dont like the smaller avatars :(

I do. Hopefully next up are obnoxiously large signatures (no offense lol)

Site looks good, though I'm not sure if the color scheme works quite as well as mmo-champs does (since the layouts are very similar).

posted a message on New U.S. Act Against Piracy, Government Power to Shut Down Websites
    Quote from GhostLoad

    Quote from Sabvre

I'm honestly in support of blocking piracy/torrent sites.

I cannot think of a legitimate reason not to except people who want to download from it. Piracy is NOT free speech, and if a website doesn't want to be blocked then it should simply prevent contributing to piracy.

You know that whole thing about it being illegal but not morally wrong to steal a loaf of bread to keep from starving to death, yadda yadda? With the recession we're in and the ridiculously high unemployment rates, is it so illegitimate and immortal to pirate content instead of just doing without? I know myself & many friends have pirated a CD of a band we never had heard of, it got us really into their stuff, and then we bought tickets to see them in concert. No pirating that CD = no ticket sold to us, because why would we have been interested in the first place?

    -------------------

Anyways, the bigger deal here in general is the bill is NOT 100% intended to control piracy, it's to control the use of the internet under the guise of stopping copyright infringement.

Edit: If you DON'T want this ridiculous bill passed, go to https://wwws.whitehouse.gov/petitions#!/petition/amend-constitution-making-internet-unalienable-right/YJ3fXQcm (whitehouse.gov website) and sign the petition to take it out before it's put in place!

Your analogy, and comparisons are both terrible. You should be ashamed of yourself for even attempting to defend stealing software and comparing it to morals, and then trying to spin it off as something positive for the creators. You *need* to eat, you don't *need* to play games/watch videos/listen to music/surf the internet. Hurp.

While I'm completely against the regulation of information, your post is just ridiculous.

People will just migrate and host their sites in other countries that aren't stupid. We'll also see a surge in paid, reliable proxies. It's not the end of the world, it's just an inconvenience because America feels obligated to control the world.

    Bad try at bragging.

    1. Pictures like that shouldn't be posted on the internet. (instant 4chan)
    2. Big arms & big wrists = not my thing.

Its not about bragging, its about the t-shirt on a girl.

Lol, keep telling yourself that. I don't know a single self respecting female that would want her bf/fiance/husband posting her picture on a public forum and say "HEY GUYS CHECK OUT MY GF LOL".

It's great that she likes Diablo, but something tells me she probably wouldn't enjoy the fact that you're showing her off to a bunch of random people in an attempt to fish for comments. And if she does like that sort of thing, refer to my self respect comment above.

posted a message on Prove to me that your God exists.
Well this is a recipe for disaster.

Look at it this way. Religion is about faith. There's absolutely nothing a religious person could ever say, or do, that would convince someone that has deemed themselves an atheist or agnostic otherwise. Agnostic and atheists have chosen their belief, as have religious people. It's akin to a Christian convincing a Muslim. Your faith is your faith, and if you truly believe that, there's no room for convincing because you won't be convinced. Just because Atheism/Agnostic isn't a "religion" won't change the outcome.

Hence why I say this is a recipe for disaster. While I'm not going to claim that your intent is trolling, it's really all that will come out of it. If not, you're going to incite pointless arguments that have no resolve.

And for the record, I am not at all religious, but I also don't label myself as anything. Personally, I don't believe a "god" exists as we have personified as a race, but I believe there is something out there far beyond our comprehension whether it's a civilization, or just an energy or form of matter that we can't fathom. I'm a very firm follower of Science, but at the same time I know our knowledge is limited. Personally, I think relying on one set of beliefs without having an open mind to the possibility of something beyond our comprehension is the epitome of ignorance. In other words, to me, there's little difference between a Christian and an Atheist when you boil it right down.

posted a message on Interview with Athene
    Quote from MonkManD3

I have to admit, I haven't heard of Athene before a couple of weeks ago. After reading the comments my fellow Dfans made about him, I though to myself: He can't be THAT bad. So I watched his "Comparison between D2 & D3" video until he said the Barbarian uses "Rage", and I thought to myself: Geeze this guy is the fuckin worse. I can't comprehend why so many people like this guy...Perhaps I should watch some more of his vids, can't possibly get any worse...

    Athenes popularity in a nutshell:

He initially garnered attention by acting like an arrogant prick in regards to "pwning noobs with his leet Paladin".

His attention was then perpetuated by objectifying this "Mia" girl, because while she was mediocre looking, had a fairly decent rack. Ironically enough, Mia is more popular than he is now.

He then came back into the spotlight for abusing instance mechanics in order to glorify himself as "world first 85" or whatever level he did it at. Quickly shut down by Blizzard.

After he inevitably faded into obscurity he then attempted to revive his desire for attention by acting intelligent with a pet project "for science" which inevitably fell flat on his face. (probably because well, who can take the guy seriously anymore?). His "Theory of Everything" isn't anything groundbreaking or innovative. All he did was compile a bunch of established information, and passed it off as his own. I laugh, hysterically at the people that actually bought into that massive troll. It just goes to show how unintelligent and gullible people really are.

Why people still give this guy attention, is far beyond me. Then again, people seem to love getting trolled, because that's all he is. Something to be proud of, at any rate.

    Quote from LinkX
Indeed. At least the "youth" is trying to do something. The older generations just sit back and watch how things turn out.

As the old saying goes, "Lead, follow, or get out of the way."

I have to ask a question... what makes you think "the people/youth" would do it any differently? What makes you think that "the people/youth" aren't equally corrupt, or would become equally corrupt? It's easy to sit on the outside and dictate how it should be done or act like you're morally superior. People underestimate the power of human emotion, and emotion will always trump common sense. Would it be okay to skim the bottom line to feed your family? Where you do draw the line? Buying a boat? An island? Would that not be facilitating your families quality of life, while appeasing your need for being loved and acknowledged by those people for how you're providing for them?

I sort of went way off on a tangent there, but the fact is, human beings are inherently corrupt and selfish. It's a wonder of free will. It doesn't matter who has the title of leader, or the affiliation of that person, corruption is inevitable. We can live in a vacuum and claim it shouldn't be that way, but that doesn't change reality. I mean look at Anonymous. They put this facade that their interests are protecting the people... while at the same time, they have no problems leaking innocent civilians personal information and putting millions of peoples livelihoods and quality of life in danger, just to "stick it to the man". All for what? Because they can? Because they're "white hats" and it's justified? Please, Anonymous are selfish, corrupt pigs seeking acknowledgement just like the suits in Wall Street. They're equally intrusive towards people that don't deserve it, just like the government. In my opinion, the end never justifies the means when the means is built upon hypocrisy.

I'm not taking a side here and I'm not saying the supporters are wrong, stupid, etc. While I think anarchy would be a horrible thing, the government should ease back and I can't deny that. My point is mostly surrounding the fact that Anonymous need to figure out a better way to get their voices across and to stop expecting that they (or those they support) would be immune to the corruption. They have a very good point, but the way they've been typically going about expressing it, is extremely childish and unproductive. Have a peaceful protest in NY, great I'll even applaud you for it... but stop being intrusive to people that just like you, don't deserve it.

For the record, this is directed at nobody in this thread. I just wanted to voice my opinion about Anonymous in general. I personally think their protests in NY are a good start, but history doesn't forget.

Athene is a troll, and he's very proud of it. There's no doubt he made this video to be factually incorrect since his "for science" crap was a flop, and nobody pays attention to him anymore. If you ignore him some more, he'll go away for good and we can all rejoice with beer.

posted a message on Legendary Loot Notifications?
I feel having a loot display (outside voluntarily linking the item) sort of defeats the purpose of having personalized loot, let alone the RMAH. You know people are just going to whine about how you're being selfish because you want to sell it, rather than give it to them because "it's an upgrade for my alt". This can also lead to people blacklisting you, because you upset them.

If I get an item, I shouldn't be berated or influenced into making a choice whether to keep it or trade it. Personally, I think not showing the loot prevents a lot of unneeded drama and whining.
