Hey at least all these "useless contest" that only cause "spam" allow people a chance to play diablo 3. I mean we are all here for one reason and that is our passion for all things diablo. Honestly if they wanna give out random keys to people who contribute and are willing to add to a topic I have no issues. Yes we will have a lot of spam and useless topics but hey as long as the word of diablo 3 spreads I will be happy.
I would love to get my hands on this book. Finally time for the world of diablo to be fleshed out. Yea bits and pieces are thrown together via playing d1, d2, and d2exp but other then the books there has really been no "official" lore products out there. Honestly I am hoping this book does really well so we can see more of diablo and other blizzard franchises fleshed out and getting even more spotlight, the more money and more coverage blizzard gets the more they can invest back into the fans.
So its being delayed untill what december 26 2012 then.... The "end of the world" is not untill december of the year 2012, that is a major delay seeing as I am pretty sure they said "early 2012" for Diablo 3. Let alone the fact that its just bad business to release a game on the end of the world....
On topic, Probably wont affect anything I do not see blizzard actually caring when people "opted in" I do believe there should be some form of test though that would affect opt ins, something to prove you can catch a bug and be able to aptly describe it as a lot of people who want in just want to play the game and not help "fix" it
I agree, seems like the bug fixes may have been lingering problems they wanted to solve before opt in invites. Now that some people have got it hopefully they can test the waters and see how it all runs and then after tomorrow maybe a nice big wave of invites will arrive.
Every D2 mod, and D1 mod I have ever even attempted to play was horrible.
Diablo 3 will hopefully never be modded as it should be perfect the way it is.
UI modification is also almost pointless, its Diablo you do not need to know how much "dps, threat, etc" you are generating. Let alone the fact that all the hot keys you can have and shortcuts are already presented in the real ui. What more info do you need. Lets not over complicate what diablo is and pick up our mice and start clicking away please.
Great seems as if it is finally happening, hopefully it wont be to long for more and more invites to be sent out. I have a feeling they pulled some overtime to get the patch out and let a few more people in and maybe tomorrow we can see a full blown invasion of beta invites. I wont be to upset if I do not get in though, I have been accepted into the diablo 2, and wow betas, as well as sc2 beta so its not like I have never been able to test a blizzard product, but here is to hopes and dreams
or you could say it was delayed due to the numerous bugs that only took 70 or so people to discover. Think about what would happen when it gets overloaded with 500, 1000, 10,000, etc.... Blizzard has never and will never give a release date for they always want to make sure that a fully functional product hits the shelf. Everyone says they are long time blizzard fans but it does not seem that way. Honestly it was always "beta would start in September" well it did, even if it was just press it started as the press is not "family friends" Blizzard also stated they were "aiming" for 2011, never "its coming out 2011" So if you really want to get into it the game was never delayed as it never had an official date... On the other hand I found my old emails from the diablo 2 beta and it went on for about 2 months and shut down 6 days before the game was released. I can easily see this beta going on for 4-5 months now. The game will probably hit around feb sometime...
I really do not think they will check for updated drivers. and on the topic of "how good does my comp need to be" Well high end computers seem almost pointless to test on, of course they will run the game and they will run it great, blizzard is not making diablo 3 on a low end machine, they made it on top of the line equipment, there employees have top of the line equipment in the office and probably at home. They need the average consumer specs to test on. As the % of people who have beast computers is way lower then the % that has low-mid range computers. I consider myself tech savy and I build all of my own computers and I even only have a mid range computer. I would even say its low end as my MB is ancient but I got lucy since the bios update allowed for a quad core. Time will tell though.
I am almost tired of all the "wah it looks easy" or "is act 1 going to be difficult" threads.
The beta is not all of act 1, it isn't even half... The beta imo is almost the "tutorial" phase of the game. I am sure the difficulty will go up past the skeleton king. From pre beta footage in the desert it looks like there will be tons of mobs and it will be a steady attack all the time almost. Another thing if you watch any of forces videos you can see he gets very close to kicking the bucket every so often and he is a "pro" gamer. Difficulty is also a relative term so where the beta may actually be insane for some people its easy for others. You will have to wait and try out the game yourself to make the final verdict on what you think.
I have been in the Diablo 2 beta (or stress test whatever have you) WOW beta, WOTLK beta, and SC2 beta. I am hoping to add diablo 3 under my belt as I have a lot of time on my hands currently and would love to play the crap out of it and see if all the complaints are even a problem to me. It seems as if blizzard fans have got way to picky and think because its been 10 years since diablo 2 they DESERVE something. Fact of the matter is we dont DESERVE anything, and thinking you will get into the beta is always going to be a let down due to how selective blizzard is. I have yet to see any proof of more account being flagged and the fact that public games are only around 70 users makes me puke, they need to open the flood gates. With the game being delayed why not overload the servers now and fix it now rather then wait and possibly delay the game again.
Yup you missed nothing. No "opt-in" Invites have gone out and if they have its only been 1 or 2. Sadly Most people including me believe this was just a big ol crap fest. IMO Blizzard said "sepetember" for beta therefore they announced it started let press in and maybe let a few opt in in as well to meet that deadline. Sadly no one has really come forth stating they have been let in other then press. I have a feeling it will not be untill middle of october or november untill real invites start going out.
