Completely doctored stats. They take ALL chars into account for their stats. Given that probably 50-60% of all characters are mules, or under level 5, it's complete BS.
I'd estimate about 30-40% of all players are in Inferno. Probably more.
LOL. You have no perspective about any kind of gamer other than yourself (hardcore/skilled gamer) if you honestly believe what you just said.
Most of the people clear Normal and never continue. The other people probably couldn't make it through Nightmare.
You have to understand that most people are not you. We are the 1% (well probably more like top 5%) of gamers, and it wasn't hard to get here. It just happens because there are so many other gamers gaming for so many different reasons.
Blizzard may or may not be inflating their statistics but the real % in Inferno is not even half of what you suggested. Not even close.
Sure, if blinding yourself and feeling "elite" makes you all warm and fuzzy. Why don't they show the percentages of ACCOUNTS that have unlocked Inferno then?
No, the stats shown are chosen very carefully, in order to push a point.
You just don't have any perspective on the gaming population if you honestly believe anywhere near 40% of accounts have unlocked Inferno. That's just absurd.
Have you at least thought for a second that people in hell act 4 just don't want to go inferno seeing how hopeless it is? A little more than 1% that made it to inferno is nothing for blizzard to boast about. They think it means, 'oh you didnt make to inferno, then you have no reason to complain', wait what? DAFUQ? Need a slap, blizzard? There are so many messed up things in Daiblo 3 right now, that it's not just inferno. Almost everything is f*cked, except for graphics and pretty WoW spells. Even at that graphics are kiddie.

I feel the same about you.

Delusional? That's the whole point the majority BUYS the games. That's the reality. Media has a very good effect on people nowdays. "I mean sure, marketing hype could account for the first games sales, and maybe the second, but after that, players would have a pretty good idea what they would be getting." - THERE IT IS.
Listen, COD is not a bad game per se. It's a mindless-action game. Shit exploding everywhere, BOOM headshot! etc, so in a sense it cures boredom, kinda. That's why I call it for people that have ADHD, ANYONE can play it. But it has no depth, no intelligence curve to it like say, BattleField series or Arma 2 etc.

I did present a whole variety of specific criticism yesterday. And Daemaro deleted it because it was "uncivil".
What exactly are they doing with the skills? +/- to damage here and there, +/- 0.4 seconds here and there? You call that fixing?
You were the one that misdirected it to COD and other blizzard titles, hypocrite. Typical fanboy troll.

It's called marketing. There are way more ADHD kiddies out there than actual FPS lovers. You go for the common majority to generate more sales. Marketing 101. Yes, that REALITY. Stop living in a bubble world.

Any obvious Diablo 3 flaw that is pointed out on these forums is always called 'trolling and hating'. But pro Diablo 3 trolls are overlooked. Talk about bias. You guys can't take simple criticism. Blizzard preys on that, that's why they're so quick to delete criticism
threads on the official forums and they're working overtime. If you just say, 'oh the game has issues, but I'm sure it will be fixed' is just a weak attempt at calming yourself. You gotta present specific gripes about it and in numbers to make blizzard listen. Otherwise they don't care.
Remember the battle.net 2.0, when it was released without chat channels, people starting 'whining' and 'trolling' about it's lame features and how can there possibly not be chat channels? And after like 3 months, they finally implemented them even though before Blizzard said that, 'but seriously, who HONESTLY used chat channels? hurhurhur'. They're ignorant right now, we gotta open their eyes so that they fix this horrid disappointment.

I love it how you direct that at me and not the obvious troll that I'm responding to....
I'm just responding to his points. All he does is 'hur dur, wait for expansion I laugh at you, durhur'.

What real competition is there for WoW? Doesn't wow have like 10 million subscribers? Blizzard built a great name for their titles in early 2000s up until 2008. After that it took a U-turn. Now you see them make desperate attempts at regaining players like the 'buy x months/years of WoW subs and get a free 'non-wow blizzard product''.
HoTs I don't care for and I doubt it will sell more. Even Battlefield 2 sold more than Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3.
"Prediction #3 The first D3 expansion will hit or break the sales records D3 has set in the first week."
HAHAHA, nice one.

You can't possibly survey every single player. But taking into account those players that use these review websites, fan-sites like this one, the official forums etc, the majority IS disappointed. It is a good representation of the entire player base. And I highly doubt even 500,000 people are playing right now.

haha, that's what you guys said when the game was released and that's what you said after every fail patch and the population is still declining. I was also optimistic with a couple of initial patches, then I gave up because I saw that blizzard won't radically change Diablo 3. RMAH will always be a constant, it is a must for their business model.
Now to expansion. Given how much butthurt is out there about the game, a lot of people that thought of buying it, won't, I'm one of them. I uninstalled Diablo 3 a month ago and I don't even miss. But I'm a Diablo fan and I still have a small glimmer of hope left for Diablo 3, but it's REALLY small now because I see how Blizzard treats the franchise now and it's sad. It's probably gonna be another, 'buy 6 months world of warcraft subscription and you get free Diablo 3 expansion'. Even people that don't care for it and play wow would do it.

HAHA, 'professionally'. Dude, the game itself in the beginning is great. It is fun for the first 2 difficulties. Journalistic critics are shallow at this point and are irrelevant. I mean they even give COD good reviews. They didn't take into account the end-game of Diablo 3, the replayability aspect, etc. The based it on the pretty graphics, and gameplay with shit exploding and shaking oh how kewwwl. Users show the REAL feelings about the game. And as you can see, the majority is disappointed.

Wait for what?
0
lol, Diablo 3 sold on the name alone. And I wouldn't be surprised it having less players than Diablo 2 right now. The fact that it initially sold 10 million means nothing when you look at the user reviews on any gaming website including here. Go check out the 'is diablo 3 boring' thread.

Are we allowed to even criticize Diablo 3? Or is that uncivil?
0
Wtf did they fix? It's getting worse and worse and it is directly correlating with the significant drop in d3 players. Not even PVP will save the game. If you think it will, then you're in for a huge disappointment. Because that's the same as saying that that will be the only end-game. That is sad.

I do. And apparently you do too since you took the time out of your precious gaming to post that.
You obviously don't get the point. Diablo is not supposed to be a months or weeks game. Diablo was always about longevity and replayability, which Diablo 3 obviously lacks right now. Be honest with yourself, would you be still be playing this game in 5 years?
