Wow - this post was exactly what was running through my head. I dont want to hover my mouse over a skill and see 1/2 page of formulaes and crap, i wanna see something that easily translates to - use a fast weapon, or get more attack power.
Then when i get to inferno and start min/maxing, ill be happy to look up a web page and start running complicated maths (games that require maths, just enjoy it people sheesh)
Besides, add a rune to the skill and the skill is changed completely......

So they still play an old game with 10yo graphics? and they dont like the new stylised graphics?
We are getting to a point now where it is not about how realistic the graphics are, its about their mood.
The picture camera did not make painting portraits obsolete, neither does BF3 graphics make diablo3 graphics obsolete.
They created a mood, and i think its great. I for one dont want what happened to squaresoft happen to diablo (not hating on squaresoft, they have their style and its cool, just doesnt fit diablo - thats my point)

Maybe its not blizzard we should be worried about, and look at Activision? Ill bet the Diablo 3 guys were EXTATIC when they heard they were making a game for pc, to share with a low-spec motion controlled console with no storage for content/patches etc and they will be playing alongside PC players? Do we miss out on patches now? Or do you get a new CD in the mail every patch? Id laugh if they get 8 bit spell effects?
Wait - instead of wearing out our mouses we can cleave away our elbows? Thousand blows, i have to do each one? Take that Wii-fit!
Edit: The wii thing was funnier than the librarian class last year (or was that the year before)

All i see is a bunch of suits scared their star player's bubble bursting (lol@wow subscriptions declining, hell i dont play wow anymore but i have a season ticket) and their doing everything they can to keep the chedder coming in.
Or maybe i have gone nuts thinking i have to wait another 6 weeks for diablo3?

Nintendo are committed to gaming - this means Nintendo have deep pockets, and are bringing more to the table than Sony or Microsoft.
Nintendo are obviously looking for a big ip to come to the wii. The only ones that have had much success on it are other Nintendo games, and they have all been used up.
I don't really see blizzard staff wanting to do this on the wii, the poor hardware, lack of storage (how they gonna provide updates to a dvdrom based system with no storage capacity?)
And how the frock will diablo work with motion controls? I have worn out the clickers on mice with diablo2, what will waving a wii stick every time I wanna cast magic missile do to my elbows?
This just seems to be a bad decision to me.
Maybe blizzard is rotting from the top, as many good developers do.
I really hope this is not the case, but I defiantly fear it.
Edit: how do you defiantly fear something? Deffinately mind boggling.

Until today, because now I am that crazy person.
Blizzard for kidz eh?
There are two types of programs run for kids by big business.
The first is legitimate, usually run or started by someone high up who has an interest, someone genuinely philanthropic. Often they are great programs and help communities.
Then there is the mckidz type.
The mckidz type are easily distinguishable, they are small versions of what the program is trying to sell.
McDonald's are the most accomplished at this, with toys, advertising and free mcburgers (or micnuggets) donated. Chewing gum that looks like chewing tobacco.
Because little kiss turn into big wallets, don't want em buying burger king when they get older (or playing ea games) when their older.
I guess it's a Part of business these days, make money any way you can, but I really hope this is a way to teach kids how to count or whatever, and not just a way to get kids hooked on blizzard. (I spose kids hav to know how to track their blizzard balance)

Why would you want to PVP on launch? What weapons would you use? What characters? Would you have enough of an understanding of the skills of ALL the classes by then?
The reason they left the pvp out on launch for a later update is that even HARDCORE MEAN NASTY MOFO pvp'ers will be playing the story, learning classes and collecting loots for the first month or so.
Why hold back the launch for a feature that wont be utilised much for several months?
And as for world pvp vs arena, arena is what will keep pvp going, not pvp on pve maps with max 4 players.
Even in wow i did more arena/battlegrounds pvp than in the world map, and that was with a lot more people available, and i did not focus on PVP at all (even though it was a pvp server, only coz my mates were pvp guys)
In the words of the immortal Governator "Stop wining, you lack substance to your arguement!)

Wait a minute.... +24 yards... i have seen screenshots of the game, so assuming the environment and character are in proportion, would the final skill even fit on the screen?
If this skill eats the characters off my keyboard, ill be pretty annoyed. Not to mention the surface of my computer desk.
(Protip- keep some kleenex near your pc, everyone will know that you play a WD on Diablo3)
Edit - So yeah im from Australia, we use meters not yards (damn Yanks and their british "Imperial system")
so i thought the conversion went the other way. Turns out 24 yards is about 21 meters, which is still stretching it a bit (assuming the skill starts with abut 12 yards for a total of 36)

Lets see, aparrently i used to be an Ungamer, because i spent most of my time tweaking my pc, not playing games.
Then i thought i was a "social Gamer" coz i would only play wow if my mates were on (it is NOT a single player game lol, at least for fun)
Now if i spend 2 weeks on diabo 3 with as little breaks as possible i thought i would be a Hardcore gamer.
Whats this power gamer bizzo?
Remember when there was just Rock, and Metal?
Imagine Aggressive Post-Punk new wave Gamers?
If i wear a Ripped denim Jacket can i be a Hair Gamer?

My Sorceress always had her shield on in hell difficulty. Good way to get armour and res up without getting insane gear.
The problem you get in Diablo3 is that weapon damage affects skill damage, so you will last longer, but so will they.
Inferno is gonna be more fun even with randoms than solo so this kinda thing will be popular i guess, as survivability will be better than a "glass cannon" approach.
