Thank God someone actually understands the difference. Thanks Oldschool.

One little thing to point out, if a business is well organized and run, which I want to believe that ACtivision/Blizzard is, they understand the initial revenue of the game and consequential xpacs have to cover the ongoing cost of development. In other words, they more than likely know in advance how much development time needs to be included in the price of good delivered initially. If that were not the case then these companies would not exist. I promise you there is a contingency of funds available just for the sole purpose of making the game better from money we paid as consumers. I truly believe the best businesses in the world focus on consumerism and not just the internal talent they have.

In Flux's defense these are the same questions that have been asked and not just by him. Seeing him poke Travis for an actual response is a good thing. I get a bit tired of reading the corporate line from fanboys. Good for Flux trying to make edgy comments to try and get some reaction.

Don't you all get tired of NO ONE ever saying anything that has real value? "we feel this is in a good place(insert 6pc sets, barbs, monks, etc)" - how many times have you seen and actually AGREED with that statement? Are we not the customer? Do we not have input beyond "designing a legendary item workshop"? Did everyone forget PVP? Has everyone forgotten the "millions" of builds?

That said, I am grateful for even the smallest scraps of changes that lead to something better because this isn't going to change anytime soon.
Actually, no, you don't have input beyond that. Getting to even do the legendary workshop is actually a plus, because you're a paying customer for THEIR product. This entitlement attitude is just exponentially growing and it blows my mind. If you don't like it, don't buy it. Don't, however, try to claim that you've got some God-given right to decisions made for the product.

And @ Ruksak, I completely agree. I'm honestly embarrassed to be a part of the same gamer base as that guy. I can't believe they couldn't get someone more professional in there.
Again, they have a product because we buy it. Since when has it been okay for businesses to do whatever they deem as right and that consumers have no say/input into what they want? You think that is entitlement, but I think that is consumerism. Entitlement is not the same and perhaps before you label something as such maybe you might want to educate yourself on this first. Why do you think billions of dollar are spent each year by companies to get input and do consumer testing? Sorry, but entitlement is the idea of getting something you want without having to earn it. Like most who care to spend enough time posting in a forum we have spent thousands of hours on their games and pay for them I believe this should at the very least give us a voice but not necessarily the decision in the final product.

posted a message on Diablo 3 Loot Servers - > Easy Legendary Drops?
I do not believe in the IP theory, as I tested this more than a month ago from the BNET forums.

Here is why people think this could be true:

Many years ago, you could find "hot" servers for Diablo clones. They were true and it did work. Currently, when you log into a game, you get what you believe is a hot streak and check your IP. It could or could not fit what the OP is stating. Which by definition is RNG. HOWEVER, if you pay very close attention you should see a bit of a pattern from games that are dropping nicely. You will notice, random rares from white mobs and higher than usual rare ilvl drops. I do not believe these are tied to IPs, but there are definitely some games that drop better in general. There is no real way to know how Blizz codes this, even if you statistically did thousands of runs. My advice would be to restate, kill fast. Its a numbers game. Eventually, regardless of your MF/NV/PL, you will find a legendary or set item.

Regardless of whatever "new MF" scheme that is put into place, MF will still have its place. At about 11.5K elite kills and I want to say I have found a couple of dozen Legendary items at this point. I know it is RNG, but wearing the 350 MF(with stacks) and farming Act2 is not impossible by any means. So, long and short, whatever they change (short of taking MF out of the game) will benefit me and many like me who farm with full MF gear all the time.

The only downside I see to this is, if my elite kills counter would be reset if I find a Legendary BEFORE the 500th kill. HAHA I want my cake and eat it too.

I will be surprised if they make the new Legendary items BoE, but anything is possible.

posted a message on Positive Monster Affix Ideas (From US Diablo III Forums)
I am not one to poo poo on ideas, but some of these (specifically the ones where mechanics would have to be added to the game) will more than likely not see the light of day. Blizard might be seeing your responses and take a look at your base of ideas, which are quite good by the way.

One thing that concerns me, if you are generally new to Inferno this could be slightly problematic. Think about the new person encountering a 5 affix elite. That would be extremely brutal. I would make the possible spawns only in Act 2-4. At that point, at least the character has been exposed to most of what inferno has to offer and gives folks looking for end game activities something to shoot for. That should help some progress through those Acts and others a challenge to overcome that have it all in farm mode.

posted a message on Message from Mike Morhaime to Diablo Players
Well I have trusted Mike and his group for 13 years worth of gaming. So why stop now. I am sure they will make the adjustments that matter. And I am very excited to see them actually buff something on skills.

The legendary issue is overdue at this point. To be honest, they should have known that going into this game given past experiences.

The acknowledgement of the lag issues and the lack of hardware to handle the load is pretty forthcoming. I trust Mike. I believe he will lead the team back to where it needs to be.

So, if I could tell him thank you, I would.

My big problem with losing the NV buff when switching skills is that Blizzard wanted us to find ways not to do corpse runs, but when you come across certain mobs you really do not have a choice but to release/rez and try to keep the mob in combat until dead or enraged.

Do you see what I am saying here? Yes I would like to have a set build. Problem is set builds do not always work unless you feel like paying 40k a pop in repairs. So how do you find a better way I wonder?

Find a set build, and dont die constantly?

I have yet to hit 40k in repairs.
I know that you are trolling with that reply, but I will humor you expand on what I was trying to say.

If I solo farm act 1-2 it is yawnsville and very easy to do. If I run with the same build in Act3 in some places and Act4 in most places either in a group or solo it can be pure BS. Now granted I could get some easier Affixes, get 3-4 buffs or even 5, but against Fast Affix I might as well skip the group as a Wizard unless they are casters. Then I might be able to out manuver them.
Now with those same Fast pacts if I could change my build up for melee survivability, knock back, nova etc all in the same build then yeah I stand a chance, but why would i bother/ I lose the NV buff. So my only other choice is to burn the mobs, die, burn mobs, die, repeat ad nauseum. So, if I feel like I should not have to skip those mobs I have 2 choices:
    1) Run a build that is ultra defensive all the time - which is not my play style
    2) Die more often to play more of a DPS build and still get buffs.

My first point could have been clearer in that I should not have to use a build that I do not want to play in order to play a game.

One last point, If you have done open games with 4 players, then you have gotten extremely lucky to never have high repair bills. Even with close friends from WoW from an end game guild we still have high repairs sometimes.

posted a message on Rare, Legendary, Crafting recipe trolling :(
At almost 300 hours of playing with 2 60's I have found 3 legendaries. I sold one of them for 70k, the other two I cant seem to get a buyer for.
I have managed to find 3 JC recipes and consider myself extremely fortunate to have gotten those.
I have found the Exalted Slag hammer, Exalted Shield recipes so far both 4 prop. I have tried to make maybe 2 dozen of them in total and have had very little luck. That is not including the belt, shoulders, and other crap I have tried to craft without sucess.

Oh, I am wearing, I think, one piece I have found on my own. Everything is off the AH.

What is more amazing to me is that Recipes for crafting items that you already know from the trainer drop! Nevermind the 6 prop patterns, I am sure one of those will drop over the next 4 years....
