I'd be willing to except, well maybe not, some changes to Archon specifically, but then:
Why in the hell are they buffing it in multiplayer?
Multiplayer buff not a substitute for singleplayer...or is it in their eyes?
Why go through the adjustment?
Knowing (God I hope they know) buffing mob density, is a natural buff to all Mob Killing // On Damage // On Crit builds?
Are they really failing to see how "Uncomfortably" tight all the systems are in this game and just winging it?
Why don't they just wait till they get the damn patch out...
Wait till they get itemization patch out...
After that, actually strive to make each class unique rather than carbon copies of each other with only a few ability differences (which most aren't used anyway).
...and maybe then, do some adjustment, but hey maybe that's what they mean...
Just getting tired of the constant double speak and now over correcting for the under correcting post release. This is not an MMO that does not need this level of adjustment. Every class can do inferno, its the player that chooses what level MP to do, their play style, and their build (how ever pigeon holed you may think) ultimately it's the player's choice.
Just feel the game just needs this patch and itemization patch and it'll be fine till expansion. This constant Flavor of the month thing there bordering on got old real quick in WoW, let them not do it here please.
Fix what needs to be fixed, but leave the rest alone! Buff the other classes, don't tare down others, it's a no win at that point.
Simple damage increases, even very large ones, is like a thick layer of frosting on a cake with a crack in it, you can't see the crack underneath the frosting, but doesn't mean it's not there.
Sorry for rant, usually not this way, just annoyed at the buff to Archon, with people going to cry fowl more when top tire people figure out the two new Regen buffs for Familiar and Galavizing Ward (slightly less power, but over 1200 native regen).
I guess in summary take things in moderation is what I'm getting at, idk, just annoyed. -

There is no "combat" system in Diablo. There was some issue that came up during beta (can't remember what it was) but Bashiok posted that there is no combat system and in order to add such a system would require them to do a large overhaul of the game.
This is bullshit. They make you take durability while in combat even when you take or deal no damage. They absolutely can tell you are in combat. If for some mind-warping reason they can't (which again is already proven to be possible by the durability wear-and-tear mechanic), they can simply have a hidden debuff that prevents gear swapping for 10 seconds after taking or dealing damage.
They most likely felt (in the beginning) that a full on combat system a-la WOW, was not needed for Diablo 3. They most likely have the wear-and-tear trigger off of weapon landing damage / character taking damage, which is a form of combat state, but not the full on combat system that would be reliable enough (more so in groups!!!) that would prevent swapping.
I really am confused why they never did to begin with, would make a lot of these issues go away quick with a simple hotfix..... -

This is all just because some people are so anal that they do the stupidest things just to get an edge, like swapping gear mid-fight. If you wanna stack MF, do it like normal people, and take the drawbacks that come with it (more MF = less DPS/survivability). Gear-swapping is just people wanting to have their cake and eat it too. There is a pretty decent solution that nobody's mentioned yet (or at least I haven't seen it). Remove the possibility of item swapping during boss fights. I know it doesn't prevent people swapping during fights with elite packs, but it's a start.
I would also like them to bring back charms in some form or another. Just don't make them take up inventory space, that was horrible. Create a dedicated inv space just for them or something.

I tend to be agree more with what you're saying. It's hard fight Blizzard is trying to win here. All there options are horrid fixes, that only add in further time delays or "punishments"
To further your idea, and really the only idea that MF will work as intended (via Blizzards point of view) without Nerfing the crap out of it would be either one of the following two options:
A.) Have the game client check MF% of character (group) on first hit of mob, and last hit of mob. Take value that is lower (non-swapped gear MF% value) use that for actual MF%
B.) Build in an "In-Combat" and "Out-of-Combat" system. Blizzard has stated Diablo 3 does NOT have this, it is an open world. This would be the much trickier option, but would other good things as making it much easier to give us dueling.
These are really the only two options they have, if they don't want to touch MF in anyway, keep it working the same, but stop the swapping out right. -

I'll address what I said since there seems to be a problem.
My colegue Molster quickly pointed this out when I first wrote this up. So I was inclined to put a question mark in the title. I figured that would clear up the intent of the short what was to be a blue quote with a twist.
Since D3 was originally slated for this year, and that Bllizzard is working really hard on getting everything in, and the nature of Blizzard Entertainment, it's not ridiculous for me to theorize the system could be scrapped.
I'd also say that Bashiok's quote wasnt perfectly clear either. What testers was he talking about? I took what I could from the quote and delivered what I think to be a reasonable conclusion.
All that, plus I'm in the middle of finals so I threw this all together very quickly. If the wording isn't perfect it's because I'm busy worrying about Computer Architecture and UNIX networking
The quote is as many have said to be the typical Blizzard cryptic message that we should come to expect. I do think that Jay and the others are still banging their heads together to make it work. I think in the end the only way they will be happy on NOT putting it in the game is if they tried EVERYWAY to put it in the game. Here's a thought on how they could possibly get it in the game, be different, and give a little longevity to the system/game.
A unique way would to make them unique effects to their own, not following the normal runset. Maybe make them "Synergy Runes" where when you place the rune in one of your current Active Abilities, it will randomly gain an effect that works off another one of your Active Abilities. The amount and how strong would vary.

I really hope so too! I just want to keep a good QUALITY archive as you so put it. I don't want to invest that much time finding every D3 video. Only the good ones where the channel's owner keeps up with at the least one video a week (good one) will earn a spot on the site. More on that to come

Purely for me to login and edit. It's NOT that I don't (dismiss the double negative he he) want people to register, but registering is usually for forums and "exclusive" content of one site to another. This DIVIDES the community up. That is against the purpose of this site. I want to add, everything I do I want out there and for all without "Premium accounts" do so many tings and you earn a credit towards a new avatar; no stupid Facebook esque bulls**t.
I had to make a decision to keep it as such because I wanted to display the avatars at full size being 200 x 20o. I get what you mean, and will take a look at it, thanks!

When the time comes (very soon, like next week starting) it's going to be general administration. looking for roughly 10 hours a week, be helpful to have during peek gaming times. There to just enforce policy, and keep Ventrilo a good place for people to come and play. Will keep the site updated for sure. This site has kept me content, even without beta access LOL!

Diablo Expressions purpose is NOT to be the next big authority in the Diablo community. I love Diablofans and all the work they do and other sites have done. Diablo Expressions is going to be a site to enrich the community, and aid other sites in giving unique content and providing available services where it can.
What does Diablo Expressions have for you?
Forum Avatars - I have three sections of Avatars. The first being of the supposed in-game/Battle-net avatars in the game files. The second being custom ones that I will be making from non-portrait based images such as scenery, icons, armor, etc. The last is where the community will submit avatars for me to display (with credit given to creator) for all to see.
NOTE: I have not started the submit section yet, will nail down details over the weekend.
Youtube Video List - I want to build a list of good Youtube channels with select videos on a list. I want to help build the youtube Diablo community by doing this, while making it easier for people to find good quality videos to watch.
Ventrilo Server (200...yes 200 Slot Server) - This is the most ambitious project I will be undertaking. I will be providing this to the community for FREE (unless I get a few donations here or there) for 200 +/- 20 more to make sure I can hold the most people while not over filling the server; dening people trying to log-in, I am taking ever step possible to make sure good people will get on and avoid spammers and harassers.
The purpose, rules, and registration process is on the site for you to get a quick read BUT I am NOT starting the general registration yet. I have to look for six Admins that are willing to work with me, work with the community, and be people I can trust to hold the server up when I'm not around (like my honeymoon next year!)
A lot of the lose end will be tied up as of this weekend. All I ask is remember, for time being this is a one-man show, bare with me on updates he he he : D
Things I am looking for in my Admins:
-Being able to be on roughly 10-15 hours a week helping in Ventrilo basic Admin affairs. Prime time hours recommended!
-Keeping the Ventrilo server a good place for people to communicate and riding the server of bad eggs.
-Holding the server down when I am not available.
-Taking care of situations and contacting me (mainly twitter of email) of situations.
-Being honest and handling disputes in a professional manner.

Have to break it down and view it from different sides of the blizzard gaming community, and look at the money and time frames that have been established.
This deal REALLY does benifet the WOW gamer. Breaking it down:
-Retired WOW will (resub oor not) based of getting the WOW Beta Key (If they have no intention of playing D3) This strings them along monitary & content wise to WOW:MoP

-Current WOW will go on the pass and get the WOW Beta Key (If they have no intention of playing D3) This strings them along monitary & content wise to WOW:MoP
-Current WOW will go on the pass and (If they have intention of playing D3) This strings them along monitary & content wise till D3 Release. Gives them WOW:MoP beta access, and may get them to buy it too).
Looking at the time frame, we could say that Blizz is no more than a year away from releasing WOW:MoP. Would make some sense with it being an annual pass buy and that they really can't (shouldn't) take that long to get it out, otherwise they risk lossing more subs.
This deal, looking at it in a Zero-sum sense doesn't really go well for the Diablo player only, or Diablo player that never played WoW, but looking at the deal.
At the monthly rate $15, that's $180 for one year.
If D3 comes out late March (end Q1) that's 5 months = $75
Game (standard) cost = $60
This leaves a $45 Short fall (180-75 (5 month sub till release) - 60 (diablo 3 game cost)) for the player because they wont be playing WoW, wasting that sub money.
Even more so the Diablo player that never bought WoW, that's hundreds you would have to pay between the games and sub.
BUT...The main thing is, these people never played WoW, so it can't be seen as a lost, Blizzard can only gain if either on of the types of players above sub up.
This deal only serves to string along the WoW Sub base monitary and content wise till D3 comes out or WoW:MoP comes out.
Only to potentially GROW the Diablo player base by giving WoW players a different game to play while OR cancelling their WoW sub.
If they do cancel their wow sub, they lose D3 and the key. SO they have to keep the WoW sub going until the year is up if they only want to play D3.
If they try and don't like D3, they'll still pay to keep the key and play something "NEW" while the sub is going.
In the end, Blizzard looked at the cost of development and maintance of D3 and felt satisfied that the annual pass along with the RMAH would be good to keep D3 going alone.
The deal is nearly perfect in keeping money coming in, in one way or another, for any Diablo or WoW player type and is quiet a marketing job.
The deal, again, ONLY serves to INCREASE the D3 player base, which increases the potential RMAH income, which keeps the game a float.
This deal, IS a real win for any current WoW player or any retired WoW player who will play both games for at least a year.
While this deal is not as friendly to the D3 player base, it does serve to make it bigger, and bring in more money to aid development and keep it going for years to come.
TinFoilHat: I almost gaurentee you, that TiTan will have all the income features of wow (pet store, mounts, all the services) along with the RMAH from D3. And in another brillant marketing job, will make WoW F2P, with A LOT more micro transactions involved for the people that stay behind and don't move on to Titan which will be a smaller onthly fee, but mainy micro transactions involved.

From Lore Panel:
-Azmodan is launching the invasion from Arreat Creater (was answered in Q&A). Place where Worldstone disappeared, where reality is weakest currently.
-Told that Azmodan has 7 "lieutenants" each one representing each sin. Evidence is the renaming/bringing back of "Mistress of Pain" to "Maiden of Lust".
-The Maiden of Lust was the one of two we would run into, the other wasn't mentioned.
-Belial is in the city of Caldeum screwing around with it; as foward step in weakening it so Azmodan has an easier time with the invasion or something else we don't know yet.
OKAY, here I go stringing things together:
-With the invasion on the way, starting from Arreat Creater, we only see 6 Thrones. It could be that there are seven and we don't see all, OR the fact when the base was created there, the unknown 7th "lieutenant" went rouge and is trying to stop Azmodan, Help Summon/release Diablo, or something else completely.
-Beliel is speculated to be the ACT II bose, with Azmodan being ACT III bose, leading to Diablo being ACT IV bose.
That's it as far as this thread is consernd, BUT one thing was said in the lore panel that was simple but very profound, which is:
"With the death of Azmodan, there will be NO more Lords of Hell..."
All the Prime and lessers will be gone one way or another, so a great power vacuum will be left by the end of the game (if we can assume we just kill off all prime/lesser evils). What will happen? The way the Diablo Universe came to be is the great, ever struggle between Good and Evil, with Sanctuary only further complicating the manner, but there has always been a balance maintained. I really can't see heaven running in and taking advantage and destroying all of hell. That would leave a pretty weird set of circumstances after the fact. Whats the point of the angels now? Whats the point of heaven? Will a new evil, by necessary, be created in heaven to become the new "hell" to prevent the all of existence from collapsing?
It was answered that something from heaven, and inevitable from hell, could not become the other. Was stated in the Lore panel Q&A, so I don't think a pure take over of hell will happen. Something else will come to take its place.

Thinking into the future, in a sort of bringing the universe full circle in a way, I think somehow Lilith will reemerge to over take the armies of hell, and kill any who oppose her. Also to use the destruction of the worldstone to try once again to form a Nephalem army along with a demon army to wipe out Heaven and reign over all of creation herself alone.
