I have not played the game in a while (actually since the second week of release or so) but am looking forward to picking it up again. My biggest disappointment was the lack of a mode WITHOUT the AH.
I would like to play Hardcore + No AH, has this been implemented by now? Or are there any plans to do so?
I know I can simply not use the AH (I have never used it) but I would like to play with people whom are not using it too.

May 18, 2012Anyone finish this yet? I'm in Act 2 with a lvl 43 WD. I've had lots of near death experiences so I'm taking it real slow. Mainly I am farming for gold and equipment as my gear still has a lot of room for improvement.Posted in: Hardcore Discussion
I've seen some characters die at lvl 40+, don't want to see that happen to me!
..started at launch, no deaths so dar.. let's keep it that way!
May 16, 2012Hi,Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
For a lot of people the achievements are bugged; either resetting or not acquiring at all..
Do you think we will get the ones we earned (but have resetted) in the end?
Like for me, I'm lvling a hardcore character and are quite far in the game on nightmare, don't want to have to redo a lot of risky stuff!
May 13, 2012Hi,Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
I was wondering about the cinematics (not ingame but the pre-rendered ones) in multiplayer. Will they show when you finish an act?
i.e. When you play solo, you finish an act and you'll probably be rewarded with an awesome cinematic - no one is waiting for you and you can enjoy it to the max. However, will these cinematics also show when you finish act 1 (or any act) while you are playing in a group?
How is this going to work?
Again, I'm not talking about the ingame 'cinematics' (like when in beta you rescue Cain), but the actual pre rendered cinematics.
Also, we are still looking for a Barbarian to play hardcore at midnight launch with (normal diffilculty). We are a group consisting of a WD, DH and Monk already, all ready to start playing hardcore at European midnight launch!
May 9, 2012Hi!Posted in: Hardcore Discussion
I had quite a while ago decided that my first playthrough would be softcore. Now as it turns out that normal diffilculty isn't going to be much of a challenge (I believe I read in an interview that Jay could clear it without dieing once?) - I decided that my first playthrough is going to be Hardcore.
All I want is to enjoy the story without interruption for the first playthrough. (so no deaths)
I'm looking for three other people with the same intention:
Level together until we unlock hardcore
Finish the game on normal diffilculty on hardcore mode.
I am going to play a WD and would prefer to have no double classes in the group.
Not going to be using Skype or anything so it'll all be through ingame chat. Your level of english should be sufficient for easy communication.
Goal: finish normal harcore on the very first long playthrough at midnight.
I am in the GMT+2 timezone so you should be in this timezone too.
First three people to reply with the class they wil be playing (no doubles, so if sompeone before you picked Barbarian you're in bad luck!) are in!
PM me for details.
Apr 30, 2012I do remember for older posts / blues that crafted items with good rolls on item affixes have the potential to be better than say legendary items. Taking this into account, I would *think* that:Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
- There will be a few (very little) 'best' items in the game dropped in sanctuary. There will be no equivalent item to craft. These will hardly ever drop and will be very rare. Even with maxed out MF you have very little chance of finding these (finding these within the first few weeks).
- There will be awesome (2nd best) items that drop in sanctuary, these will drop more often and the only thing influencing how much they are worth or how good they are, are the rolled item affixes. These can be reproduced with crafting and you'll have a chance for better affixes. You would need to craft a particular item loads of times until you craft one with *perfect* affixes.
Assuming I am more or less correct on the above two statements it would seem that gold find will be a more stable and controlled way of getting great items, although not the 'best' items.
NB. gold always drops. Crafting is always possible. The best items dropped in game are not that predictable.
EDIT: regarding crafting patterns. I am assuming there is a fixed amount of these and these will be a bit more common than very rare items?
I am thinking that when starting the game, MF might be a better option - to get as many patterns, items to use in Inferno, items for second characters etc. Once you've got these covered I would switch to GF. Most likely everyone will have a GF, MF and +EXP set depending on what one needs at any given moment?
Apr 30, 2012I was wondering; which items will be 'better'. The high tier items you can craft or items dropped in sanctuary? If you take the RMAH into account, which will be better to use; magic find or gold find?Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
Do items dropped in sanctuary have more affixes than crafted items? (assuming the weapon level is equal). It's just that gold you'll be needing throughout the entire game and you can sell on the RMAH and use it to craft weapons / armor. Magic Find you can not sell and you never know what you'll get and when you'll get it. You can't decide 'I want a weapon to drop, or a helmet, or a shield etc.' - maybe for some reason the demand for particular items will be higher than for other - with crafting you control which items you are crafting.
So in a nutshell; assuming one wants to make the most out of the RMAH, should you invest in MF or GF? (and at the same time making sure you can deal enough DPS of course).

What does a witch doctor do best? SUMMON STUFF!
What do summoned stuff do best? ACT AS A MEAT SHIELD
What will my character do throughout the game? DANCE, DANCE, DANCE!
Jan 30, 2012I think prices on the RMAH are not going to be very high, there will be LOTS of supply and yes occasionally there will be a really rare item that goes for a bit more but overall the low prices (as in cents) are not going to make anyone revolt against changes Blizzard might make. So yeh, Blizzard can balance, patch whatever without too much to worry about in my opinion.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
One thing I do wonder now that we are talking about this is how Blizzard is going to 'empty' the Diablo 3 economy. Imagine how many items are going to be for sale 1 year after release, item x, y and z will be listed like hundreds of times making them worthless.
i.e. will there be 'rules' stating 'this item sucks or is worthless and can therefore not be listed on the RMAH'?
Jan 26, 2012Hey everyone,Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
If I had the choice I would have started Diablo 3 on Hardcore mode, like many of you. My character for this playthrough would be the Witch Doctor. As it is now confirmed that you have to finish a 'normal' playthrough first before you get to play Hardcore, I wonder how this effects your decision on which character to play.
- Am I going to roll a WD on my normal playthrough, then reroll a WD for Hardcore mode?
- Roll a non WD character on my normal playthrough and 'save' the good old WD for my Hardcore playthrough?
I am probably going to roll WD twice, get a feel for the skills and rune effects on normal and then enter Hardcore a bit more prepared.
Please state which character you will play on your first playthrough and which character you will roll for Hardcore :).
