From what I can tell, the base critical damage bonus appears to be around +50%. This is just from watching Beta streams; people who do ~10 damage noncrits are hitting for ~15 crits. It could easily be a bit higher or lower than +50%, but +50% is a nice round number.

Without having the Beta, I can't tell exactly how the Traits work. A "+100% critical damage bonus" could mean two things. It could be an additive +100% (making crit bonus +150%, or 2.5x normal damage) or it could be a multiplicative 100% (crit bonus 50% * 200% = +100%, or 2x normal damage). If you remember from old school WoW, the latter scenario was true - a +100% critical damage talent would allow you to crit for 2x damage instead of 1.5x.

If critical damage bonus traits are multiplicative like in WoW, there are still different ways they could multiply. For example, with two separate +100% and +50% bonuses you could get:
    1) %CDB = 50% * 200% * 150% = 150% (Crit for 2.5x normal damage)
    2) %CDB = 50% * (100%+100%+50%) = 125% (Crit for 2.25x normal damage)

While an additive +100% and +50% would get you:
    3) %CDB = 50% + 100% + 50% = 200% (Crit for 3x normal damage)

Can anyone with the Beta verify how critical damage bonuses work in D3?

Was just thinking exactly the same thing, would be interested to know the answer.
