What if I love both the D2 system and the D3 system? I consider myself a true diablo-fan just as any Joe blow would in this thread. I fell into obsession with D1, D2, and just because I like the changes they're making with the D3 system while also equally liking the D2 system, that makes me not a true fan?Quote from Gryzorz

I don't get it? What is it that you call a "true" diablo fan? because you hint that people playing wow and sc2 are NOT "true"diablo fans... does that involve other games?
For instance, I'm playing lol, wc3, tf2 and l4d2... Haven't touched d2 since open beta weekend... Does that make me a "true" fan?
It depends, if you're a D2-like system nostalgic, then you're a true Diablo fan, because I have decided that D2 represents the nature of what a TRUE Diablo game should be like (and it happens to be the kind of system I enjoy).
If you think all those casual-catering changes are good, then you're not a true Diablo fan, because I said so.
/irony
True fans can cope with change, if you do nothing but cry about how different the D3 system is in comparison to the D2 system (pointing absolutely no fingers at anyone here) then that's fine, but those who call themselves 'True Diablo-fans' refuse to buy the game because of a that change aren't really fans now are they.
It's almost like what people do with games that have sequels and so on. They loved the first game, referred to themselves as a die-hard fan but as soon as the sequel came out all these changes were made. They didn't like the changes at all, still bought the game but they just didn't enjoy it quite enough. These may not be game-changing changes mind you, just ones similar to the D2 to D3 comparison.
Really what we're dealing with here is fans of a game rather than a franchise. I think that's where some people get confused. If you love the franchise then you can take changes like they've made into your stride, brush it off - doesn't make you lose sleep at all! you are a True Diablo-fan. Though If you just liked one game, say D2 (you liked D1 and D3 but D2 was the peak of awesomeness, the deal-sealer, you would write a report on how awesome you thought it was, in your opinon) then you just like that particular game don't you? This in my opinion makes you a Diablo-fan. Not a true Diablo-fan.
Anyway that's my two cents, hopefully you don't take this the wrong way. -

ButtonNose posted a message on Has D3 lost their true diablo fans?I remember a friend of mine burned me a copy of D1 just before D2 came out. I fell in love with it and only stopped playing because I died in hell and was unable to get back to my body and retrieve my gear.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
I was sooo excited to get D2 and was crushed when I found out that my computer at the time couldnt run it. I would go to a neighbor kids house, who I didnt even like, just so i could watch him play it. It took 2 looong years to save up enough money to get a new rig for myself. Again LOVED D2 and played it for a solid 4 or 5 years.
and here I am again more excited than ever to play D3. absolutley cannot wait! -

Sabvre posted a message on So, US 9hrs after EU?Posted in: Diablo III General DiscussionQuote from Nastai
So Europe gets to play first, then where?
From reading comments it sounds like PST gets on first in the US, then Midwest, then EST?
That is not how the temporal dimension of time works. You see ... time ... while not a constant is measured at near constants across the planet.
12:01PST is the EXACT same point in time across the planet. The symbol of what hour it is... fluxuates by timezone.
If what you mean is... it will be a later hour... than yes. EST is unable to play until a later time at night. hahah -

Actually, according to a scientific study i read in a magazine called "Illustrerad Vetenskap" roughly translated into "Illustrated Science"
Men excel in almost everything in life, and women excel in endurance for longer periods of time (like 20h+ or so, something about taking stored fat and using it) and aim, . It's how we were built. I'm not sure if intelligence part were involved in the study, but physical attributes were. Maybe it's hard to determine IQ between the sexes. Or maybe we are about equal in that area?
I personally don't think that men believe women to be incompetent. Maybe in certain areas of the world, but not in the modern society. We are however different, in both appearance and mental state. That goes between the male to male as well as female to female, not just male to female comparision. But generally people tend to refer to mens muscles and womens curves or boobies.
Farmville is a game found on Facebook, a community type of page where one usually reveals their first and last name and can maintain contact with their friends and familes.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FarmVille
There are definitely differences between males and females, I would be an idiot to spout otherwise (see sexual dimorphism). The fact that men are better at "almost everything in life" is bullshit, though.
The reason why I take this stance, though I am a male, is when we look at the brain, men start looking bad. My old Psychology always said, "Men are like Dodge Neons, and women are like a Mercedes Benz." Men get the shorter end of the stick every time, being more susceptible to diseases, disorders, and other things that women suffer from in much smaller percentages (our Y chromosome just can't beat the female's second X chromosome).
Furthermore, the corpus collosum in the female brain is much, much thicker, compared to the males brain, suggesting that higher rates of activity between the two brain hemispheres happen in the female brain. This impacts all intelligences, including problem solving, social skills, memory, and a host of other kinds of intelligences (see Howard Gardner's theory of Multiple Intelligences).
The truth is, we suppress women to make them into controllable pawns. This isn't always conscious--I'm not saying we're all assholes and hate women; I'm merely saying that men have built society the most and women play the game in a world we've established.
I believe in the advancement of humans as a whole, and until we support equality and women's rights, all of men's unalienable rights cannot be realized.
Now that you know what Farmville is (Oh, wikipedia. Some people would be so lost without you.), go ahead and see if you can find what the female population is like on that, or any other video game in that genre of gaming.
Point in check: Women are good at video games, too. You're a sexist, misinformed idiot if you refuse to recognize this. There aren't any substantial barriers attributing to women not being interested in video games. If anything, they would like it a hell of a lot more than we could because they are social beings, and, well, video games revolve around communities of people. We all need to grow up because, really, nobody likes a sausage fest all the time, even most homosexual males. -

And how many attractive men are gamers? I'm sure not as many as ugly ones. Just saying.
A gamer is a gamer. Nothing to do with appearance.
I wasn't quite sure how to put it, but you've done a nice job already.
Really, guys. I know it's fun to pretend women are incompetent because men fear losing dominance over women in society, but you're giving us non-sexists a bad name.
By the way, do you guys have any idea what Farmville is? -

NektelMP posted a message on Blizzard: D3 DH = D3 MonkNot that this even really needed to be discussed, but the women being depicted at the same cup size. The bottom part of the breast is the same place/shape, and the larger part over the top is attributed to the THREE FLAPS of metal plating over the top. Consider the difference in size after three flaps of metal are taken away... I come away with.... No difference.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

In game on your character sheet, near the bottom it says your DPS. This is the DPS of your basic attack. If you mouse over it, it says this:
"Your damage per with your currently equipped weapons using Basic Attack against an unarmored target. This amount includes damage bonuses from your Attack, Critical Hit Chance, Critical Hit Damage Bonus, Traits and any active effects. It does not take into account damage increases from your skills and runes."
So, whatever that number is on your character sheet, it takes into account all those stats, and then your skill damage is based off that number.
Hope that helps.

Just killed some skeletons and zombies. They seemed to stay there until I walked away so they were off the screen far enough before despawning. They may stay on the ground until you walk away.
As for how long loot stays on the ground, I've been staring at a piece of loot that dropped for over 15 minutes. If I port to town and come back to that spot, it's still there. So I think it's safe to say it stays there for quite some time.

Verity, you were close about the name!
I was mistaken, his name was in purple, he just glows yellow, and with how fast he disappeared all the time I never got a good look. But I got a screenshot this time!
He had a whopping 34~ HP, and when he died he dropped nothing. What a cheap bastard.
Seeing his name, and knowing he's one of the grave diggers, the description makes more sense to me. It was just a very "WTF" moment when all I saw was the "Must be shovelling off" and then he'd die so fast I didn't get to see his name or anything else.

The origin of Binkles the frog -
"You scum!"
"Darling, please, it's not what you think..."
Of course it's what you think, it's always just what you think. Your asshole husband in bed with another woman - it's exactly what it looks like, exactly what you think it is.
The strange woman gets up out of the bed and hurries out of the room, naked, with nothing covering her except for a cloud of embarrassment.
You eye your husband as if you're about to straddle him and pierce his heart with a poison dagger.
What the hell was he thinking? He vowed to stay faithful to you for all eternity.
Now this? What happened to what you once shared...
You met him when you were barely an adult, out in the world on your own for the first time, doing what you felt was right to help humanity. You had gotten yourself into a little trouble, and he was there, he helped you out. He was your hero.
Your hero. This is your hero?
At that time, he didn't quite understand you. You explained to him that you were a witch doctor, you dealt with spirits, voodoo, poisons, but he didn't understand any of it.
Despite differences, however, the two of you fell in love. You complemented each other well in battle with anything that came against you. The two of you promised to spend your life together, forever. Always together, until the very end.
"What were you thinking?" You cry, rage in your voice. "What of our promise?"
"We still have our promise..." He stammers, "We're-We will still be together. She was nothing, just- We'll always be together, my dear..."
He was right, the two of you would always be together. In one swift motion you jump atop him, your hand coming up to his neck. You smell the sweat stench from the strange woman on him and you do not hesitate. Where your hand was placed on his neck, it's now the sharp end of a dart, slowly pumping dark liquid into his veins.
"What was that?! What did you..." He's grabbing desperately at the object sticking out of his neck.
You stand up tall over him. "You're right, my dear." You grin. "We will be together until the end. But I won't have you in bed with every harlot that comes into town."
He starts to shake his head, but suddenly pain takes over his entire body. His limbs start to transform, smaller at first, then elongated, with webbing between each digit. His body shrinks, his skin turns smooth and the colour changes. His neck is replaced by a large jaw, and his eyes grow big and round.
All that sits in front of you in the blankets thrown about the bed is a small frog.
You pick him up, and pat him gently.
"Yes, my dear. We will always fight together."

I had a great guild at one point and we raided in a tight group and did extremely well. It was like raiding with a group of friends. During Cata, people got busy, people had to quit, eventually I myself had to take a break because of real life things. When I came back to the game a few months later, I discovered everyone I played with had quit. I joined a guild my brother was in, tried it for a while, it wasn't the same though, so I didn't see a point in sticking around.
I felt WoW was more fun earlier on for me, and later on I only stuck around because of the people I was involved with. When they were gone, I had no reason to stay, but I also felt the game just wasn't for me anymore. I don't hate the game, but I won't play it again. I also felt since I was paying for it monthly I HAD to play, or I was wasting my money, so it took up a lot more of my time than I wanted it to, even if I was just sitting around in Org doing nothing at all.
I played WoW pretty hardcore, and was a huge achievement whore, and I think I kind of burnt myself out over it too. :/

I've been wanting to make up a picture of Deathwing for a while now, I just never feel too motivated to do art lately. I love dragons, and I really like Deathwing's design, so it must be done!
