Much ado about nothing. Blizz stated that they anticipated problems after launch and that their jobs are only just beginning.
Proportionately, I believe far more people are loving this game than those whom espouse hate for it. The haters are in an extreme minority.
Sure the launch could've been smoother, but no launch this large could logistically be executed without some rather serious issues. Blizz did a fantastic job wrangling up the issues in this unprecedented worldwide simultaneous release.
I can't decide if this is a sign of there being a god or not..
I'm sure divine intervention made it's mark on something as important as a game launch. Starvation, war, famine......all ancillary concerns next to the launch of an RPG.
TBC, WotLK, and Cataclysm launched smoothly, with each launch better than the last. Sure there were queues during the launch of TBC, but the servers were up, they were playable, and they didn't crash. With only some downtime due to maintenance. These were successful launches.
WoW currently has 10 million players, my guess for Diablo 3 is probably only 1 million at this point.
I was highly surprised by this major screw up.
Diablo was the most pre-ordered Blizzard game ever. Your estimate of 1 million is grossly underrated.
WoW's popularity steadily increased over a number of years, allowing Blizz to adjust incrementally. D3 was about 3.5 million nerds kicking the door in simultaneously.
Just give it time.....be patient. This game wasn't handed over with a determination of "this is how it is and always will be". the process is an evolving one, give it time to evolve.
The games you mentioned had nowhere near this sort of global traffic....period. Unless you can provide a link to dispute my claims? As well, they all had problems.

If this is purely for Diablo 3, save yourself the $$ and get the AMD. If you are just upgrading in general, get the Intel.
If it was me, I would get the 2500k (in fact, I did :P)

But really, unless you are going to SLI/Crossfire high end GPU's (which you don't appear to be), the 2500k is more than enough.
If you can wait, then definitely go for the 3570k (they aren't coming until April). Otherwise, stick with the 2500k.

It's between the XPS17 and the Sager. Based on the prices and the specs you gave me, I'd say the Sager is a better deal. They make great quality laptops (from what I've read, never owned one).
Sager gets my vote.

EDIT: This was directed at Ferret.
Official Blizzard Quote:
Core attributes are important. They're your core attributes! But they have never been and continue not to be the primary driving force behind your itemization choices. At all times you're going to need to keep doing and avoiding more damage. Enemies get tougher, they hit harder, and take more hits. No matter who you are you have to counter those inevitable truths. No character would ever say "I can ignore defensive stats because I am a glass cannon!" no, you get to Inferno and you'll die. You can be a glass cannon, but it's going to be a balance between offense and defense, not an all-in decision. There is an inevitable requirement to have a variety of the core stats, offensive and defensive. It's the balance that's important.
Ok, so, core stats are super great, but they're still just four of all the bonuses that items can roll and provide your character. Four. And for most builds they're never going to be where you're focusing your attention. The other things that can roll up (which still include +armor, +dodge, +health globe, +crit chance, +crit damage, by the way) have always been the more important decision. It's your choice between doing more damage or being more defensive, but that's a forgone conclusion. That's not where true build diversity ever comes from, it's too broad a plateau.
Are you taking Attack (before) or your classes' core damage stat (now)? Are you taking Armor (now) or Defense (before)? Are you taking Precision (before) or +crit (now)? These are the same things.
Barbarian's will always want Strength now just like they always wanted Attack before. Armor is a damage reduction. Dodge completely negates damage. They're extremely different in practice and your survivability, and at high difficulty play barbarians will absolutely want +dodge. And they don't have to take Dexterity to get it. Ideally a barbarian would find an item with +Stength and +Dodge on it. It would be devalued for the barb if it had +Dexterity on it. (tah dah itemization diversity)

White items are more like winning a pile of garbage. Who wants to win a pile of garbage on their lottery ticket?

Based on that, I think that a Q1 release is still very plausible. I'm going with my original estimate of: Announcement on Feb. 28 for a release date of March 27.
