This is the only year in my life that I've wanted Christmas to hurry up and get over with .

Are you a kid or do you have kids? Those are the only times Christmas is any fun.

Well i do have kids and the holidays is a lot of fun at my house. Sorry yours isn't. But yeah I just want to get the new year here so we can fianlly get D3 in our hands.

I don't have kids so it's just another day to me. It's not like I'm sitting alone in front of the TV or anything, family do come over and we have some drinks and all that but the magic is gone when kids aren't involved as it's their excitement that makes it special.

You want the red pill or the blue pill....wait nevermind, heres some Cocaine and Whiskey...enjoy! :)

What's wrong is their real motive is to increase WoW activity and subscriptions, not to promote Diablo 3. This promotion is definitely not intended for the active WoW subscribers already plugged into the system. The people who came up with this idea could not possibly care less about the current reliable revenue sources (aka humans paying monthly for WoW).

People are going to have a year's worth of WoW time, which will divide the community, not create a smooth transition from WoW to Diablo 3, which is how they are masquerading this move.

In reality, a transition from WoW to Diablo 3 is the exact opposite of what they want. They want potential Diablo 3 customers to subscribe to a year of WoW.

    See it now?

    Why do you even care?

I don't get it. If people play Diablo 3 and it's good, they'll keep playing it. Who cares if they get it discounted through WoW or not?

Good lord man, you act like they are taking a shot at your manhood or something. It's a freaking video game. If it is fun, people will play it. The people doing this likely would have bought D3 and/or WoW anyways... now they just get both.

So really, who cares? It's totally irrelevant.

My contention is that it's NOT totally irrelevant. My objection comes down to this: I want Blizzard to let WoW die, because
    1. It will strengthen in numbers and longevity the Diablo 3 player base
    2. In the long run they will be able to focus more resources on their future releases, and not an IP which is dead to me and a growing number of gamers.

So yeah, PLEASE EXCUSE ME for objecting to something on principle. My opinion doesn't match yours, but why are you so offended by that? Blizzard's not gonna change their policy, but I'm practicing my right to free speech.

Read the following carefully: I am not trying to change your mind. I am expressing my opinion. If you want to try and change my opinion, give me sound logical arguments or rebuttals of my premises, without the personal attacks. Your lack of meaningful rebuttal lead you to the tired ad-hominem implication that I'm having some kind of e-peen problem, when actually it's you who seem to have a butt full of hurting.

tell the 9 million+ people still subscribing it is dead! the numbers dont lie and your opinion does not matter to blizzard to be honest. They HAVE to have money and if WoW fails, so be it...but I assure you that ALL Blizzard games have the potential to be the cash cow they need it to be if the issue arises. They take their time cause they can and it creates better games. Think back to other hurried failed attempts to steal Blizz thunder. Age of Conan, Hellgate London, Aion.....SWTOR??? we shall see on that one. There will be plenty playing D3 and if will get the support it needs, they just need to make sure that their products are designed, supported and prepared for longevity as all their titles have that allure about them. To me, non-issue...lets move on as this is the ONLY move they could have done to protect themselves from themselves.

Really, I'm indifferent about how Blizzard approaches there fan-base and market strategies, as long as I get the game I want. =)
    Same here B)

Third that. I will be using the auction house and proud of it. I am THRILLED they are internalizing this. I have used D2items.com many times and always felt shady for doing so...now, its in the game and the market will be a little better IMO as there will be WAY more cash sellers than just a few legit shops. Also, WoW is a product they want to keep alive and thriving so why not offer this promotion? Its no different than videocard companies throwing in free games with new graphics cards...incentive to choose this over that...really simple. I also want the community to be as large as possible and this is a great way to do so....believe me, being a 30yr old Diablo fan since the first offering, I can say that the younger crowd will get hooked to the loot and gambling feel to this game...its seriously like crack...the good kind, not that hood shit. :)
