Yeah if you die while playing alone or without allowing the loot then you lose everything outside of the stash. Im pretty sure that they kept the allow looting idea from D2
They annoucned at blizzcon that this will no longer be an option (unless it's changed since then).

Once you're dead, you're dead. Nothing on your character survives, only the items in your stash and your gold.

It's probably going to be tight, but you should be ok.

You will need a better power supply though if you are still using the stock 300w that comes with the computer. I wouldn't trust it running a dedicated graphics card.

Something like this should be good.

posted a message on Really wish we could just buy Beta Access
    Quote from Veggie50

How much would a beta key cost? They only need a certain number of players, so the price would be determined by the intersection with the amount of required players. Would you really be happy with a 250 dollar beta key?

The alternative would be for them to offer it at a lower price (say... 10 dollar?) but only offer a limited amount. This would result in this exact same situation we have now, only discriminating against poor people.

I don't see how them selling beta keys could solve anything... anything at all.
I'd say $5 for a "stand-alone" key, or $25 if you sign into a pre-order (which would go towards the purchase of the game).

As for what it would solve? It would solve people getting in the beta who want to be, but aren't.

I think the beta is a blast and I definitely would pay for a key. I've logged at least 100 hours playing it and look forward to each character reset. If the first 3rd of act 1 of normal difficulty keeps me occupied for this much time, I can only imagine how awesome this game is going to be.

posted a message on Nephalem Alter change. Thoughts?
No...this change is bad in my opinion. It's a step in the right direction, but still bad.

How would I do it? Allow skills to be swapped at any time with no cooldown, but put a 5 second cast time on it (which would be interrupted when attacked by an enemy). This would prevent "hot swapping" mid-fight, but still allow people to try new skills in the field.

Also, being in town would allow you to change skills with no penalty (this should have been obvious) and earning a new skill should allow you a one-time free swap of the new skill with one you already have.

posted a message on Do garbage items make finding rares more satisfying?
    Quote from Keiser

Losing lottery tickets are useless. I think they should remove those from state lotteries.

Or you can kill countless monsters and have NOTHING drop at all, I bet that would be exciting. Personally I'd rather have mounds of stuff hitting the ground, as it would be if I was cutting a swath through a horde of hell fiends.
Except white items aren't like the losing lottery tickets. Losing would be the monster not dropping anything at all (like you not winning anything on a lottery ticket).

White items are more like winning a pile of garbage. Who wants to win a pile of garbage on their lottery ticket?

You could always do the bosses on regular before attempting them on hardcore. Then you would know exactly how difficult they are and avoid this whole situation entirely.

That is very old news :) and maybe 1 of the reasons why it's delayed.

posted a message on D3 for Console

    Official Blizzard Quote:

As some of you may have seen over on the Diablo III home page, we’re currently exploring a Diablo-related concept for consoles. As we’ve said in the past, with proper care the gameplay could suit the console platform, and we’re interested in seeing what talent out there might be interested in contributing to such a project.

To further reiterate what’s posted on the home page: this is not an announcement of a console title. We are first and foremost developing Diablo III for Windows and Mac PCs, and we have no intention of allowing a console interpretation to delay or otherwise affect the release of the game. As always feel free to discuss this topic here, but please note that we don’t have any further details to share at this time.

If you or someone you know would be interested in joining the Diablo team, then head over to the job posts to check out the requirements and submit an application.

P8Z68-V is just fine, no need to spend $160 more unless you plan on going Tri-SLI.

As for overclocking, it's pretty easy once you get the concept down. Plus the new mouse driven UEFI is 100x better than what we had in the past.

Didn't they (Blizzard) say that the game could be released right now (as in the game is "finished")? The main reason it's not is because they weren't happy with a few of the core systems (Runestones) and wanted to try some different iterations.

Based on that, I think that a Q1 release is still very plausible. I'm going with my original estimate of: Announcement on Feb. 28 for a release date of March 27.

posted a message on Explanation on GRB connecting RMAH with 'gambling'
Thanks for the interpretation of what is going on in Korea. It's crazy that they can get away with this (though I suppose that can be said of any governmental body).

I really hope Blizzard isn't stuck on a global release and that Korea is delaying the game, because it seems like these GRB people are finding every excuse to keep this game from hitting shelves.

Are they waiting for Blizzard to join them under the table or is there some other reason they haven't just stamped the 'M' on it and moved on?

posted a message on Did the 15th Anniversary Video Refuel Anyone's Excitement for Diablo 3?
No not really. Sure it was kinda neat, but nothing that was over-the-top cool. It kept me interested for the evening at least.

I'm still annoyed the game hasn't been released, beta is a tease, Korea is causing the game to be delayed, <insert other conspiracies here>.

Of course, nothing Blizzard has done (or probably will do) will change the fact that I've already preoreded the Collector's Edition and will be picking it up the day the game releases. How sad is that... >_<

posted a message on Hint at a possibility to a fourth Diablo
    Quote from Frank2312

Just went through the "little fun" for the 15-year aniversary of Diablo and stumbled on this line at the bottom of the article :

    Quote from "Blizzard" »
The Diablo III beta is underway and we’re counting the days until the latest chapter in this storied franchise is ready to be unleashed upon the world.

Personally, I would love to have a fourth installment of the game, but I definitely don't want the story to feel to farfetched, which I am scared of with long series of video games. Just look at Assassin's Creed. The first one just didn't have much story; the second one was much better; Brotherhood was good too; but Revelations was a bit too much for Ezio.

If they ever do a fourth Diablo installment, I hope Blizzard is better at making stories than Ubisoft.

Now I ask you, the DiabloFans community : Would you like a fourth Diablo? Why or why not?
As much as I would like a 4th Diablo game, the 3rd one hasn't even been released yet. Isn't it a little early to be thinking about the next installment?

    Quote from incy1987

i wouldn't mind them going for a 4th but i'm 25 years old and i don't think it will see daylight before i'm retired or dead.
Phew, I'm only 22. I might make it to the beta.
