Working the AH has been driving me nuts. I thought it might help to compile a list of complaints
Need more search specifications - 3 is not enough when items can have up to 6 affixes
Min/Max stats instead of just min
Being able to sort by time left & armor (can't on legendaries - possible bug?)
Allow users to cancel auctions that do not have any current bids (Blizz stated there is no thought of changing the max # from 10, so why not allow us to cancel auctions that aren't selling?)
ability to reset the specs instead of having to close out the AH window
search options remain when switching between RMAH and GAH.
only show auctions with a buyout or only auctions without a buyout
Let me know if you have any other ideas. My biggest complaint is that when I want an item with str/vit/resist/crit, I have to input 3 of those and mouse-over EVERY item to see if it has the 4th stat that I want. Very frustrating and time consuming.
I had a similar situation in the zone above that one - pack of champions had all of their affixes but they weren't listed under their name. So I just kited them around for a bit until I figured out if they would destroy me or not. Luckily not
peasofme - the only info you have to support your post is anecdotal at best. As I stated above, the posts you see on fansites are an insignificant percentage of the total buyers. This tiny group are "upset" and "quitting in droves". Before you start talking about the majority of owners of the game, you should have some hard data to back it up.
People are throwing around the word "fanboy" yet even people with 200+ posts on these "fanboy" forums dislike D3 and have already or are planning on quitting.
When one of your major fan sites has a high level of discontent, something is very wrong.
D3 got so much right but also got so much wrong... If they would have cloned D2 with newer graphics, upgraded security, and a few other things - D3 would be the rightful heir, but in its current state it's nowhere near D2
Some Notes:
- As someone else noted, there is no sense of ownership of your character. Stat points and rerolling characters allowed for this. It forced you to reroll if you messed up. Sure there were cookie cutter builds - you can't argue against the fact that D3 still has cookie cutter builds... It allowed you to min/max characters.
- Rerolling was FUN and EASY. You messed up a few stat points? Want to maximize your character's potential? Reroll. With rushing, you can be caught up to your friends and back on the level grind in no time. Which, by the way, the level grind was something I actually enjoyed. It gave purpose to playing while simultaneously searching for gear and upgrades.
-Lastly, the game can be straight up frustrating. Playing inferno those first few weeks, I've had 3 friends nerdrage and uninstall. Sure, that's a bit drastic, but the endgame was downright frustrating. Only those that used illegitimate tactics to progress through inferno and find those first few items are now rich with hundreds of millions of gold... sweet QA team there, Blizz. Really glad you guys "dabbled" in inferno to test your endgame content. Further proof that the game was not ready for ship. Don't really know wtf they have been doing all this time. Pretty disappointing in a company that laid off how many employees last year?
I will say. After the patch, this becomes viable for people who don't have 100 million in items.
Decided to give it a shot with a POS 2h, 900 dps. Clearing Act III easily.
stats?
I'd like to know this too.
Also, how are you faring post-patch, SaracenS? I'm thinking about trying this.
Same. I only have 11k dps and really feel gimped using sword/board (although I can tank indefinitely now...). I used a 950dps 2hander last night and had some success, but only up to 15k dps *sigh*
Really thinking I'm going to have to regear my guy since 1.03, which is fine since it's actually enjoyable now...
Anyone else miss Baal & Chaos runs and doing mf mephisto, pindle, andy, etc runs?
I REALLY miss it and grinding to 99 doing it. I'm not too big of a fan of the whole "story" mode that they went with D3. I like being able to jump around from act to act and kill whatever boss I want.
I also kind of enjoyed the grind to 99... gave you something to really work toward and I felt accomplished with each level I earned.
What will they consider to be an exploit? I've seen tons of people getting ponies stuck, repeating quest turn-ins to level, meteor level trick, etc... will they ban for these sort of things?
My guess is they'd have to ban 3/4 of the players if this was the case.

But I've also been on the other end of it... where I have gotten that item in the last 10 seconds and I imagine another person could not.
Win some, lose some.

As a barbarian, I am overwhelmingly looking forward to this patch. It couldn't come soon enough.

I guess time will tell.
