I remember before the game was released, Blizzard said the PVP patch would be released shortly after the game release.
I guess missing the 'TM' didn't help, and not many people care about to comment any more.
Hype moves on, to other games.

And im disappointed to myself, to think people would understand that THIS KIND OF CR@P were expected...its not just a "hey everyone come try the game", but more of a 'come HELP us TEST the servers so we can be SURE it wont happen on launch day'...
Im thankful these bugs/errors/problems in general are happening NOW and not in may 15.
Disappointed to Blizzard ? no, im pleased they are testing before.
Things will go unexpected most of time, even with companies like NASA and Intel backing you up. I am guessing Blizzard making head counts and setting up the bar for queues on launch day. So that people can be put into queues rather than keep getting errors. The other aspect is the login server which usually handles more critical data than game server on launch day is gonna be bunked up with more hardware. Blizzard could be trying to estimate the cost of these hardwares right now, which could be part of the goal of this beta from the financial view. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

Reckon OP could easily counter with "Why do you care if people care others use forums to trade?" "How does it affect you?".
Agree the trading will bring more fun to the game and I hope all decent players use forums and trade channels more rather than posting on the auction house. It makes the game much more fun and make the item heaps more rewarding when you trade for weeks and finally find the epic stats from a Amulet than spending 10 secs on filter and click buyout.

Very true, and even with good enough gear some elites are impossible to fight unless you grind them down. For example, elites with immune minons and Arcane, Frozen, Jail.
Just want to give a real example, My barb have 24000 DPS, 840 AR, 10300 Armor (with war cry and passive skills + enchantress buff etc), as some people might consider over geared for Act 2.
If my friend joins my game when I was engaged in Act 3 with champion / elite which hits hard, I often die within 2-3 secs.
It would be better to solo if you both have monk and if possible sheild up with enchantress as follower. The 15% armor buff persist regardless, even she dies....

It is could be hard to believe, but we have to realize that there are significant impact of life for a group of people who value games more than a lot of things even their health.
Some extreme number of these people often find themselves reluctant to stop playing games for more than a week without suffering from the “withdraw”.
I do agree with you mostly. Hell, I have been playing 100hours now, and at less than $1 per hour, I say it worth every cent of my money. Since you bring up this topic, I hope you understand that there are lots of people living on this planet who share a different thought. They might go extreme when it comes to things like games, not to mention this is an AAA title which they had waited for so long.
The state of mind for games is drifting from fun for "me" to play -> must be good for "me" to play. I find it is hard to change that now, a lot of people have grown into an extreme path when it comes to games that they might not even realise.

After WOW, they released SC2, which is almost a clone as SC1 in many, many aspects beside the graphic improvement. Now comes Diablo 3. It is hard to comment much compared to Diablo 2, it does not bring up too much innovation. To be fair, the skill runes are great now we have so many spells to play with, the mob special abilities are good. But beside all these, the game doesn't make any ground breaking aspects which suprises me like what Diablo 2 / BW did over 10 years ago.
I guess we'll have to support Blizzard and wait for them to release another gerne of games in the coming years....

A lot of the designs are Inherited from the MMO genre "WOW".
1) Gear check. Hint Inferno Act 1 / Act 2
- Without stats / skill allocation like in D2, now we have to have the proper gear to progress.
*In game example: D2, you could kill Mephisto on Hell, with an undergeared Sorceress, maxed Firewall and maxed Teleport / Warmth with a bit more stats into Mana and rest into Vit.
*In game example: D3, you can never kill a risen dead without spending 10 mins spaming your "Arcane Missle" on your "powerful" lv 60 Wizard holding a 20 dps weapon in inferno Act 1......
2) No offline play
-Well, Blizzard tried hard to convince people they are still playing a single player game....
3) Server down time on Tuesday
-I guess very WOWish
4) Forced cut senses.
- Can escape of course, but it ruins the fun of the battle. For example Act 4 Diablo encounter....
There are more reasons, but those are the ones I could think of for now lol. I wish they could add some patch later after they solve all current issues and bring the game more in line with D2.

I guess the expansion will add these features in or a major patch. Blizzard's priority right now is to patch the 1.02 patch issue,1.03 patch ,pvp arena, and auction house issues. Once their development team can drink their morning coffee without thinking about these, they may have the time and energy for "expanding" these features.

Sorry I thought it would be pretty obvious, but I guess I'm wrong.
It seems that you may not use auction house a lot(which is a good thing). If you filter "Armor" - > "Wrist" , the sub filters are updated, and there is no "movement speed" for example in there for example compared to If you filter "Armor" - > "Boots".
Thanks for your suggestion about the Legendary unique affixes, and I'm updating it right now.

Interesting, so the number of people contacting customer service is extremely small, and yet my friend has been waiting for 2 and half days now not to mention over 30mins holding on the phone.....

Well I guess there is a slight logical problem here, not sure you can see it. Anyways I think you understand the answer to your question.

I feel the same, leaving black smithing to lv4 and not planning to revist anytime soon. We probably needs to force ourselves not over use AH. It's easier said than done, I can't resist to log out of the game and check AH every hour or so.

True, time will fix everything. I remember my 1-hander mace in D2 beating everything else, it had war cry affixes and every time I duel I put swap to the mace war cry.
I was never against the the affixes value, but to the % they get rolled all together. There are simply too many "Magic" and "Rare" beating the Legendary elites for example "The Grandfather".
It took me months to find something rare like these back in Diablo 2 and that was part of the fun of the game, and my hard efforts were rewarded. Now I just logon, click on "Auction House" - > "Equipment" -> "Search" -> "DPS". and there are heaps of loads of items easily sitting on top of "The Grandfather" . Hell if I spend a bit time searching, I will find a decent one and it's worth next to nothing.
I found when it is too easy to get things I want, I lose interest to the game fast. I am sure many of us were dreaming to get the first "Windforce" server wide before the game release. With the current situation of the items, I found myself never going to get any of these legendary weapons in the auction house unless they are super afforable, let alone farming months for them in the actual game.

Well, it hurts the replay value to me, essentially I was paying to play less. Maybe someone enjoys this, but I wanted to play the game more and getting the loots from the elites rather than this. I know the answer to it, just couldn't resist the charm of the auction house lol.

Thanks for the feedback, weird, I remember my barb was at 1.69 attacks per second duel wielding, with my 88 STR Boj did not do anything to it. I will try later, I might be dreaming....

Thanks for the advise. My personally experience tells me I got more constructive feedbacks here. I found generally people on battle net forums are not in the mood of spending more than 60 seconds to read any post.
If you read my post, I had not problem against the Affixes value, it is the chance they getting rolled all together. You get like 10 pages of blues 2 handers leaving "The Grandfather" in shame on auction house is not what I want to see everyday. Also not to mention the game only released for a week. There will be heaps of more "Rare" "Magic" items beating up the "Legendaries" in a long run, due to the natural of the drop rate.
Yep, and there are heaps of them, and there will be even more this week.

Agree.
Partly true, It is the common Magic / Rare beating the hell out of the Legendaries. If you search on Auction House 2-hander weapon and check those up, you will understand why I reckon something needs to be done....
