I must disagree , I think people would still be upset no matter how much advanced notice they got. It's not a whole lot of content (to be expected in a beta of a linear game such as Diablo 3) and not a whole lot of people are getting to play (a whole 'nother matter in itself) which is bound to get people a tad bit miffed. What I don't get is how Blizzard didn't see this coming. If they did see it coming, why would they go and do everything the way they have?

Well-typed post; this follows my sentiment exactly. I'll just add a few of my thoughts to the "pot".

We are like a pack of rabid animals pacing outside Blizzards house, looking for the smallest scrap of info we can find. Blizzard was trying to ration it out to keep us from going crazy (or worse, becoming disinterested). Blizzard started to get nervous (maybe they knew for a while the game was going to be "pushed back" to 2012) and realized they were running out of content to give us (without spoiling too much of the game); so they threw out a "large" chunk hoping it would keep us occupied. Of course we took it all in even faster than expected. They were probably hoping it would hold out until Blizzcon when (hopefully :P) they will release another nice chunk to keep us occupied until release.

Too much on the metaphors? Probably, but I enjoyed typing it so, meh.

As an aside...I'm totally ignorant on this sort of thing; if they are testing servers and the like, as has been claimed, what's the harm in increasing the number of people playing the beta a few magnitudes? I fail to see what benefits of having such a small number of testers is.



EDIT: To answer the question of the OP, yes. I think Blizzard is getting it wrong with the D3 beta. They should increase the number of players (substantially, in my opinion...and yes so I have a better chance of getting it :P) or put in more content for the few that are playing.

I like it, nice work. Though I agree with NeoPhythe, kinda odd having the last page first (especially in a strip that is progressive). Luckily I knew ahead of time so I quickly hit "first" before reading anything. Perhaps link to the 1st page instead? Like So...

That's IF it doesn't get pushed back again. Because, lets be honest, that's totally possible (especially with Blizzard we're talking about here). My brother keeps insisting June/July release and I'm going with March. Loser has to buy the other their copy of Diablo 3

I think that a spear/shield type class would be cool. What blitzer posted sounds like a great idea. Maybe a little homage to the Amazon (and give it some 2h possibility so as not to be "stuck" with just a shield).

Somehow, I don't see that happening. Though that may be due to the fact that it was already pushed back (which, honestly, I wasn't really surprised about). Blizzcon was a month away when they announced that Diablo 3 had been pushed back to Q1 2012. If they didn't have a release date a month ago, I can't see it being announced at Blizzcon. Then again, maybe it WILL be announced and I will be pleasantly surpirsed.

But really, as Malminos said, you're better off here anyway. You were probably banned because the post had no value to the forums (kinda like this one, lol ). Those type of "joke threads" are typically better off in the "Off-Topic" section, even if it had a basis in Diablo 3.

I think I know what you mean, but I kinda disagree. I enjoy reading what the press has to say. I find it quite amusing to see how little they know about Diablo 3 (or Diablo in general) and it's nice to get a perspective on the game that isn't "tainted" by fanboy'ism.
