A game about heaven and hell... and we can't talk about the things relating to heaven and hell. Makes sense.

For example, Science says we are an evolution of monkeys (apes, chimps...whatever) then why is there still monkeys?

Hahahahahahaha... that's like saying... if African Americans descended from Africa, why is there still Africans? Next question please.

How do you explain people who recover from terminal illness where even doctors and scientists can only quote miracles? There is not enough time or space to continue with examples as there are things happening around us every day that science can not explain

What we don't understand =/= It's god's doing. We used to think the weather was an act of god; now thanks to modern technology we understand it for what it truly is... heck we can even predict it.

what proof can you provide that "God" doesn't exist? I guarantee that more people can provide proof of his existence than people who can prove the opposite

You can't prove god's existence or non-existence; we can only accept what is likely to be the truth. As we know from fossil records, simple organisms evolve into more complex ones over time; the earliest forms of life consisted of single cells. In summary, evidence suggests that complex organisms come later. The concept of god suggests that a super powerful all knowing complex organism came first... this goes against the evidence we have uncovered and why many people reject this concept.

EDIT: As an analogy, let's say someone murdered Dave's parents. The police found the murder weapon at John's house along with some DNA evidence linking him to the crime scene. Now, you can't truly prove that John killed Dave's parents... but there's a lot of evidence to suggest that he did. Any logical person would be fairly convinced that John killed your parents... but Dave decides to believe that Jack killed his parents because a 2000 year old book said so.

I would rather live my life as if there is a God and die to find out there isn't, than live my life as if there isn't and die to find out there is.

    Classic pascal's wager.

    1) If there is no god/afterlife, then you would never know upon death; you would've lived your life believing a lie. All your time spent in prayer/at church/in worship would've been a waste.

    2) A true deity would know if you chose to believe only because it was advantageous to do so; this is not true faith and you would probably be punished accordingly.

So because I believe in God I'm not bright or I'm a complete fool?

Yes. It's not so much that you believe in god, but you willingly choose to ignore evidence that makes the existence of god very very unlikely. Now, it's not to say god cannot exist... but it's highly unlikely hence why you should accept disbelief until proven otherwise.

As another analogy, a dim-witted person may say "I believe I'm going to win the lottery" when buying themselves a lottery ticket. The chances of you winning the lottery are so miniscule that the belief of you actually winning is unfounded and foolish.

    Quote from Nuvian

Just because none here has gotten an invite doesn't mean it has not gone out, the chance of anyone here getting a first wave beta invite is very small.

    1) This forum isn't mine, or anyone else's only source. Be logical.

    2) You clearly haven't paid attention to past blizzard betas. When SC2 beta started, there were pages upon pages of people waving their golden ticket. When opt-in invites go out, you'll know about it.

There seems to be some internal blizzard communication problem. The community site and facebook always seems to update too early (remember "community site levels up" incident?). We'll probably see invites within the next 24-48 hours I think.

Try dueling on hardcore, and consistently winning, MEANWHILE maintaining your high lvl and xping on a regular basis... that'll wet your taste buds.

I did, but everyone just town hugs or sits by their tp. The second they even might take damage they run in, tp, or just leave; it's absolutely pointless.

I refuse to listen to people saying that HC is the only way to play Diablo, it's the only true Diablo that sorts boys from men etc. - that's a pile of bullshit really.

Agreed. I remember the funnest times I had in Diablo was joining random pk games with my buddies and trying to 2v6 or 3v5 the rest of the guys in there. We'd literally pk for hours on end, and in the beginning, most of that was getting our asses handed to us. Anytime we hung out we would be thinking of new class combinations, discussing which items were better, etc. etc. It really got us motivated to MF/trade hard for the gear that we needed to dominate in PvP and soon we were just ripping apart pub pk games.

I honestly feel bad for the 'HC purists' that never had a taste for what the rest of the game had to offer. Killing hell baal without dying really isn't much of a challenge.

Hardcore was not all about Cookie Cutter builds, it was about having that extra stress in gameplay making it gripping to play, even more so when you played experimental build making it even greater to have victory.

Yea uh huh. Tell me how many pure Bone Necros you saw, or how many melee sorcs, or charged strike amazons. At least for me, there was nothing gripping to the game play. You die, you lose your levels but your buddy would salvage all your gear and you can easily remake your character in a few hours.

Like others mentioned once you seriously played Hardcore it was impossible to go back to softcore it felt so pointless

I couldn't wait to go back to SC. HC felt so pointless; what else is there to do when you can kill Hell Baal? You can't go PvP; you can't go farm keys for Pandemonium event; you can't do anything that you haven't already done a million times in SC.

You just contradicted yourself talking about only "3 things" would kill you on HC between your 2nd and 3rd paragraph. And what about the fact that HC requires a somewhat flawless playstyle... I take it you don't duel much, or did, when you played hc for about 20 minutes that it took to hit 94 on xpac lol

Only an idiot would try HC Nil; I assumed the readers here were not idiots. What you don't do can't kill you (I realize the double negative but I felt it was necessary here). The rest of your paragraph doesn't even make sense.

HC D2 is boring as shit. It was fun to begin with due to the fact it was a change from SC, but after a while you realize HC is just SC but with less choices.

You have to play a PvM build with a high focus on survivability; that means ES build for every sorc, summons for every necro, etc. etc. You can't really fool around with other builds because it's too risky; you can't even go kill Hell Nihlathak because the risk is absolutely retarded. You're also completely missing the PvP aspect of the game.

Probably my biggest gripe about HC is how the HC-elitists feel superior to SC players. The game's not that hard. There are only 3 things that will really kill you in HC: 1) On death abilities like fire enchanted ancients/stygian dolls 2) Burning Souls and 3)Iron Maiden from Oblivion Knights if you're melee (but blizzard removed iron maiden from oblivion knights so now there's only 2 things that will really kill you).

EDIT: I also felt less attached to my characters because death is inevitable; eventually you're gonna lose that character to some fire enchanted mob/burning souls + bad lag spike. However, as long as your buddy collects the gear from your body, then all you've really lost are levels... and we all know you can easily hit 80+ in a day of Diablo if you really wanted to remake that character back.

Now, if HC D3 is some how different and not just a stripped down version of SC D3 (eg. HC D3 has added content, HC specific gear, etc. etc.) then I'll be excited but at the moment it doesn't seem that way.

NOTE: This is from an experienced hardcore player that had a 94 wind druid/89 blizz sorc.

    1) PvP builds couldn't be further from my mind because, frankly, the gear disparity in Diablo is HUGE. The first people to tackle inferno successfully will have such a gear advantage that they could probably walk you over with teleport + spectral blade. Figure out how to clear inferno before you worry about PvP.

    2) Channeled abilities are even worse in PvP. I would definitely take Frost Nova AND Wave of force AND Teleport for PvP thanks to the ridiculous amounts of get-to's a PvP Barb/Monk could potentially have.

OP, your build is trash. You have zero arcane power generation and you rely on 2 HIGH DRAINING arcane power abilities to debuff (torrent) + then deal damage (disintegrate).

Furthermore, channeled abilities ARE ABSOLUTELY GARBAGE in Diablo compared to fire and forget abilities.
