NOT an option affix. You'll not be convinced if you didn't already understand that simple logic. With the socket affix you still get to make a decision, which makes it fun and interesting. Getting a crit affix every time is not an option and thus boring.
You can sell ammys w/o any crit damage. You can sell helms and rings w/o crit. Good luck selling anything but the most ridiculously rolled weps and helms w/o a socket.

Well they certainly won't come out and say they didn't like him, even if he left the company. So I take their words with a grain of salt. No lead game director leaves a project still heavily in development unless he was pushed out. I'm sure no one on the team was happy to be apart of a project that has the worst feedback of any Blizzard game in history.
Note that worst feedback does not equal horrible game, but to get the lowest fan reception of all Blizzard games is not something you want to be in...especially for a new title and not an expansion and for a game that had been in development that long.
Blizzard has made a plethora of changes that made no sense (WoW especially) so I'd not put this past them. I'm betting people just don't want a different ping of any kind with the legendary one existing. Poor mental multitaskers would easily get it confused in the heat of combat.

That's weird. I haven't played in a few months but I was playing when the drop sound for legendaries was added and my barb always had that skill on his bar.

Unless it was changed recently you have fail ears if those sound the same to you

You just asked for a specific roll value from a range which is very different from a specific 1 socket affix. The dramatic potency and fun factor of gems that have specific bonuses for helms and weapons is quite different than just having an optimal affix.

NEW GAME MODE!!
/sarcasm
Suddenly looking less forward to this patch.
What? That ability has a high pitched shallow ping coming off CD while the legendary drop sound is fuller and deeper (and frankly, quite different all around). Is this a bug for some people where the sound was the same?

lol if D3 was "epic" when it released (unless you're talking about the epic backlash about the DRM requirement among the plethora of error codes) than what would do you call the current patch of LoD? You have some extremely low standards.

That's because that claim was 100% accurate. So putting "failure" in quotes as if you never believed it puts you in a terrible minority. It's certainly not impossible to turn the game around, but as you can see they've had to do quite a few things to make it even palpable. You don't have to do that sort of thing when a game launches correctly. I don't even remember hating D2 pre-LoD as much as I did D3.
