posted a message on hacker/botting threads
    Quote from jedivh

    So once apon a time,
Hacker A comes into a forum to start a thread about the progress of bot/hack. Now this hacker claims he is reporting all this for the good of the game, but then he also says if alot of other people hack he will too. So then he posts pics and videos.
He posts his thoughts and ideas about said hacks/bots. Then a whole discussion takes place about the bots/hacks and what it will do to the game.

Meanwhile hacker B comes in and reads the thread. Then he says to himself, hey I didn't know there was a working bot for D3 I need to find out about this. Hacker B makes post asking hacker A where he found this information. Hacker A says well its against forum rules to post links. So hacker B sends hacker A a personal message asking for the info then hacker A gives it to him.
After that hacker B goes and reads and researches all about these bots/hacks. He figures out how it all works. Then he decides he should make a guide on how to use these bots/hacks sense noone else has done so.
After making the guide that he posts to some file hosting site or a hacker site to be viewed or downloaded.
Hacker B then comes back to the forums saying he knows all about the bot/hack. He gives all his ideas and opinions about it blah blah blah. He also mentions he has even made a guide about.

Now, another hacker, hacker C comes in to read all this. He says, wow a new bot/hack I need to find out how to use this. So he asks hacker B (in a personal message sense links/guides are against forum rules) where can i get your guide on said hack/bot?
Hacker B tells him. Then hacker C tells two friends then they tell two friends etc... till the whole internet is talking about it.

    The End :)

    More like:

Hacker A starts an unmoderated blog, or tags the youtube videos mentioned, and Hacker B-Z, being skilled hackers, have heard of google.

Just such interesting personalities on here.

Oh, and Trombone, I'm sure lots of people listen to you, in some voice or other. You're a smart, open minded, objective person. A bit atypical in a good way. LOL!

This is not Blizzard's site. It is an independent forum about the game. Any news that effects Diablo III seems like fair game, and worth mentioning. A lot of people are wondering how the economy is going to work, and if there will be bots all over the place. People interested in the future of this game will definitely be wondering whether bots will be possible. It is relevant news.

I do think glitches and hacks should be reported to Blizzard. But I don't think posting them here is ireesponsible. Anythig that becomes such common kowledge that it's discussed publicly on major fan sites, blizzard will probably address quickly anyway. And censoring this site definitely won't reduce hacking. The internet is a very big place and once someone finds a way to hack this game, word will spread.

When it happens, people who are playing by the rules will definitely want to know what is going on.

That seems non-cosntructive and completely backward to me. I think pretty much every point of debate from the PvP side of this discussion has been answered logically and politely at some point. And some PvPers have been rational and talked constructively too. Then you have posts like this. In my experience, when someone starts raging and trying to bully their way through a debate on cheep insults and testosterone, it is because they know they don't have answeres and fall back on intimidation.

Sorry if I'm being equally non-cosntructive, but the character of this post is just highly annoying.

How is that counter designing? if there is so many skills that are viable then use something else.

You just pointed out how it's counter design. You have to use something else, thusly making the skill you were using nonviable. You are forced to not use a skill simply because of an aspect of the game that exists only to make you not able to use that skill. Hence, counter design.

EDIT: Immunities are the kinds of things that are better suited for tactical/turn based games. Ones where you can know what you're up against or have a team of characters that can somehow address the unknown. In a game you're supposed to be able to play by yourself, there should never be something that you literally can't even hurt. We're not talking about it being difficult to fight, but impossible to do so, simply because of your skill choices.

if a monster is 75% or more resistant to your attack you would of probably switched anyways so whats the difference? If your immune to an attack your going to do the same thing, what was the difference was in D2 you were punished be cause it healed the monster. Physical was eventually broken so that you could kill the monster but it took forever, where it got sloppy was every damn monster in hell had an immunity.

How can it be fix, the rune system ALREADY fixed this issue, the fact you can select an ability and change it to do some other fourm of damage means you can kill a monster with basicly anything. If a monster was phy immune and i was using Whirlwind from the barb, i would switch it to the fire whirlwind and be able to kill the monster. The point it blizzard put in all these abilities for us to use and what your saying is "immunities makes me switch" and the counter point is "so?" use something else.

The moment you present the factor of change people want to get all in a rage fest but its life. if a guy walking down the street robs you with a suit of armor on and he is completely cover so your guns bullets deflects off what then? you going to get mad your gun didnt work? Hell no you get your car keys and show him who is boss.

The game is designed to be fast paced. You are not supposed to have to stop and go through menus to respecc skills or runes to win a fight. Blizzard put in the cool downs, and made respeccing end your NV buff, both to discourage this kind of slow play. The skills you have selected will not always be optimal, but it should always be at least possible to win without respeccing. That is clearly what they are going for. The free respeccs are so you can test and decide what you want to use. They are not setting up the game so that you have to stop fighting and respecc constantly to match immunities/resistances.

This is for arena discussion, nothing to do with dueling.

It's how you balance for pvp? I'm sorry you dont understand simple logic.

If you want to balance PvP you eliminate things that cause the imbalance.

if Gear is no longer a factor, Introduce PSR and MMR.

grats, you now fight opponents solely based on skill. Gear is not an issue. These are steps you take for balance.

The gear you earn in DotA, or the gear you earn in CS, is a direct result of you, and your teams performance in the game. You do not start with a gear advantage, this causes balance issues.

If you hit 10% harder than me? how is this a fair fight? If we both hit as hard, then it comes down to skill, and build. I should never lose to you in a PvP match because you spent IRL money on god tier items. This is not balanced PvP.

I aggree that it is what you would have to do to balance it. But there are problems. The gear is part of your build. Your skills and playstyle are largely supported by specific equipment decisions. So you are taking a lot of depth out of the game when gear is decided based on what is available within a match.
