If you get the same FPS at higher resolutions it means your CPU is bottlenecking your system.
Pentium D 3.2ghz tho...shouldnt bottleneck a 9800gt, reguardless I'm getting the new one. I'll hold on to the old one for my old lady to use since her crapintosh is dieing.
What settings were you using? I ran beta with the same amount of ram and a 9800 GT and performance was pretty good. A bit of slowdown when things got crazy, but generally 50-60fps. 1440x900 resolution, textures and physics high, shadows medium, AA and vsync disabled.
I have a 24' monitor and a 21'. So I tried running it on full resolution but all gfx settings either off/or low on each. Same results. Weird as 1600x1200 should have given me a higher rate than my 1920x1080. I could play my my setup, but I hate playing on lower resolutions than what my monitors built for.
Why is it everytime an online game comes out people want it to be an esport - NO Blizzard wont be balancing this around you pvp scrubs.
I bet you have fun manipulating the systems in game. I bet you'll find most PvP'ers don't find it very entertaining to just beat the same content over and over and over. We need somthing to drive us to play the game more. Like beating the crap out of people in an arena and grinding gear to make that easier. Why this is bad? Or bad for Diablo 3?
I'll never understand the hate towards people who try and make somthing competitive, it's human nature. People throw a ball down a lane and knock shit over and get paid 100's of thousands of dollars to do so. Why shouldn't we have that in a game we enjoy? We can always throw skills out and balance things the best we can if Bliz won't help.
Just becuase the developers aren't going to make it balanced for PvP doesn't mean we can't put our own rules and requirements to make the game balanced and competitive.
I fail to see how them saying they don't want it to be an eSport will stop us... Now if there is no party system or custom games then yeah, PvP will blow donkey balls. I want to slay with my friends, if we want to slay with randoms in a competitve environment there's better games for that. Not having parties/custom invite PvP games will pretty much kill any chance of PvP in Diablo3 as an esport.
I have a Pentium G620 and a Radeon 7770, I get 150-200FPS in LoL at 1080p high settings. In the diablo 3 beta I had vsync on, anti-aliasing, high textures, high shadows, high physics, and clutter at medium. I was getting 60 FPS constantly, rarely dipping into the 50's.
The 7770 is about 5-10% slower than the 560 Ti while the G620 is about 20% slower than the i3-2100.
I used the ASRock H61M-U3S3 since it already has a BIOS update for 22nm Ivy Bridge processors. It's a rock solid board with SATA 3, USB 3, and UEFI BIOS. It has limited overclocking options, but I'm not a overclocker. I just got the G620 for temporary use until the Ivy Bridge comes out, but it has exceeded my expectations.
Thanks for the input. I will be building this after I pay my tuition for the summer around May 7th. Hopefully I can find some good deals. There's a sandisk 120gb ssd on newegg for 130 ill think ill grab early just to be sure i get a good price.
Wouldn't you say that's overkill for just playing Diablo 3 and LoL? Granted I run dual monitors, but 90% of the time the second monitor isn't used while I'm playing. Unless I need to answer a call on skype or look somthing up mid game. I figured I would get the Asrock ex 3 gen 3 because i could throw an i7 in there a few years down the road if i need an upgade. I'm on a budget too, don't really want to spend 1k on a machine that i just play games on.

Was looking around and figured a decent budget build would be as follows:
i3-2120 3.3ghz
ASrock extreme3 gen3
Gefore GTX 560Ti
Seasonic M12II 520W Modular
8 GB RAM
all this with case and cd drive. would run me $650 I can use my HD I have 1tb 720rpm 32mb cache
Should run everything on High in D3. Anyone have any first hand experience with the i3-2120 and 560Ti together?
I honnestly haven't paid attention to the unlocks after I saw that they have just been Dev Diaries. I hope they rick-roll everyone with 100% unlock. Old school
Interesting. I played WoW for like a month and 2 years after I tried it out, I got a message saying my WoW account was banned. I was like .... I don't even play WoW WTF. Come to find out some doofus was selling items off my account. No luck for me with the opt in either.
This is rediculous, just let us play the damn game however the f%@# we want to play it.
Butt hurt developers playing the hand of god. What happened to the days when a game was released and you could do whatever you wanted to do with it. If I find an upgrade and have to go to town to switch to wait for my MF to go back to full potential I'll flip shit. Or let alone lose a stack for each piece changed. So stupid.
Woot at farming late Hell for ilvl61. Crazy low costs for gems is good. I just hope they do the same for the Blacksmith. It would be nice to not go broke just trying to get a good roll on a low level character.
