Oct 24, 2011Jaelzadeon posted a message on Release Date or Release Fake?Posted in: NewsQuote from Nightblaze1
Now this is just not fair. Talk about contradicting your own rules. When other people posted this "speculation" of a release date on the forums all those topics were blocked. Why do you have the rite to post this and we do not?
I disagree with what you are saying. I think it's a good thing they posted this - on the main page where a lot of people where see it - because too many people are seeing fake release dates and getting super excited and spreading it around thinking it's a real release date. This post is bringing to attention that a lot of these dates are indeed fake, and people need to watch out for them. Basically telling all those gullible people out there to smarten up and stop being silly.
I guess there is a difference when someone posts a thread saying OMG THIS IS THE RELEASE DATE! vs when someone posts a thread saying it's speculation. Either way, I think the comments in those threads always end up going in the same direction anyway.
As for me, I'm not believing any release date until I hear it from Blizzard. I didn't know when to expect the game originally, and when the beta started in Sept, I had a guess in my head that it would come out in March 2012, based on something that Jay Wilson had said (that the Beta will start 6 months before release). I was actually surprised when they said originally they wanted it out this year and they had to push it back. I had no idea they wanted it to come out so soon. So really, I think it'll come out sooner than I expected, which is nice for me. -
Oct 24, 2011Jaelzadeon posted a message on Beta Key Contest #4I'm not good at writing stories. I always get ideas in my head, but have no idea how to really put them together to make them sound as cool as I think they are. Anyway, I'm not going to pass up a chance for a Diablo III beta key, so here's my attempt.Posted in: News
The origin of Binkles the frog -
"You scum!"
"Darling, please, it's not what you think..."
Of course it's what you think, it's always just what you think. Your asshole husband in bed with another woman - it's exactly what it looks like, exactly what you think it is.
The strange woman gets up out of the bed and hurries out of the room, naked, with nothing covering her except for a cloud of embarrassment.
You eye your husband as if you're about to straddle him and pierce his heart with a poison dagger.
What the hell was he thinking? He vowed to stay faithful to you for all eternity.
Now this? What happened to what you once shared...
You met him when you were barely an adult, out in the world on your own for the first time, doing what you felt was right to help humanity. You had gotten yourself into a little trouble, and he was there, he helped you out. He was your hero.
Your hero. This is your hero?
At that time, he didn't quite understand you. You explained to him that you were a witch doctor, you dealt with spirits, voodoo, poisons, but he didn't understand any of it.
Despite differences, however, the two of you fell in love. You complemented each other well in battle with anything that came against you. The two of you promised to spend your life together, forever. Always together, until the very end.
"What were you thinking?" You cry, rage in your voice. "What of our promise?"
"We still have our promise..." He stammers, "We're-We will still be together. She was nothing, just- We'll always be together, my dear..."
He was right, the two of you would always be together. In one swift motion you jump atop him, your hand coming up to his neck. You smell the sweat stench from the strange woman on him and you do not hesitate. Where your hand was placed on his neck, it's now the sharp end of a dart, slowly pumping dark liquid into his veins.
"What was that?! What did you..." He's grabbing desperately at the object sticking out of his neck.
You stand up tall over him. "You're right, my dear." You grin. "We will be together until the end. But I won't have you in bed with every harlot that comes into town."
He starts to shake his head, but suddenly pain takes over his entire body. His limbs start to transform, smaller at first, then elongated, with webbing between each digit. His body shrinks, his skin turns smooth and the colour changes. His neck is replaced by a large jaw, and his eyes grow big and round.
All that sits in front of you in the blankets thrown about the bed is a small frog.
You pick him up, and pat him gently.
"Yes, my dear. We will always fight together." -

Oct 15, 2011Jaelzadeon posted a message on DiabloCast: Episode XXXPersonally, I never did PVP in Diablo II. I mostly played on my own, usually the single player version of the game, so I didn't even log into Bnet most the time. What I found fun was leveling up and farming to find better/interesting gear.Posted in: News
It's not right to say that end game in Diablo II was PVP, OR PVE. End game was whatever each individual person made of it. WoW is the same in a sense; Some people at max level do raids, and some people invest their time in PVP. It's whatever they want to do, which is what makes these games more enjoyable. You can choose what you want to do, and aren't forced to do just one thing. -

I'm sure when the game is released, there will be plenty of bugs, hopefully mostly small things. But like someone already said, what game doesn't have bugs when it comes out? Every time WoW has a patch the game is buggy as hell for a period of time. They'll just patch it up as soon as they can.
Also, for those of you who have had little experience with bugs, it doesn't mean there aren't many. There's still stuff being posted up in the bug forum (though a lot of it seems to already be known), some of it is weird stuff like screenshots not showing up right and such. I think Blizzard has fixed a lot of that stuff though, and it just hasn't been reflected in a beta patch yet.

But really, I see their point that not everyone has a good monitor, so they can look close together. On my ancient monitor I used to use they would sometimes look the same, but that's not the case anymore. But I agree, they could have changed the colour of rare, or brightened up the gold, or something (or like Zero said, make it shiny).
In the end, I personally don't care what colour they use. It could be hot pink and I'd learn to love it because it's legendary!

I can agree with these, especially since the beta is so short and it would make me crave the game even more! However, I don't think it's too hard to win, it's just that it's such a low chance a specific person will get a beta key. There's so, so many people who have signed up for the beta, entering these contests, sweepstakes, etc, so I know the chance of my getting a key is pretty low. I would still love to get one, but I don't expect to get one and I don't spend too much time thinking about it. I will enter any contests I find that give them away, if it's not too ridiculous, and just see what happens.
If I got into the beta that'd be great, but since it's so short I think it would get kind of boring after spending most of my time for a few days on it.
