I can't do nothing like that. It seems like a really good idea, but I don't know how it would be handled on our end when creating articles even if it was implemented somehow.

I'm not sure what kinda of Wiki it is, but if it's SQL based... It would be easy if they were separated into their own individual database.
It is SQL based (I think), but all pages are jumbled together.

Considerating that Azmodan - Lord of Sin sound way more like warrior than than Belial - Lord of Lies / I mean boss killing mechanics/ hard to imagine Belial as boss who lies to u and making critical shots with it / if u know what I mean - so I expect him more as NPC who making some kind of intrigue more than boss who u kill by sword / even Jay Wison said that in Act 2 gonna be some kind of intrigue - > Who could lie better than Belial ,? (noone ofc )
Remember that Mephisto is the Lord of Hate. What is he going to do, hate you to death? Yet he's still quite powerful. No reason Belial couldn't be as well.

    Quote from Quss

even for 20 years he could be within Cain ( unless he really had civil war in hall against Azmo ) Is it possible he was controling cain from Hell ? Im huge fan of this theory ( cain beeing Belial's "spy" for 20 years ) for me that would be so orginal and cool - holywood thriller style , thats why I m asking u guys who r way more into lore of D3
I understand that you want your theory to be true, but I don't give it much hope. The most telling problem is that Tyrael was with Cain during the whole of Act IV, and on top of that Tyrael has sworn an oath to protect the Horadrim. He would know if Belial was directly controlling Cain.

But could Cain be a servant without being controlled? Maybe, but there's no trace throughout the games that Cain would be a servant of Belial. You could argue that Cain is so good at covering his tracks that nobody suspects, but then you've created a theory that can't be disproved, a classic conspiracy.

If we'd cut out all my "uuh" "eeh" and "aah" parts, the cast would only have been 46 minutes long :(

I have a couple of questions to Phrozen :
I'll complement what Daemaro wrote. I agree with the siding with demons part, unless Imperious goes as crazy as Inarius does in the end of the books, he's never siding with Hell.

Could the meteor be Imperius? I don't know. Any theory involving that meteor has to be based on so many assumptions at this point that it becomes impossible to say anything definitive.

    Quote from Quss

2 : Have u been thinking that Decard Cain might be possesed by Belial, Lord of Lies ?( Why in diablo 2 in tristram all of people have been slain ( griswold became demon and so on ) Only Cain was imprisoned - maybe there was a reason to "spere" him or maybe he wasnt same Cain he was before invasion ?
Extremely unlikely. It's very far-fetched, it requires Belial to leave the current civil war with Azmodan, it also requires him to remain in Cain for 20 years without doing much. That's a lot of time wasted that could be better spent elsewhere, especially since it likely means losing all of Hell to Azmodan. Plus it might conflict with Worldstone mechanics, but that's speculation based on speculation...

Why was Cain imprisoned? It could have been as punishment, instead of dying quickly you'd have to watch everyone you know become undead as you starve to death. This is also the area where game mechanics start directly affecting the lore. Cain had to survive for the story's sake, which has to be taken into account when considering why he lived.

whoa. Scyberdragon crushed me in the cast! I figured that passive or no, they are still technically a 'skill' and thus, with a runestone insert that could, in theory, change the effect, perhaps even drastically and lead to more unique character build considerations. *laughing* ah-well. Thanks for the broadcast mention, Sixen. Lore was interesting.
Yeah that's a good point, it could very well work that way in theory.

    2. Damn you Phrozen, you are just mad because you know I am right about my Mighty Morphing prime evils theory.

You've missed the central problem. The barrier that Tyrael talks about in LoD isn't there in the books, Heaven and Hell already know that Sanctuary exist. So destroying the stone won't make Sanctuary visible, that effect doesn't seem to matter anymore.

If my theory is correct, or if D2 lore is true, then Tyrael shatters the stone to prevent a situation where only Hell can invade Sanctuary while Heaven can't do anything about it.

Is there a way to add appropriate keywords after a guide has been sumbitted? Say you see a guide and you see an important keyword missing from it.

Adding D1 guides probably wasn't that important, but what about mod builds? One could select a mod just as one selects a game. They would of course require a unique keyword list, but otherwise it could well be incorporated yes?

However, I really don't feel it's an issue. It's best explained by assuming that Tyrael was implying that Baal is going to Mount Arreat to look for the Worldstone because he knew it was there, as that was what Mephisto had relayed to him. Therefore, Baal didn't know the exact specific location of the Worldstone.
That's a good point, and I agree with you: I doubt there was even an Angiris Council at the time LoD aws created. And in truth, even if Mephisto did know where the soulstone was it still works with the lore from both the novels and the games.

The one problem that I see arising from this is that if the Three knew of the Worldstone, why didn't they run straight to it when they were first banished? But it might well have been that they did but were continually stopped by the Horadrim and other orders. And there's still the issue of Talic, Korlic and Madawc. Whether the Three knew of them specifically, they knew Arreat was guarded, and Baal appears very determined to avoid contact with them during LoD. Perhaps they needed to build up strength after being banished, or perhaps they needed an army to decimate any form of resistance.

Has anyone else noticed that all the intro threads these days come from people who listened to the DiabloCast? Is it because the podcast has shown us to people who've never before heard of us, or is it because people who listen have a greater tendency to write an intro thread?

I don't know, but welcome nonetheless :hammy:

it's like anything would happen to him and all we needed to do was wait for his divine powers to bail him out!!! <_<
I definitely agree with you there. There's probably ten times in the books where his powers suddenly just save him in the face of the grave ever-present danger. But that's a story-telling issue and doesn't necessarily impact the lore behind it all that much.

    Quote from topic_man

I also believe going with the idea that humans are angel demon hybrids was bad idea. It added nothing to the story, it just limited it! if they had maintained that humans are just humans a natural native element of sanctuary a world among many more. and that heaven and hell are just the isolated elements of a binary universe, it would have left their hands much more open! just think of it if humans are angel/demon hybrids then what are the critters in the world?
I would have to disagree. The fact that humans are the descendants of Heaven and Hell fits well into the universe. It explains why Sanctuary is special and why humans are of particular interest. There are hints of other worlds in the books, but this cosmological design seems to define the central point: humanity is at the heart of this conflict.

As for what critters are, that's a good point. I'd advise you to read the first cosmology. I argue that Sanctuary did exist before Inarius came, there just weren't no humans. It's not entirely accurate, as I've found some contradicting points, but I still think it's largely accurate.

    Quote from topic_man

(the sin wars trilogy explanation for why heaven isn't good was very weak!"they are strict!! so humans don't like them" I bet humans would rather all the strictness of the angels if it meant they would be saved from demons killing them.
Right... 1984 was such a blast, I'm sure humanity would enjoy strict angelic rule. And like Trag'Oul says in the books, humanity would probably choose order if they were presented with a choice. But the end result would not be much better.

    Quote from topic_man

p.s. about the world stone; It was never said that demons and angels would not be able to enter sanctuary, they could by being anchored to a human or being conjured by some summoning ritual. what the world stone did was it prevented demons and angels from being on sanctuary permanently with out a host, and so prevented large scale invasion.
Demons do not need a host to enter Sanctuary. There is not a single point in the books where a demon or angel ever take a host other than purely for subterfuge (and that's only Lilith). And you can cry foul at crappy book lore here, but even if we disregard the books there's little evidence to support that the Three needed hosts to remain on Sanctuary.

They needed hosts because they were trapped inside of stones, and moving or doing just about anything is quite hard when you're inside of a stone.

Remember, the Diablo books are an independent writer's take on Blizzard's Lore. The books are not consistent with Diablo lore; they can't be, Knaak needs to create more lore in order to write full-length books. When you're comparing the two, you're going to find discrepancies for the same reason I find differences in comparing an apple and a strawberry.
    http://www.diablofans.com/blizz-tracker/topic/149315/diablo-books-vs-game-storyline/

Blizzard knows what Knaak wrote and checked it. It's certainly not independent.

I am broken and the energies that tie me to this world are diminishing rapidly.
It's entirely possible. Assuming D2 lore still stands, Tyrael should not be able to stay in Sanctuary for long regardless of what method of explanation you use.

It's not entirely impossible that the Worldstone, or whatever provides the actual protection, is not capable of fully blocking out beings as powerful as Tyrael. But even so, it could be that the shield actively wears him down, or that his weakened state after fighting Baal and Diablo makes him more susceptible to it. The soulstones would of course protect the Three from this.

    Quote from ScyberDragon

Phrozen, you probably no more about Diablo's lore than anyone else. Blizzard staff included.
Thank you, but let us hope not! I'm counting on someone at BlizzHQ having a much more consistent explanation for these troublesome discrepancies :hammy:
