I was in a work car with my mate on our way to Brizvegas to install a new rack, server and ups.
If i wasnt so tired i would have been more enthusiastic.
Got more enthusiastic during the day though, untill my coworkes looked at me funny when i asked if i could have a few days off for the release. For computer techs they werent very understanding of my obsession.....

They should be even more understanding. All of you should have broken out into synchronized dance celebrating!
    What's wrong with this world?

Kids these days, im 30 and grew up with Diablo, they all play battlfield and assassins creed ;(

posted a message on So we are nearing the end, what a Journey it has been!
So Diablo 3 looks closer to release than ever before thanks to the comments by Jay Wilson about the game being in a good state. Other comments from the community managers saying they are tweaking and polishing etc are only making me more excited.

Theres a lot less complaining on the diablo3/community sites too, less posts saying game is ghey and their not gonna play it or they (blizzard) have stuffed things up and the always popular, "the game is taking too long seriously are blizzard competent? it should be out by now their publisher should have pushed it out by now finished or not" Perhaps we are over the mental "Hump"

I myself have enjoyed the ride, It was fun watching the game develope, especially the big changes.
When we got the old "X did not work, we are scrapping it and trying something else" it was a time not to despair but to Rejoice! The developement team CARED about the game and was willing to move on if a game mechanic they had invested in did not work.

To me this shows Blizzard's strength. When a lot of game developement these days is either in small mobile games, or massive sequals mirroring their originals (Seriously 2011 was the year of the shooter clone) it shows that Blizzard are a unique team with distinct goals, seemingly to make a Great game, not merely a good one, and to not get distracted by other issues, such as client driven schedules. They are able to put in the hard work, make difficult decisions and when all else fails, go back to the drawing board instead of pushing through with a less than perfect implementation.

I guess a lot of people saw an auction house coming, I was one of them, I thought it would be inevitable after seeing people get a less than good experience with Diablo 2 from website trading, but when the RMAH was announced i did not know what to think. Would it ruin the game? Would we all be inundated by farmers? Would noobs rule the game with bought gear? (Could i make a living from Diablo?)
It quickly showed by some clever comments from the community and blizzard itself that no - it would not ruin the game, how could it? If you don't want to use it you dont have to, all it will do is add Consistancy, Fairness and Control to a process already used by a lot of people (nearly all of whom were hardcore players, not casuals)

I cant say much about the gameplay, not having played anything yet, but i have watched more hours of beta footage than i care to admit.
    Damn it looks fun.

I have to say thanks to the Community sights (especially Diablofans and Force gaming) for soeting through the best news out there for us noobs without the ablitiy or time to do this ourselves.

So in all what im trying to say, is thank you Blizzard, it was fun watching the progress of the game.
You helped make such a strong community from existing and new members before the game even came out.

I better finish now, Im getting the little butterflies in my stomach akin to standing outside their door and just having been invited in for coffe after a good night out.

Better stop before this becomes a love letter.

Thank you Blizzard, I cant wait for the game!

EDIT: Guys i would LOVE to hear your feelings on the journey so far. Did you enjoy it? Was it frustrating? Did you cry, yell or cheer out loud?

posted a message on More Simplified Tooltips, Spike VGA's, and Blue Posts
Wow - this post was exactly what was running through my head. I dont want to hover my mouse over a skill and see 1/2 page of formulaes and crap, i wanna see something that easily translates to - use a fast weapon, or get more attack power.

Then when i get to inferno and start min/maxing, ill be happy to look up a web page and start running complicated maths (games that require maths, just enjoy it people sheesh)

Besides, add a rune to the skill and the skill is changed completely......

I have the Steelseries baranded version of these speakers, i must say they are pretty good.
They tend to get poor reviews because they are aimed at the treble section of the spectrum so are not good for music (so they say), but this makes them perfect for gaming where you are listening to that voice-over, or the foofootstep or clang of weapon on shield and not the bassy flavour of the latest dubstep collegde band (their so mainstream, i knew them before they were famous...).
