Quote from Ruppgu
Monsters in Act 1 are level 61, in Act 2 - 62 and in Acts 3 and 4 - 63. And each of those have Tier items that ONLY they drop - so a total of 3 Tiers in Inferno
I just saw this.... so.... did they change their mind or was Bash lying to us when he said you could find the best gear in late hell (just low drop chances). This pretty much completely contradicts that saying that monsters before Act 3/4 Inferno can't drop the last tier.
I'm not complaining, I think that the people that can clear the hardest parts of the game should be rewarded but I'm just confused because it's a complete 180 from what Bash said a few weeks ago.
I am more interested in whether they will limit peoples ability to buy these items from the last stages of inferno... Otherwise this will be where the money is... selling act 3/4 inferno items to people who haven't managed to clear it but want to pretend they have...

Arcane missiles... Fires pink crap at mobs... Blows stuff up gud.... Or something like that
And a second one which is shift mouseover that is a more complicated tooltip...
Arcane missiles... Fires a damaging bolt of Arcane energy that does x% weapon damage followed by a dot that ticks at 10 damage/% weapon speed.
That way you make it easy for those who don't want the nitty gritty but also allows for those that do.
And the guy above me just made me look stupid by saying the exact same thing... It wasn't there when i posted... Honest.

This is a very good suggestion but it means less choice about how people play.

Not even sure they would see these unless someone posts it on the main site (which I cannot do). Be nice to see some of these ideas in there at some stage though.

I think I would like it to be when you damage a mob with this affix the spell you damaged it with is put on an x second cooldown. Thus forcing you to change up your skills.
Alternatively you could have it... When a mob with this affix hits you it adds a 10 second cooldown to the next skill that you use... Whatever that may be... Would force people to keep track of what they have been hit by... Clever players could avoid having to much of a detrimental effect by either not getting hit or using a long cooldown ability after being hit to wipe out the debuff.
Anyway just my thoughts... Be interesting to see if any of these come up ever...

Attacks by you or attacks by the mobs? What about abilities that don't have cooldowns?

Like the first one... Could be very nasty.... especially if they keep calling as they are chasing you while you run away... May also be good for grouping mobs
Not sure what to think about the second - for a melee character they couldn't care less... Ranged though may have a harder time.
With the third one are you saying that of 4 monsters... The damage you deal to one heals the other 3 for 33% of the damage dealt? Thus forcing people to focus fire on one specific mob. A possible group killer... I like it. I can just imagine the screaming of no no hit the one on the left... No leroy the left one, no moar dots, no ae.... Just focus... good times.

follow the link below to force's video on the various enchanted monsters in d3 - not sure this is an exhaustive list

Having trouble picturing the econd one exactly but it sounds interesting... Although with 4 champions with this ability it would be a killer if they all cast the walls.

Yeah I was struggling for names. I like mimic and copycat though.

Fickle - champions of this type cause skills not to work as normal... Ie you use bash but instead it causes you to use a random skill that is available to your character. Even ones that you do not currently have active.
Thief - champions of this type steal the first ability used on them by a player... The player can still use this ability but the champion also has access to it along with its normal selection of skills. At later difficulties the amount of abilities stolen icreases.

Affix: Adaptive
A monster with this affix would gain immunity to any skills that hit it for 5 seconds. For example... If I hit a monster with bash... For the next 5 seconds that monster cannot be damaged by bash and people must either wait 5 seconds to hurt it with bash again or use another skill (which the monster then also becomes immune to for 5 seconds). This would force a change in a players gameplay as monsters with this type of affix would require a combo of skills and not just one spammed over and over or switching between monsters if people only want to use or have one damaging skill.
The 5 seconds could be increased or decreased and is just there as a placeholder really... Would need to be checked for balance.
Also not sure how easy this would be to code server side...

Did you bring the mandatory cookie and pie welcome present?
If so welcome... If not.... Well lets just say that you may need to visit the shops and bring the mandatory "i'm sorry I didn't bring the mandatory cookie and pie present" present... This includes free diablo keys for all as well as the aforementioned cookies and pies.

Would lilith perhaps fit into this? somehow returning from exile... or perhaps a demon/mortal hybrid???
The reason I threw tyrael in there was because he was the one that started the soulstones malarky, perhaps the black soulstone was the reason for the vision and not anything directly to do with leah...
I do like your thinking Phrozen but would then ask if the black soulstone does not come from Tathamet then where did it come from??? Is it a burnt shard of the destroyed worldstone?
If it is then that could explain a whole lot of things... The soulstone plan was to get the 3 primes here, corrupt the worldstone and produce a shard of the worldstone that could be used easily and moved easily...
Anyway, all just speculation but isn't it fun

That is, you could just as easily throw tyrael in there as well... ie he was the one who started all this soulstone stuff. Though whether he was tricked into doing it is a question that should be looked at...
Or you could even throw izaul (the corrupted angel from Act 4 in D2)... although this is more of a stretch in my mind.
