Cain approaches the hero after slaying Baal, and hands the hero 4 runes (runes so powerful that only 1 of each has ever been brought into existence) explaining that these 4 runes will wipe the nightmares from the hero's head, by removing all memories of the battles he/she has fought.
Hero then takes the runes places them in the cube and transmutes them....
Cain smiles triumphantly, then tells the Hero "thanks for making this so easy for him, explaining how those stupid "so called Lords" would never bow down to him, so it was in his best interest to get rid of them."
The transmutation then begins to happen to the Hero (horns, grows in size, big ugly teeth, insert 1001 more ideas here... just make it gruesome and very memorable), and when it is complete he has become the guardian of the cube, there only to serve Cain.
Cain creates a red portal and tells the Demon to enter the portal and to kill anyone/anything that attempts to come after the cube.
The Demon enters the portal to be sent to a castle half in ruins.
(I could go into far greater detail but last time I tried that my session logged out and I lost everthing I had typed in.... so hopefully this is enough for people to get the gist of it.)
