"Hey guys, you want to make 1 billion or 2 billions?"
There is no such thing. If Blizzard can make more money and at the same time avoid the possibility of getting burned in media for too much violence, then they will. And that is the T rating.
Am I the only one on this board who doesn't think excessive blood is good? -
Oct 29, 2006PhrozenDragon posted a message on d3 on the way?I agree with Cyks. Plus, if they continuously announced everything, and then changed their minds, fans would be really upset. And that is something they don't want.Posted in: News

M = Means less little kids.
T = Too many little kids
That's also true. No matter the rating, there's no stopping them. And I don't really have a problem with it, so long as they refrain from acting immaturely. Which is perhaps too much to ask from most of them. -
Oct 28, 2006PhrozenDragon posted a message on Biggest Diablo 3 Information Yet!Yes, those ratings are often too high. I mean, what preents a 12 year old from watching a graphic movie at home? Nothing, except for the parents good sense, which seems to be awfully shortcoming these days.Posted in: News
T for Badlur's Gate? Alchohol, yeah right. You press a button and your character gets some negative effects. How inapropriate.
I also agree with the age. Not all kids are like that, but far too many, and they often lack common sense, courtesy, intelligence and general social skills, and for some reason have the idea that if you don't swear and attack all other players in every sentence, there is no point to playing. -
Oct 22, 2006PhrozenDragon posted a message on "Official" Diablo 3 PetitionWell, I can think of a couple of things, though I don't know if it will be appreciated by Blizzard.Posted in: News
One is to run in on Battle.net and post on those forums
Second is to run in on WoW forums
Chances are I think though that they will get locked by Blizzard.
Or any other Diablo fansite in general. -
Oct 22, 2006PhrozenDragon posted a message on Diablo 3 Fake TrailersYep, that was pretty crappy. First is just WoW, second is really just a bunch of text, and the third, well, I don't really know what the third is, but it's not good.Posted in: News

I cannot say that Blizzard will never make D3 an MMORPG. I do believe though that no MMORPG of today has the needed technology to justify the game speed of Diablo. This is an assumption from what I've heard, but apparently WoW is quite fast-paced for an MMORPG. If that is true, then I think we would first of all see a quite big evolution of Internet connections and servers before the possibility comes into play.
Even if the above statement is false though, I have serious doubts as to whether Blizzard wants to actually handle two MMORPG's a the same time. Their huge success with WoW will in that case inevitably draw futher millions into the Diablo Universe.
And third, byt launching a new MMORPG, they will effectively begin competing with themselves.
Therefore, no, it will still be the traditional Singe/Multiplayer

Oblivion Knights are great, they shoul definately stay, few monsters force you to pay such close attention to what they do.
Leapers seem to be a common moster to dislike, and Imps in Act 5 fill the same pupose, teleporting around, but they at least die from one hit.

I would very much like to see gold being used for something else, but as Elfen Lied said, bying a house doesn't really seem to fit in with defeating evil. However, maybe a castle or something could be bought by a guild/clan. Huge amounts would be necessary, maybe something like 100 million (with reduced gold drops) for the biggest ones. They could after purchase be upgraded with extra towers, arrow slits, gates, guards and whatever seems reasonable. And when bying the castle, it also becomes the target of occasional demon attacks, or even better, raids by players from the opposing faction.
Now this, if implemented, will create waves upon waves of complaints when poweful guilds raid other fortresses and steal them. But that could perhaps be minimized through some sort of refunding if the fort is lost.
This was just something I came up with to justify bying castles. I really like the idea of having some form of housing, but if it doesn't fit in with the world, leave it out.
But stealing items from players I am totally and completely opposed to. If I finally managed to find that one unique item I've been striving for, I don't want some lvl 100 thief taking it!
Arena fights would be great. Especially if it was carried out by real players. Yes, scamming would most certainly take place with premade games, but I'm sure measures could be taken to minimize the risk.
Paying to get your weapons socketed and personalized, just perfect. Why wasn't that done in D2?
So adding it all together, yes, gold should definately have a more important role.

I share your feelings. What a wakeup-call that was the first time I encountered them in Act 3.
And the Burning Souls, well, I'm one of those who got owned by them

EDIT: After checking through that site, I am even more compelled to buy it. The only thing I can complain about is that the site doesn't have a FAQ, and that the videos are pretty crappy. Looking at them I get the feeling the game is repetitive.

But what I find so appealing about it is that it contains almost everything on a subject. Whenever I want to find out something I don't know anything about, I always go there first.
