    Hey Moderators

I notice a lot of first time posters/new accounts in the contest thread - I hope what you say about ensuring people aren't cheating is true. While it is cool you will be randomly selecting the winners, please make sure that if a random chosen person is some 'new only just created account' that is isn't someone who has made duplicate posts, or say got 500 friends to just pop up a build they generated :( Cos that sucks for those of us who have followed this site and been posting and trying to win fairly.

posted a message on DiabloFans Calculator Build Contest (ONE POST ONLY)

Ok, so this is my character build for the first character I create, a WitchDoctor called BunnyVoodoo.

In all honesty I would like to have fitted in Locust Swarm, but it is hard to judge exactly as I haven't played the game yet.

Firebats: I love Firebats, it looks cool, it appears to do good damage, and the improvement to 200% weapon damage as fire seems like the best deal from the runestones

Haunt: I have seen Force use Haunt a fair bit in his videos, and it works especially well if your weapon damage is good. Obviously if my weapon is shit, I would probably remove it, but based on a good weapon I think this is a good crowd control combined with damage dealing skill - esp with grasping spirit rune.

For the Action Bar skills I tired to follow the suggested pattern of Defensive, Terror, Decay and Voodoo just for organisation. I don't like the suggestion, I would organise them in game based on what felt ergonomically good to use, but for here I will keep with it :)

so Defensive: Summon Zombie Dogs. These appear to be a bread and butter, distract the crowd and take some heat from direct attacks to my character. I feel the Leeching rune will help in those situations where crowd is becoming an issues - so a little bit of health could be beneficial in that situation

Terror: Mass Confusion - ok, again crowd control - stumble and do some damage to each other seems more advantageous than simply horrify

Decay: Zombie Charger - a great way to clear a path - get some good damage done. The rune of three is ok, but a little unsure whether I would prefer just one stronger charger to be honest. This I would have to test

Voodoo: Gargantuan. Who wouldn't want a big hulking dude to do damage for ya? Seriously, I want to see this fighting at my side - and I have always been a fan of slow lingering poison damage (it was annoying to be hit with in D2) so I liked that Rune.

Passive Skills: Vermin - to improve my troops, Zombie Handler seemed good for both dogs/gargantuan, and Death Trance handy for when you hit those pesky moments where a fast reaction can help keep you alive.

Hope you like it! Alas it is just theoretical - would love to test it out in game :) :)

posted a message on Hex in Boss Fights?
Every time I see the Hex skill in the Beta play-through (alas I don't have a key :(!! ) I wonder how efficient it may be to use it during a boss fight. I mean, can the little Fetish Shaman hex a boss and turn it into a chicken?
It is frustrating when you see it being used and a weakling demon just gets turned into a chicken, but imagine the potential of turning say the skeleton king himself into a small chicken? How awesome would that be?!
Or am I just totally missing out on something here that means this wouldn't work? Admittedly the shaman often runs off and appears to be entirely inefficient in his spell casting :(

posted a message on Simple Spell Tooltips Live, Blue on Patch 10,Beta Level Cap, Vote for D3, Weekly Roundup
I have to wonder if I am the only one put off by the thought that this game, and its design changes, are possibly being influenced in some way by the desire to make it simple enough for mothers and grandmothers........No offense, but is this really what we are after? This isn't farmville, words with friends, or indeed any other casual game played on FB to fill in time - it is mean't to be a game that die hard fans, and less die hard fans, or at least 'gamers' have been waiting years for. I don't like the idea that D3 is somehow being touted as the intro game for those wanting to learn how to play action RPGs.
When I play this game, finally, I want it to feel like a complex, more beefed out version of D2 with extra stuff I can get my teeth into. Sure the basic gameplay may be simple - and how can it not be - click and kill afterall - but alongside all that I want to craft my character, find awesome weapons or accessories I can craft or upgrade, and so on and so on.

    Still no Beta invite *GROOOOAAAANNNNSSS*
The artisan's look cool - I shall reserve judgment on their abilities however until I get to play. Looks like some great recipes but I find it hard to crunch numbers etc in my mind in regards to the improved stats they may offer on crafting.

I was selected, nothing special.. , maybe thats because of my laptop - too much lag, but still happy. As I am finished D3 beta, I am planing to give to someone possibility to play, if anyone interested - PM.

Nice thought Iarti - but I don't think you can do that :(

It's hard not to feel bitter when people brag about having a key, and they say they don't even care about the game or haven't had time to play, let alone plan on actually 'testing' and supplying feedback; meanwhile, fans are ripping out their eyeballs in despair everyday when they see their email and bnet account empty :/
I even dreamed about getting a beta invite email last night! It looked so pretty in my dream heh
In other news, I swear Forums should be nicknamed Trollums

RE CE wings...I am pretty sure there is also an official Blizzard quote somewhere in the forums that says the wings can be taken off, put in your shared stash, and worn by other characters. The biggest question was what happens in Hardcore mode if you die :(

posted a message on Every Class Uses Attack Power
So will orbs and wands have increased attack damage? Rather than puny specs? or will there be something to make up for their lower attack damage - like faster cast rate? Either way, their vital stats will probably need to pumped a bit to make them viable - as in, attack might need to only have a few points less than a sword, and then a faster cast rate to even it out.
I think that is what I have been hearing - that cast rate is the main value of orbs and wands/staffs....but like I say - the attack damage will need to be upped cos starve's are generally puny weapons where even in Act 3 of D2 if you hit something you are doing like 5 damage heh :P
I think the issue is that most of us can't make any serious criticisms because we haven't played yet!! :P
