Jan 26, 2013ProzaicMuze posted a message on "Ask the Devs" Round 1: Patch 1.0.7, More On "Ask the Devs", Monster Density Being Looked At, ProzaicMuze: Witch Doctor Spirit BYour lack of reading comprehension shown in your reply is astounding. Not to mention you and I have very different mindsets. I believe that everyone deserves respect until their actions warrant otherwise and even then, it is still better to be respectful. Behaving otherwise erodes any foundation you build for your argument as it is doing now. I read your post and see more bitterness than I do in the stereotypical "entitlement" post. You're trying to blame anyone who criticizes a game for "all the things" in the gaming world. How reasonable. . .Posted in: News
Also, I'm not blind to anything. Do you see me making demands? Am I lashing out at Blizzard due to my disappointment? Certainly not! You're basic if A then B logic isn't going to support you here. My point is simply that you're acting no better than those you're complaining about, because that's exactly what you're doing: complaining.
And I love how cliche your closing statement is. I am both criticizing the game AND playing it. Not to mention I even do other things (Like PoE, TL2 and BL2) on the side. IMPOSSIBRU! I must be a Wizard. . .
It's like you've decided that the idea of objective criticism is a lie. -

. . . if you don't think a game is fun, go do something else dipshit. oh noes, they're shitting on the legacy of the game and my cherished memories of a prior sequel. yea, go fuck yourself. again, if you don't like it, try really hard to find meaning in your sad existence elsewhere. . .

. . . This is just how people are today, when something is different than what they like they demand it be made to suit their needs instead of just saying, "this isn't for me", and trying something else. You see it with smartphones, game consoles, etc. Entitled assholes is exactly right.
Because clearly being equally, if not more, disrespectful and immature is the appropriate response? People have been and continue to bring up legitimate concerns in an objectively respectful fashion. The two of you did little more than reveal to me that you're douchebags. Plain and simple.
I can understand how certain situations don't warranted the "entitled" mentality, but when it comes to Diablo 3, this game was sold on a premise that didn't match what was delivered. It's people like you that protect and perpetuate this kind of bait and switch. I'm not satisfied with Diablo 3, I'm disappointed in the released product and I feel cheated of what I saw in the earliest portions of the closed beta (which I was in). To me, this game was never finished and is STILL being "fixed" rather than "improved."
Does that make me entitled? No! In fact, I still play the game, obviously I even make videos of me playing the game (those are my videos) and I make do with what I have. You can't call people entitled for seeing a problem and voicing their concerns. That's childish no better than the behavior you're accusing people of.
Making sweeping generalizations is petty and ignorant. It's not appropriate with race, religion, politics, sports, books, stamp collections or anything else you can think of. Why is it suddenly okay now? -

I've been speaking with Sixen and we haven't formulated a schedule yet. Several of us are still at school/work and have to finish. Once we sit down and talk we'll let you guys know what's up. -

Let me know how it turns out

You've both got a point. It can be slow in certain situations and to some it will be incredibly boring, but I happen to find the standard cookie-cutter builds soul-numbing. Hopefully one of the many other builds I've got planned will pique your interest
This was somewhat intentional as the next couple of Monk builds will feature a shield. I like to avoid having too many commonalities between my builds. In retrospect, I probably should have included it on the list of LTK items and if I end up needing to completely update the guide after the patch I will. I've had several people point out that they had varying levels of success with a shield and it is especially helpful for tanking higher MP levels that normally would be rough.
Glad you enjoyed, though

I'm back with another guide! If you missed my last guide for a Bola Shot Demon Hunter, you can find it here:
This next guide is the first theme build focusing on the Hand of Ytar rune for Lashing Tail Kick. By stacking spirit regeneration and -LTK items you can adopt a pseudo-ranged playstyle. Very relevant if you're interested in the possible changes available from the PTR. I happen to be using the 4-piece Inna's Bonus for mostly free Sweeping Wind, but you can swap this for Wave of Light if you lack the gear. Feedback and/or criticism is welcomed and appreciated as always

I definitely don't count myself amongst the "fanboy" crowd (or whatever they're being labeled) and would love to kick a few of the devs in the junk for some of their decisions, but I still want the game to be fun.

I listened to part of this episode, but a flashplayer crash forced me to reload the video. Unfortunately, I wasn't looking at the timestamp and with YouTube's terrible time scrubber and no visual guides I had no idea where I was and didn't listen to the rest. Doing this would also make it easier to create the summary timestamps people asked for on your previous episode.

Also, just posted the next guide for a Bola Shot Demon Hunter

Merry, happy, wonderful year of new things and maybe presents! I'm back with another guide! If you missed my last guide for a Weapon Throw Barbarian, you can find it here:
This next guide is the surprisingly tanky Bola Shot build. It mitigates the delay of Bola Shot and Spike Trap by emphasizing survivability in the higher MP levels. Vault with Trail of Cinders and Smoke Screen with Choking Gas offer mobility/survivability while providing additional damage and healing with LoH and/or LS.
Feedback and/or criticism is welcomed and appreciated

I actually have another build that focuses on Hammer of the Ancients with a 2H weapon so I didn't mention it in this guide, but I agree it's quite powerful! There are so many cool ways to incorporate other abilities with Weapon Throw, but I try to make every build about focusing on a particular theme or combination. In this case it was No Escape. It prevents all of my builds from running together and becoming an amorphous blob of abilities.

As far as hours, I wasn't talking about total hours. My bad for not being specific. I've played Diablo 3 from day one of the beta (I was let in with press wave) and day one of the TL2 beta (same thing). As such I'm saying that I have seen both games change considerably over that time and Diablo 3 actually got worse while Torchlight 2 only got better. I don't really care about hours played, but I have 680 hours in D3 and 300+ in TL2 if you're interested.

As someone who has likely played both Torchlight 2 and Diablo 3 much longer than you, I completely disagree.
D3 only has its combat going for it (ignoring the parts of it that are terrible like massive hit boxes). PoE and TL2 both trump it in leveling, itemization and end game, with PoE being more customizable and TL2 being more thematic.
