Looking around youtube I found a few older videos that you either forgot about, or maybe didn't even see. Just helping the wait until may 15th. I'll update as I find more. I forgot how awesome of the later zones look.
Started collecting during my first deployment, slowed down somewhat but it's still a big hobby of mine. I have a bunch of other stuff, ranging from WC1/WC2 big box editions, all of the books pertaining to each universe, and even the strategy guide for each game (yea I was really going obsessive here), but I haven't bought more space to put it somewhere so it sits in the closet. I hope you enjoy!
I agree with OP besides his last point on the DH. I have regular gear some dex some not, wi th 17.6 dps bows, and I literally shred everything. Not in the AOE sense of the other classes, but pretty fast. As well with vault runed and preparation, you can effectively use it 6 times before you have no more discipline and it allows for super fast running of levels. While barb is my main, with wizard a close second, DH will undoubtedly be my 2.5 or 3rd champion I roll. With her ability to kite she allows for a more skilled play style and I personally think she's strong as hell.
I didn't upgrade only for diablo 3, but if you run with everything maxed, maxing out the graphical settings in the nvidia control panel, and using AO, I needed 580 gtx sli to maintain solid 120 fps, (I have 120hz monitors so that's the fps I require to be easy on the eyes.
Setup:
2600K @ 5ghz
Asus Max. Extreme IV
EVGA 580 GTX SLI
8gb Crucial Dominator 2133 Ram
Again this is on the extreme side but I run 3 Asus 120hz monitors so I had to get a motherboard that would support 3 cards (3rd is a 520 gt for physx and to run my 3rd monitor) and I like to watch streams/look at guides while gaming
First pick is the monitors, second is before I got my 3rd, but shows the desktop and part of my blizzard collection http://imgur.com/qLSGU,tvVxf#0
Generally when I play RPGs I always play one archetype. Warrior/Barbarian that dual weilds. However for some reason in d3 every time I see or play the other classes, they feel so unique and awesome in their own regard. Besides the awkward interface for the new skill runes, beta patch 13 feels awesome.
Am I alone on this? I'm actually looking forward to rolling other characters just due to how unique they all are.
ps. beta patch 13 is super solid, hopefully this is the last major hurtle before release
With all the hacking and slashing it's sometimes hard to appreciate how much blizzard put into the detail of the game. I first noticed while playing my barbarian in the wildness and my attacks where causing the grass to sway.
It's a pretty noticeable difference. Not only from texture quality (I understand it's a youtube video), but the animations and polish of the environment and monsters. Maybe it's the placebo effect, but I've looked at it pretty closely and I can tell. Either way, I run beta at max possible everything in the nvidia control panel (64x aa) and it looks amazing, I cannot wait.
I've been searching local stores for the last two weeks and haven't had any luck with getting my hands on a per-ordered CE of DIII. I did however notice that Amazon.com has copies available and was wondering what kinda wait time I should expect if I were to order the game from them?
What is a reasonable time frame to expect my game to arrive with-in?
Do they send the game out before release date -or- do they wait until the official day of release to send out orders?
I preordered from Amazon, and from my previous knowledge of using them, if a game is supposed to release on a day, they ship it overnight the day before (at least I selected overnight shipping) so it arrives that day. Other than that not too sure. If I don't get it exactly at midnight or whatever I'll be fine, give the game some time to settle down after release anyways. Plus I'm all grown up now, got work and stuff, can't wait up late at a game shop ;(
TBH the more I play the beta the more I think this game isnt that great. It feels like I am just solo farming for materials in world of warcraft, which I hate doing. Often times I find myself wondering if I am just suffering from Diablo 2 nostalgia, and in reality this game isnt that good.
I realize there will be new content on release, but at some point it will be the same as the beta. Continually farming the same mobs over and over. Its just like farming raid materials in WoW, except I don't get to have the fun of the raid afterwards.
That's because you are playing the beta, which is lvl capped at 13, and after that all you are doing is trying to improve things as best as possible within a small confined space. Once you are progressing, learning more storyline, actually able to use some of those high lvl items that you can craft, it's not the same. Also with inferno going to be stupid hard, it will add lots of replayability. Don't forget constant support, patches, new stuff being put in.
For me, this is the first diablo where I enjoy playing all the classes, and anticipating playing through each one to 60 with barbarian as my main.
