Everyone assumes they will be stacking as much damage as possible from 1-60. You can't use a shield with a 2-handed weapon, and they provide a very large boost defensively. If the damage you take goes up as much as Blizzard is claiming, I can see many people that die every time they run into a new champion/rare pack switching to a shield to absorb and deflect a lot of damage until they learn what to expect and how to avoid damage.
The DPS is just a general number that you can, at a quick glance, tell how good the weapons base stats are.
It is much easier to loot at two items and see which has the bigger number. If the number is similar, then you can dissect the minimum damage, maximum damage, and speed, and consider which would better compliment your abilities.
If they do this, then someone will figure out which buttons you need to press to be "the best:, and in 365 days, we will all be just doing what blizzard already is doing, and auto-picking our stats based on whats "best".
It's the same thing in the end, what is the big deal.
And because of that reason, they are scaling down all numbers in WoW (which is a good idea, I think).
Since when did they say they were doing something they were "considering" for the expansion after MoP? I feel bad for Blizzard, people really take anything they say and sprint full home with it, and it ends up so far from the truth that you can't even remember where it started.
I dont know about you, but I dont plan on talking to anyone for a good 2 weeks during release while I level. I bought Diablo 3 to kill demons, not have FaceBook 2.0
You should stay away from anything remotely abusive/not intended. Blizzard has started banning beta accounts for what they think are exploits (which are actually design flaws).
I don't get whats so confusing. Spells only SCALE with weapon damage, and attack can "increase" their damage further. Blizzard specifically said they want the spells to now scale with weapon damage only, and not levels. Simple, not wrong, not confusing.
